It looks really nice, hardware-wise. But... with no Google services, no 5G, and then pricing it a whopping 50% more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 (prices will be from eur 2200,- in the EU), this is going to be a very niche folding smartphone

Watching this on my Huawei Mate 50 Pro without Google services.
Not having Google spyware it's actually a good thing.
And also a good thing for battery life and cheaper price is not having a 5G modem.
4G it's plenty for watching 4K videos.
5G would mean I have to spend a lot more on my network bills and drain the battery much quicker because 5G loses connection very often which means it would have to switch between antennas all the time.
So 4G is cheaper to produce, cheaper for me to pay on phone bills, has better battery life, better coverage.
5G in Europe it's basically a scam or a useless feature at the very least for the next few years.

The OS Huawei uses seems more user friendly and capable, feature rich in daily usage, like how you can add apps to the swipe down menu and many others you've shown. I am not sure yet if you mean that the Harmony OS supports Android apk/apps natively, even though Google Play is absent. I can surely do without Google's awful software. For anyone that uses Windows devices this is second nature. I never miss anything Google when I'm on my Windows laptop or tablet.

Like what others have said, it's too bad that Huawei got neutered because of politics. I would definitely consider this, but without Google apps, 5G and the HIGH price tag i can only admire this from afar(and on YouTube). Right now im rocking a Fold 3 and a Google Pixel 6 Pro and i look forward to see what the Pixel Fold brings to the table. I just like the UI of the Pixel, the haptics and the camera so if they can bring that experience to the Pixel Fold I'm sold(even with the high price tag). I've also been looking at the Vivo X Fold 2, OPPO Find N2, and feel like the Fold 4 is an iterative upgrade so I probably wouldn't get that. And I would just sell my afforementioned phones to mitigate the cost. Thank you for the video though ❤❤❤❤❤

I wish Huawei wasn’t banned. The apps I need for work etc all use google. If I didn’t need to use google apps so much I would definitely switch. Urgh frustrating. The mate 50 in black and gold is a FIT phone too.

The only reason I stopped using Huawei is supply where I live. Literally can't get one without paying massive import tax since no network carrier will supply them

As a UK resident I hate the fact I'm unable to buy Huawei products because of the uk government ban. I'm a lifelong Huawei user and I find apple,samsung and even the Honor device I now use as a temporary wife far superior to Huawei. I hope they can find a way to make these products available to UK users in the near future so I can start using my favourite Huawei products again.
作为一名英国居民，我讨厌因为英国政府的禁令而无法购买华为产品。我是华为的终身用户，我发现苹果、三星，即使是我现在作为临时妻子使用的荣耀设备也比华为好得多。我希望他们能在不久的将来把这些产品提供给英国用户，这样我就可以再次使用我最喜欢的华为产品了。
As a UK resident I hate the fact I'm unable to buy Huawei products because of the uk government ban. I'm a lifelong Huawei user and I find apple,samsung and even the Honor device I now use as a temporary wife far superior to Huawei. I hope they can find a way to make these products available to UK users in the near future so I can start using my favourite Huawei products again.

Day by day I try finding new apps that can replace most of my google and apps that need google to function.. once it is complete I can definitely buy Huawei phone or any phone that doesn't have Google apps

Still, im not buying a foldable cellphone until the crease is eliminated. If i buy a phone that expensive, aesthetics is one of the features which is a compelling argument when deciding whether to buy it or not.

Too bad the world sees Huawei is a threat so they came up with a plan to ban it. No other brands could compete. Right price with high performance also beautiful design too.

But my question is why do all tech reviewers always make the statement "... software you get from Huawei?" I mean I've used the EMUI when it was still a licensed Google Android but why is Google's Android assumed to be more prestigious than Huawei's Android when they're practically the same thing. I get it people have been brainwashed into submission about the prying eyes of the C but Come-on most of y'all don't have anything the C wants. And why do you think your data is safer in the hands of Google instead. Just stop it. Buy Huawei if you wanna. Stop the software BS.

If Huawei wasn’t banned from using Google Services it would easily be 1 in sales and innovation.
I tried using a Matepad but I still struggled using basiv social media and I consider myself more techy than the average user. Huawei Products are great including this X3 but it’s weak point and major deal breaker us not having Google Services
