It's so weird to me that governance and leadership is just about the only field (I suppose these days, medicine's getting scarily close to the list) where a good chunk of the population actively idolises making sure the people doing it are amateurs without experience.

I feel like all politicians should have some kind of formal training in conflict resolution and something to do with diversity and equity. I'm not saying they should all have master's degrees (I do think you should have a relevant PhD to be president though) because that's just an unfair barrier for impoverished people. But there should be some kind of associates type program that goes into how governments work, international relations, and basic stuff about humanitarian issues.
