She is certainly not the first victim of the Korean entertainment machine, nor is she likely to be the last to collapse under the strain. Hopefully though, her death may prove to be the final straw that leads to a complete overhaul of the Korean entertainment juggernaut.

@Ms. Absolutely one extreme to the other. Europe has it right, most countries go to school a lot more and take it more seriously then we do, but like us and unlike Asia they still leave some free time for kids to be kids.

I hate to break it to you, but depression is caused by a chemical imbalance, and that can hit you AT ANY AGE. I have a friend who was fine thru high school and the first 2 years of college. But in her junior year of college she became depressed and couldn’t stop being depressed. A few years after graduation she was diagnosed as being bipolar. Now, decades later, she still struggles with it. Fame, singing, acting, influencing, has NOTHING to do with it!!! It IS a medical condition!!
And your daughters could still get hit with it.

Last year her ex boyfriend posted naked pictures of her. In May she attempted suicide. Things like this destroys your career and life in Korea. It was more than pressure from being famous.
