France in WW 1 with a population of 40 Mio People had 1500 dead a day and lost a .million men in total plus 3 Mio wounded. Russia loses almost 700 men a day. But they are the attacker so they need more men than their opponents to be successful. Every death of an Ukrainian soldier is a tragedy. But if you lose 200 put of an army of a million strong a day. You could according to this metric go at it for years to come. However modern war is not about men alone at all: Drones Jets Tanks Artillery systems etc. losing those hurts way more in terms of being able to fight back.

Where I live there's quite alot of polish, Romanian and Lithuanian people and I can happily say that eastern Europeans are some of the most welcoming people I've ever met.
Had 2 polish mates in my hometown and after a night in the pub they'd take me to their parents house and their mum would make a huge platter of food for us to share at 11:30pm, their dad would pour me whiskey after whiskey and wouldn't let me smoke my own tobacco. I once gave their dad a joint because he'd never tried weed and after that every time I saw him he'd shake my hand and say "you are a good man".
Now I've got a really nice Lithuanian mate but unfortunately he's 'pro russia', nice guy but his beliefs are a bit twisted. He recently went home to Lithuania and came back swearing about all the Ukrainian flags he saw everywhere in Lithuania haha I thought it was poetic justice.

For as much shit as the Yankees and Brits get, I think this crisis proves that when shit hits the fan the Anglos (as usual) are really only the last Western powers we can count on. Obviously, Poland and the Baltics are giving it their all too, but in terms of the major Wester powers when you compare what the US and UK have done compared to the largest EU countries — looks at Spain, Germany, France and Italy — its kinda sad, but my parents immigrated from South Korea, so I kinda know the feeling

Once the UK sent weapons the whole of Europe felt it could do so. Ukraine's government has made clear this cleared massive question marks for everyone else.
Sometimes people forget how much power a country like the UK or France have because they try to act together with the rest of their allies, but acting alone still makes waves. It's why Russia tried so hard to push the narrative it didn't matter.

I have often said that people forget the strength of the UK sometimes,
Look at this way, lots of countries look to Washington to see how to act, Washington will often look to Britain, this was shown with Obama wondering if we should strike Iran at the request of Israel. Britain said no thanks, France said it'll join in, America backed down.
The war in Ukraine had British involvment from the start and as you quoted, the UK crossed those lines that others would have looked to Washington for, the Americans where like "Well....just follow the British lead" and NATO and EU got involved quickly.
The UK remains a powerful ally and has lots of softpower (Currently getting pissed down the toilet) in an image of defender of human rights and democracy and the Commonwealth will back us in war no matter what.

Just to be clear, it isn't anti Russian policy, it's pro Ukraine policy.
Anti Russian makes it sound like they are not the aggressors here!

Being anti-aggressor is good, actually. It does no good to anyone to pretend that "Russia", as a cultural and civilizational force, is not inherently a threat to liberal European nations. So was Germany.

Ukraine losing 200 soldiers a day. That's an incredibly grim number, even if not all of them are deaths.

In general if a defending country loses a certain amount of troops per day the attacking country loses a multitude of that. Unless it's like a poorly trained and unprepared country versus something like the US (think Iraq)
Defending is easier (wrong choice of words but you get what I mean) than attacking. You know the land, you know what positions to defend and which not to, you know where to ambush,...

Not only is this just hopium it doesn't matter much when the attacker can replace the losses and the defender cannot do so so easily. It was literally Russia's strategy during the Winter War just to throw Russian troops into the carnage knowing that they could sustain the losses while Finland was gradually worn down. It worked.
At Kursk, the Red Army made it a point to drive into and ram German tanks with their own even though the action would knock out their tanks, as well. Again, Russia knew that they could replace the smashed tanks being loss whereas the Germans struggled to.

That's very cool. The Winter War and Kursk were about 80 years ago.
None of that matters now. Unless you believe Russia has factories pumping out hundreds of tanks and that they have millions ready to willingly throw themselves into the front lines.

The EU has treaties that allow many non-EU citizens to work in the EU. The ukrainians are mostly employed as seasonal workers across the EU. Since the UK left, UK farmers have had issues finding workers because a lot of them were Ukrainians.

Just because Germany’s happy to exploit Eastern Europeans to the detriment of its own population doesn’t mean we are.

It's quite hilarious how everyone makes Russians of how brainwashed they are by their own government and believe it. Yet at the same time you have people vehemently defending the British government and their disinformation campaigns
