I feel our prison system as a whole is just terrible. It's punishment for their crimes but in reality once you get incarcerated your life is over. Who is going to hire you after that? You're just gonna be stuck in some dead end job.

There are some evil people out there in the world but wouldn't it be better to attempt to reform these people rather than simply punish them then send them back out into society? Prison should be redone imo and be focused on rehabilitation.

Drugs are not a crime, they are a health issue. Trying to threaten people with jail time will not stop anyone. Trying to convince them that drugs are bad for their health and that they need professional help to get rid of their addiction, will work exponentially better.

Laws exist ，so things are done less as they are seen as bad. They want to change the number of times it is done. If the punishment doesn't change the number of times something is done it's a useless law.
