@vinvin1082
Vietnam has been on its own. Japan, South Korea and even China heavily relied on the US to grow in the past!

@AndyTN64
VN economy relied heavily on USA, no countries can survive without relied on other country.

@danhtran6401
So you're saying, if US imposes sanctions on Viet Nam, pull out all their companies, Vietnam's economy can still flourish?

@fuongnam
Vietnam's per capita gdp rose from $300 in the 1980s to $2,800 in 2020, a nearly tenfold increase.

@picandvideo
Vietnam needs significant improvement on transportation infrastructure to stay competitive with other SEA members. Should focus on infrastructure investment rather real estate sector. Too bad. Now real estate sector is imploding and must pay back mountain of debt to USA with rising interest rates . This is a trap set by USA.

@thangngo7284
Are you confused? Vietnam is the creditor of the United States

@hirunguyen4522
True. Viet nam has the worst transportation system.

@donguyenthanh6650
@VietLe-USA debt ratio on gdp is 39% which is not a big deal

@jt-vj4sl
It would take an average Vietnamese worker ( said $4000 a year) at least 25 years to buy a $100,000 house. And houses in Vietnam are not cheap. In the center of city, they can be $500,000 or more.

@TanNguyen-iv5yh
Vietnam needs to improve its infrastructure, especially in the public transport sector or this issue would definitely hinder the productivity.

@jt-vj4sl
For a poor country like Vietnam, it is not difficult to achieve high growth. What is matter is how long would it take Vietnam to catch up neighbors like Malaysia or Thailand ?
Vietnam today is the smaller China 10 years ago. Its growth has been largely driven by foreign businesses. 20% of Vietnam GDP is from output of one company: Samsung. Imagine one day Samsung pull out and move to another cheaper country like India or Bangladesh, what will become of Vietnam?

@NghiaNguyen-hz7mh
Do Thailand, Malaysia and other ASEAN countries have as much rare earth as Vietnam? I think not. Rare earth is an important weapon in the next few decades, and does Samsung dare to leave Vietnam now? Especially during this time (Russia vs Ukraine, US vs China's economy).

@-_XD
@Tronghoango-ns1uc Vietnam is a little shrimp in comparison to China

@GB-xz2yg
This country suffers extending rich and poor gap. The people are smart and ambitious. But they dont have systematic thinking.

@namcamda7145
As vietnamese, i don't think so. I feel my country focus too much on how to look good from the outside while there are so many problems inside. Real estate is one of the major problem. Price are so much greater than its actually value, cause a very staggering real-estate bubble in many provinces. ( sorry for my bad english )

@CHANGJIANGLONG
In the past five years, the average annual growth rate of per capita GDP in nominal US dollars from 2017 to 2022 was 7.9% in China (US$8,760-US$12,810), 6.7% in Vietnam (US$2,960-US$4,090), and 4.3% in Indonesia (US$3,890-US$4,800). , India is 4% ($1960-$2380), and the world average is 3.4% ($10890-$12880).

@Giahanlly
Because vietnam have large investment from korea, singapore, usa, japan...

@vubui8286
Booming corruptions from village to city

@bobolee8531
till now day infrastucture of nation is still very behind , cost of living is high and the property price will scared away the investor , sadly the work force is far less skilled than those of Thailand and Malaysia.

@RaulCapablanca03
Because you are poor that’s why you can not buy a house in Vietnam

@QwertyKewl6950
@RaulCapablanca03 No despite the GDP growth, many areas of Vietnam are quite dilapidated and you can see the history of war still there.

@petertran7993
Sorry it is wrong Việt Nam have 75 % population is under poverty, Please go around the all county and see it please Thanks

@eliso5973
The property market in Vietnam is collapsing now.

@benho2918
Vietnam has still long journey to catch up Thailand , Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, etc....

in 15 years, only Indonesia will be our rival in SEA.

Just stop throwing garbage everywhere, stop scamming and stealing, then the tourists will flock in.

@telescopicS627
Vietnam will never catch up to Thailand or Malaysia because Vietnam has way too many people.

@pedrohaonade531
Time will tell, but I don't think Vietnam will become an economic powerhouse. Here is why, Vietnam is one of the most corrupt country in the world. Second, Vietnam depend on China to provide it most of the raw material and or hafl finished products, and alot of small manufacturers are those that move from China. And finally I think Vietnamese people are lazy, maybetheylearnedit from the French people. They just don't want to work overtime. I believe that you have been heard that Vietnamese factory workers were on stike agaisnt Chinese boss( just for political propaganda, media in the West never mention they also strike against Korean or Taiwan boss).
I hope my personal view on Vietnamese works ethic doesn't offend anyone, if so, I'm apologize.

We work hard but not to the point of sacrificing life for work. We value the time with family and friends after work. Working overtime not only harms your body and mental health but also your family and social life.
