You cant make a living space like this in just any cliffside. You need a rock soft enough to bore through but not so soft that it will cave in. Having said that, this is beautiful and I applaud this fellow for his efforts.

Great work,I think that all the houses in mountains and Rocky places should build inside ,thus these will be weather proof and the upper surface will be saved for Forest etc.this is my thought in district Shangla kpk Pakistan.

Nice, takes a lot of patience to do something like this though. Can't do it in my country even if you had the land, the local council would tell you to destroy it because you don't have planning permission. In China I believe you buy the land and it's yours to build on as you wish.

I actually loved it. Let's just hope it holds from an earthquake. It lacks structural support, although he's almost at the top most part of the mountain so there's not much dead load on top of his house. Im not a geodetic engineer I'm not even sure if those are limestone or just hardened mud but I have a background in architecture and I must say job well done.
