Ready Player One: This book was absolutely, positively, amazing. It portrayed VR in such a cool way, and the entire concept of a game with clues coupled with a dystopian type future was really intriguing.
Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus: I love both series so much, and it’s one of the best journeys I’ve had with book characters across the span of 10 books.
Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: Another Rick Riordan series followed Magnus Chase through his journey to prevent Ragnarok while he’s in Valhalla. Honestly, it’s super cool and Magnus is a super sarcastic character—which is awesome.
The Martian: As a super space nerd, I absolutely loved the way this novel used the ideas of a future where we’ve made it to Mars, and a super hilarious narrator, Mark Watney.
A Series of Unfortunate Events: This is a childhood favorite of course. I really enjoyed this series.
Armada: I didn’t think anything could match up to Ready Player One after reading it, but this one did! It also had a gaming element as a part of it and it was super super cool to read and I highly recommend it.
The Maze Runner: I own the prequel to The Maze Runner and I’ve read about it perhaps a hundred times. It’s so cool to think about an apocalyptic type world that was caused by solar flares that in turn forces humanity to deal with a virus. Very cool!
Turtles All The Way Down: It was a really interesting, and relatable account of someone going through problems with their mental health and I absolutely loved it.
Legend: This was one of the first dystopian series I read, and it was awesome.
Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children: The elements in this book were really creative.
It’s my favorite thing in the world, but I haven’t made time to read lately. :(
Do you guys have any recommendations? (Or have you read any of these? I’d love to discuss [read: fangirl] about it.)
From the stars,
《Ready Player One》:
《A Series of Unfortunate Events》:
《The Maze Runner》:
《Turtles All The Way Down》:这本书讲述一个非常有趣和相关的故事,讲述了一个人在心理健康方面遇到的问题,我非常喜欢它。
《Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children》:

Anangsha Alammyan, Indie author. Self-published three books.
It's very difficult to list only FIVE books
1. A Song of Ice and Fire series by Geroge R R Martin. - This has to be the best work of fiction I ever read! With a plot so staggering, minute details penned so beautifully and each character developed so intricately, that it will leave you wondering how one person can have such a vibrant imagination. At 5705 pages in total (and two more tomes still to go), some may argue the books are verbose, but once you read it, It will become more than just an addiction, or an obsession, but a complete way of life!
2. The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy. The whole book is like a long heartbreaking poem - a poem about life, loss, pain, and the universal Laws of Love. The laws that lay down who should be loved and how. A must read for any lover of literature!
3. Harry Potter series by J K Rowling. Some say the magic lies in the wands of the teenagers who wield them and in the hearts of the people who can love without expecting anything in return. But I say the real magic of JKR lies in the way she describes situations, and makes the conversations come alive with a heavy dollop of humour and innocence.
4. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
道格拉斯·亚当斯的《The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy》。

Krishna Singh, just another unfaithful book lover
I divide it in categories.
Modern fiction— A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. The writing is simple yet beautiful. The story is realistic and depicts what’s actually happen in Afghanistan.
Hindi fiction— Rangbhoomi by Prem Chand. I have read only Prem Chand’s novels but I loved this novel because it depicted patriotism so beautifully that I had tears in my eyes when I closed this book. I have read Hindi stories, and other books by Premch
Indian English fiction— The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri. It is a drama and storyline is minutely crafted. The language is great, and emotions are abundant.
Spirituality— Art of Happiness by Dalai Lama and Howard C Cutler. This is the book that moved me
Classic— Les Misérables by Victor Hugo. I am currently reading this book, and it is Norman Denny’s translation.
Poetry— The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. It is more of a spiritual book but it is treated as a poetry. So let it be poetry book.

Akand Sitra
This is a very very tough question.
I have read many books, and I mean MANY. And I loved dozens of them. Scores of them changed the way I think. Tons of them helped me develop my personality. Hundreds of them have helped me in passing my time. And most of them, I absolutely adore.
Every book was special to me. Every author was important to me. Every experience was a new one, and every book has a special place in my heart.
I like all kinds of books, and I read all kinds of books - Be it fiction, or non-fiction. Be it academic, or a comic. Be it serious prose, or a comedy satire. Be it high fantasy, or an autobiography. I have read all kinds and have liked all types, so deciding on "ONE" favorite book is tough.
But, like anyone else, I do have that one book that I love and which I don't mind reading it again and again.
And that is,
A Storm Of Swords
This is the third installment of the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series.
I could have included any motivational book, any academic book, any literature book or any other book that is highly acclaimed. But, the experience that I had while reading this masterpiece was other-worldly.
就是,《A Storm Of Swords》,这是《'A Song of Ice and Fire》系列的第三部。

The Redwall series by Brian Jacques. I love the adventure and questing and figuring out riddles. The way he described the feasts...god I always wished I could experience a feast like that. The way he would write the different dialects for the different animals was so much fun. They are young adult books, but I'm nearing 4 decades and still love them. Been reading them since I was just a little girl.

Harsh Snehanshu, a reader before a writer
I don't have one favourite since it's very difficult to pin down one book, as each and every book that I have invested my time into has been very relevant to me at the time I read them. They considerably shaped my opinion and thinking, and taught me something or the other about writing, human nature and living. And since books are nothing but manifestations of an author's thoughts, I'll credit the authors in the list that follows below.
I'd point that I like contemporary literary fiction and non-fiction over classics and my personal-library contains over 300 books by contemporary writers like Rahul Bhattacharya, Neil Gaiman, Junot Diaz, Orhan Pamuk. I like reading Indian writers more than the foreign ones. Here are my favourites:
1. Salman Rushdie – for his imagination, his chatty tone, and masterly command over the language. While I loved his Haroun and the Sea of Stories more for its layered plotting, gripping storyline, it was his Midnight's Children that satiated the writer within me. Reading it was like reading a gifted writer at his prime. No other book had the kind of literary hangover as his masterpiece.
2. Manu Joseph — for his dexterous plotting, sly humour and inventiveness.I like his second book The Illicit Happiness of Other People over the first Serious Men. Another author that I like in this genre is Upamanyu Chatterjee, but I have just read his English, August. The oft-used phrase in his book: "hazaar-fucked" had become my catchphrase for a while.
虽然我更喜欢他写的《Haroun and the Sea of Stories》,因为它多层次的情节,扣人心弦的故事情节,但他的《Midnight's Children 》让我内心感到满足。
比起第一本《 Serious Men》,我更喜欢他的第二本书《The Illicit Happiness of Other People》。

虽然我更喜欢他写的《Haroun and the Sea of Stories》,因为它多层次的情节,扣人心弦的故事情节,但他的《Midnight's Children 》让我内心感到满足。
比起第一本《 Serious Men》,我更喜欢他的第二本书《The Illicit Happiness of Other People》。
3. Albert Camus – for not writing a single line in the story that's not required. I loved his The Outsider. I read it in one go. Spent days thinking on its implication. The same thing happened with his short-story The Guest. Right now, I'm reading his last book, The First Man, the first draft of his unfinished manuscxt at the time of his death:
4. Franz Kafka – I loved his short-short-story The Hunger Artist. And I was Gregor Samsa while reading Metamorphosis. I felt like a bug because I read it at a time when I was dependent on my family to provide for me. A rare fear clasped me at that time, and it turned me slightly depressed.
5. Suketu Mehta's Maximum City – he's the best non-fiction writer I have ever read. Period. His language is limpid and extremely engrossing. He has this innate journalistic acumen to fish good stories and he tells it with a finesse unparalleled. The only other writer who comes close is Sidhharth Mukherjee of The Emperor of Maladies fame. I haven't read much of him to comment though. Siddhartha Deb's The Beautiful and the Damned is also a recommended read.
6. Vinod Mehta – if you haven't yet, read his Lucknow Boy. You'd learn how to write an autobiography, funny and brutally honest. By the end, he would have taught you how to live your life.
悉达多·德布(Siddhartha Deb)写的《The Beautiful and The Damned》也是推荐的读物。

7. Short-stories by Roald Dahl, Anton Chekhov, Ernest Hemingway, (Read his Snows of Kilimanjaro ), Jhumpa Lahiri's A Temporary Matter .
8. Romesh Gunesekara's Noontide Toll. If you like writings that sing, that sound like music, that make you say waah on every second line, read the Sri Lankan novelist Romesh's latest. He's so tender with language that it depressed me as I figured I could never be as good as him.
9. George Orwell – the master of the art. Read his 1984, or Animal Farm. His depth, intelligence and command is unparalleled. He's another writer besides Hemingway and Camus where not a sentence seems unnecessary.
10. Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi – there's a very interesting story behind it.

The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. Let’s be honest, the movies were great, but if you haven’t read the books then you missed a large part of the world Tolkien has created. In comparison to the movies, the books are a dozen times better at the least… and that is saying something.
What is selling really? Why does everyone need to know it? What can you do to become a sales expert? This one Book taught me all I needed to learn about selling!
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. An amazing story about following your dream and what this really means. I read this book as a teenager and it started to shape my life even when I did not even understand half of it.
21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership by John C. Maxwell. If you want to be a Leader to your employees, your friends or even in your own life then this book is a must-read.
Become what you are by Alan Watts. Alan Watts, a genius in understanding eastern philosophies and enlightenment, shares his interpretation of life, the universe and more in this collection of essays.
The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. By far the number 1 Book I have read to date. This book will give you the tools to live a happy, fulfilled life no matter where you are or what you are doing.
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. 70 years after being published it is still the #1 book in personal development and obtaining riches. The ideas are fantastic, and this book gives enough value that even after the twentieth time reading it you will still realize more!
The Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. The possibilities of space and various different philosophies are looked at from a unique, fun angle in this great novel.
The Children of the Law of One and the Lost Teachings of Atlantis by Jon Peniel. My personal life-changer in terms of books. I started my journey here and this book was the one that left me speechless. Jon Peniel describes his journey in a monastery, learning different philosophies, but the key point of this book is the explanation of unconditional love.
托尔金的《The Lord of the Rings 》。
埃克哈特·托尔(Eckhart Tolle)所写的《The Power of Now》:这是我迄今为止读过的第一本书。
道格拉斯·亚当斯的《The Hitchhiker’s guide to the Galaxy 》。
《The Children of the Law of One》和《the Lost Teachings of Atlantis 》,作者是乔恩·佩尼尔。
