I’m rewatching for the third time. I can honestly say that this is one perfect drama. From story ,production,director,scxt writers cinematography , costumes and makeup,casting, even the OSTS sang by Xiao Xian..everything about this drama is perfect I’ve never watched any other drama produced so perfectly than this one ..and I’ve watched quite a few of both Korean and Chinese dramas through the years…I hope season two will also be THIS GREAT I can’t wait to see…I hope soon ….this is the only drama where I did a lot of production research, read every review and read the 746 chapters novel. I highly admire it’s whole production process from novel to drama adaptation and deeply appreciate it all. Thank you

What a great series in every way ! This is one of the only shows I don't blow through the opening or closing songs. Who ever is singing... I'm transported to heaven, and I don't even know what he's saying...but damn ! What a beautiful voice all around ! So smooth, and delicate with every notes inflection. I don't know anybody in this modern day who can compare ! I really feel blessed just hearing his rare gift

Plus, he literally doesn't age. He hasn't settled down, or found a hobby. And does he have a personality? Does he like things, like rain or the color purple? In my mind, he's an android that is programmed to protect Xian, and I am totally okay with that lol.

One of the things I absolutely HATE about these Chinese live-action fantasies (Japanese and South Korean too) is that they’re allowed to show violence and even death but there is almost no blood when someone gets hurt or killed. I’m pretty sure that it’s because of actual censorship laws and not something the director does by choice.

The close-combat scenes are pretty bad. Bad setup, cuts with bad continuity between each actions, each frxs are too short to really distinguish what's happening. It really shows the characters can't do the choreography properly. Could've been better with wider angle shots using stunt doubles. I hope this don't repeat in every action scene, it's really messy and throwing off the viewing experience.
