KH,I’m sorry but I don’t see anything wrong with those questions,it’s actually good they ask you questions,it means thay want to know about India,I’m a brown Canadian (born in Fiji Island),I would go to the United States and couldn’t believe that many people think Canada is part of the USA,please don’t be offended by these or any questions,BTW,those people in the USA that ask me these questions are now some of my best friends on social media,tell people when they ask,I’ll bet once they know you and your culture they could very well become your friends

It's actually kinda hilarious and astonishing that some indians(mostly teen girls) thinks that korea is an Utopia where everything is perfect just after watching some k drama. And yes u are correct that some people will do anything to go there, my 15 year old niece is an bts/kpop fan she thinks that every korean guys are same as they show in k drama. She once told me that her dream is to marry a handsome korean guy and settle down in korea. She has even started learning korean in hope for going there.

As an Indian living in Maharashtra I've myself seen so many Indians doing racist attacks and we (Indians) ourself don't respect the fellow Indians eg:- the northeast

Brother to be honest , I don't think it just to Indians. I am black north African who has been living in South Korea for 2 years, and I face the same things in daily. Also my white friends face the same things. So I could say, it is a normal things since the society is homogenous and it may take them some time to accept foreigners. Beside that My Korean friends told me that they also faced the same type of discrimination in some European or South Asian countries!

I've lived in several cities in US and US is less racist but I've experienced something similar at times. However after several years I've found that US society is more classist than racist. There's a class association with skin color as you said, if I dress up well and look rich people treat me much better (whites can go in flip flops and khaki sweats and they will get treated well still). This is the reason blacks in America are so into fashion.
I think this would also apply to Korea, just appear rich and you'll be treated alright.

I only had one interaction with a South Korean online and he seemed a pretty good. So not every Korean is bad or awful, but they do have a colorism problem just like in India. And India's problem is Colorism plus Casteism.

I faced same experience. I thought they are hating me cuz I am Japanese but later I got to know that they hating me cuz I am Indian Japanese, I am black and they think they are white
