t’s hard to say what is better since the metrics are not well defined here. Better in terms of etc, money, job prospects and social welfare?

Public transportation is excellent in both countries and possibly some of the best in the world. At least they have escalators all over the stations unlike Japan. For the availability of bus stations, I think Hong Kong wins slightly. Hong Kong also has cable cars and some old ferries for history lovers to enjoy.

Both countries are very clean, but Hong Kong is led down by the old unrestored buildings, while the buildings in Singapore look shiny and brand new. Singapore also has stricter rules regarding to cleanness, such as making chewing gum a crime. Singaporean gardening is also more neat and there’s less mosquitoes found in the parks. And then there’s the air pollution in Hong Kong produced by Chinese factories. I went to Hong Kong in 2005 and the air was so much cleaner than it was during my last visit in 2016.
这两个城市都很干净，但是香港被那些没有翻新的老旧建筑所拖累，并没有像新加坡的建筑一样看起来清洁明亮，崭新如故。新加坡在清洁方面也有比香港更严格的规定，比如将嚼口香糖定为犯罪，新加坡的公园也更干净整洁，公园里的蚊子也更少。还有工厂造成的的香港空气污染，我曾经在2005年去过香港，那时候香港的空气比我上次2016年去的时候要清新得多。
