Failure is an investment with compound interest.
No one successful did not fail before or after achieving success.
We have the wrong view about failure, as if it is death and it is the end of all.
Failure is a lesson for the steps to success. I failed many times on so many things before I found my success.
When you think of failure, think of a sales funnel.
You have to sell your product to so many people, maybe 100 or 1000, before one or two will buy it. Because of all the failures in trying to sell to all these people, you learn how to improve your product to meet more of people’s needs with it. You also learn how to convince more people to buy quicker. You learn how to filter out non serious buyers.
You have to fail in selling to 98 customers to succeed in selling to 2 people. Scale that and you have a successful business conversion rate: if your cost doesn't exceed the conversion.
Apply this to business ideas, inventions, or anything else, and you get the same thing. It's a matter of statistics. You can try to invest all you have and take a big loan to make your first business idea and you will take the biggest risk and make the biggest mistake of your life.
It’s better for you to try many small tiny projects without debt, and fail 10 consecutive times before hitting success, and grow from there.

Failing each project will teach you to improve the next project, to deal with the reasons the previous ones failed, while adding to the success factors from the previous failures. That's when failure became a compound interest investment.

I failed to save my 3 years old friendship with my best friend in last May.

I am one of those privileged few who have had more share of failure than success in this limited time span of 21 years.
Professional failures:
I failed to make into Hindu College
I failed to become the topper of the class in my 15 years of academics.
I failed to win most of the Debate competitions I ever took part in.
I failed to become the School Captain and had to settle for the House Captain post.
I wanted to publish my novel in 2014 but failed owing to limited parental support.
I was a core team member and lead strategist of an NGO[1] . It has become defunct now.
My first startup[2] failed miserably to attract investments and we had shut down the company in its nascent state.
I missed out on the Teach for India fellowship by an inch and was rejected at the 7th round of scrutiny.
I missed out on all the campus placements.
在这21年的有限时间里，我是少数几个失败多于成功的幸运儿之一。

I failed to express my feelings to my crush for 8 years we have studied together.
I failed to keep up with many of the resolutions such as hitting the gym, learning to sing etc that I made to myself.
I lost many of my friends who were an integral part of my college life.
I have wasted my entire first year in night-outs, PC games and movies.
I failed to save my relationship with the woman I had dreamt of togetherness.

我们在一起学习了8年，我没有向我的暗恋对象表达我的感受。
我没能坚持我对自己下的很多决心，比如去健身房，学唱歌等等。
我失去了许多朋友，他们是我大学生活中不可或缺的一部分。

I have accepted them without self-deception.
When I look at some smart teenagers with lot of creative and innovative ideas, I wish I had their knowledge in possession when I was their age.
I have more 9 years in hand to turn around things in life and only time will be the testimony of my success or failure.
But with the experience of afore-mentioned failures, I had learnt just one thing.
You don’t have control on the outcome of most things in life.
If something fails in life, switch to the next.
Just don’t stop. Keep working.

我没有自欺欺人地接受了他们。
当我看到一些聪明的青少年有很多创造性和创新的想法时，我希望我在他们这个年龄时就拥有他们的知识。

Yes, I have failed many a times in my life. I don’t even remember the count, but whenever I have failed, I came back stronger. It is important that you take lessons from your failure otherwise you are paving a way for yet another failure. Many of my friends think that my life is awesome, which is not true. I enjoy failures as much as I adore success. I enjoy both the phases of my life. After a failure,I take my time to review myself, what went wrong? And then change my plans accordingly. Biggest problem with people is that they don’t change themselves and continue in the same way and fail yet again. I am enlisting my failures, I had so far in my life and how I came back strongly.

PROFESSIONAL FAILURES AND HOW I RESPONDED -
I always thought that I am very intelligent since childhood,so GOD decided to teach me a lesson early on. I was 9 yo at that time, I gave entrance exam for Sainik school. Got rejected, it was a big big blow for me. Boom the arrogance came down a bit. (Year 2001)
Same year, I was in MP state board school, 5th standard was board in those times. Got 78.33%, locked myself in the room cried for a day, didn’t eat food for a day. From 90+ percentage i dropped down to 70’s. But after this never got less than 85’s. Learnt my lesson that I am also a normal human being, arrogance hit the rock bottom. (Year 2002)
Then, I came back stronger (was always among top 2 in my class) was going good till 10th standard. I realised that I am more of a guy who is good with school exams, but fail badly when it comes to All india level competition. (Year 2007)
Topped in 10th standard, got famous in school (My name is written on a board pride of our school :P)and yeah arrogance came back again. Felt great, but it soon faded away. Started preparing for JEE and realised that I don’t know anything, worked really hard. Ended up with EML in JEE( got 120 marks,cutoff was 175 I guess). And rank 25340 in AIEEE, 240 in BITSAT and rank 340 in MPPET. Then again realised I was always an ordinary student and I would end up getting admission in a local govt. College.

我从小就觉得自己很聪明，所以上帝决定早点给我上一课。当时我9岁，参加了赛尼克学校的入学考试。被拒绝了，这对我来说是一个很大的打击—砰的一声，傲慢的情绪稍微下降了一点。(2001年)

Worked hard for a year and realised IITJEE is not that difficult. Realised in december that I will clear this exam for sure, over confidence was creeping in. I was very good with chemistry, used to get marks in 120’s out of 180. And then gave IITJEE,AIEEE and other exams. My over confidence was shattered yet again. Got AIR 8252 in IITJEE, 302 in BITSAT, AIR 3599 in AIEEE, RANK 67 in MPPET. Meanwhile in 3rd year, few companies visited our college for internship.Then,an announcement followed, from mechanical following guys are sexted - Rishi rahul kumar and Anshul tiwari ( GOD I was so happy, finally I got an internship),then he said, sorry Anshul you are in waiting list (I was like what the hell). And as it turned out, WAITING never got cleared, neither it got converted to RAC :P. I ended up with a project in IIT BOMBAY which was again one of the worst phase in my life.(Year 2013)
Placement season started , Bajaj auto ltd came for placements, I topped the written test by a huge margin, my friends congratulated me a day before the interviews. In interview they asked me will you work in sales? I denied and said that I would work in R and D only (biggest blunder I made), eventually I was not sexted. (Year 2013)
Cleared technical interview of Hindustan Unilever got rejected in HR interview. Cleared technical interview of Foster wheeler, they didn’t bothered to take my HR interview (thank god for that :P) sexted two candidates already, was rejected in technical interview in Reliance, GD in TATA MOTORS. By that time I lost hope of getting placed or clearing any interview.( Year 2013)
Meanwhile, I was seriously preparing for CAT, so I used to practice alot of test series and sit for only few companies. Gave CAT thought it went good, then Hero Motocorp came, didn’t wanted to sit for it, then changed my mind, cleared written, group discussion, interview was worst i ever had in life, still got sexted in it.( Year 2013)
努力工作了一年，意识到印度理工学院联合入学考试（IITJEE：Indian Institute of Technology, Joint Entrance Examination）并没有那么难。去年12月，我意识到自己肯定会通过这次考试，于是过度自信开始蔓延。我化学学得很好，过去我在180分中得了120分。然后参加了印度理工学院联合入学考试、全印工程师入学考试(AIEEE：All India Engineering Entrance Examination)和其他考试。我过度的自信又一次破灭了。在IITJEE得到了AIR 8252，在BITSAT得到了302，在AIEEE得到了AIR 3599，在MPPET中排名67。最让我失望的是我化学只得了84分。爸爸想让我去博帕尔参加印度国际理工学院考试，而我在TRICHY参加。

就业季节到来，巴贾杰(Bajaj) 汽车有限公司来招人，我以巨大的优势在笔试中名列前茅，我的朋友在面试前一天向我祝贺。面试中，他们问我你会在销售部工作吗？我否认并说我将只从事研发工作（这是我犯的最大错误），最终我没有被选中。（2013年）
印度斯坦联合利华的技术的面试被人力资源部拒绝，通过了福斯特·惠勒的技术面试，他们没有让参加我的人力资源面试（感谢上帝）已经选择了两名候选人，在塔塔汽车GD Reliance的技术面试中被拒绝。到那时，我失去了获得职位或通过任何面试的希望。（2013年）
同时，我正在认真地为CAT做准备，所以我曾经练习过很多测试系列，只参加过少数几家公司的测试。然后英雄摩托公司来了，本不想去的，然后改变了主意，通过笔试、小组讨论、面试，（自我感觉）这是我一生中最糟糕的面试，不过仍然被选中。（2013年）

LESSONS LEARNT OVER THE YEARS-
Be humble. Keep your feet grounded. Never let arrogance get hold of you. I was arrogant and I accept that gracefully. Now I am a changed person from a selfish guy I have transformed to a helping guy and I try my best to help people around.
Be confident (don’t be overconfident). If you are confident in your life, you can make it despite all the hardships. I was underconfident during interviews in my college. Now I go inside the interview room very confidently.
Failures are stepping stones for future successes. , once upon a time I desperately wanted to work in ONGC, and they had kicked me twice
Keep working hard in your life. There is no substitute for hardwork. One day you will reach where you are supposed to be. If I would have got a good percentile in CAT in my first attempt, I would not have thought of IES. If I would have got an offer from ONGC in college, I would have been working there for my entire life. If I would have got an offer from Hindustan Unilever I would not have thought of anything else. If I would have got good working conditions in my Job, I would have never thought of leaving it. GOD has a master plan waiting for you.
Never let success get to your head; never let failure get to your heart. Everything is temporary in this life. Enjoy both the phases of your life. Failure is the learning phase, success is the enjoying phase.

要谦虚，脚踏实地。永远不要让傲慢控制你。我很傲慢，我优雅地接受了这一点。现在我从一个自私的人变成了一个乐于助人的人，我尽我最大的努力帮助周围的人。
要自信（不要过于自信）。如果你对自己的生活充满信心，你就可以克服所有的困难。我曾经在大学面试时信心不足。现在我非常自信地走进面试室。
失败是未来成功的垫脚石。我非常想在印度石油天然气公司工作，他们拒绝了我两次。
在你的生活中继续努力。努力工作是其他任何事情无法替代的。总有一天你会到达你应该去的地方。如果我第一次尝试CAT中得到一个好的分数，我就不会想到IES。如果我在大学里得到印度石油天然气公司的录用，我会在那里工作一辈子。如果我能从印度斯坦联合利华得到一份工作，我就不会想到其他任何事情。如果我在工作中有良好的工作条件，我决不会想到离开它。上帝有一个伟大的计划在等着你。
永远不要让成功冲昏了头脑;永远不要把失败记在心里。生命中的一切都是暂时的。享受生活的两个阶段。失败是学习的阶段，成功是享受的阶段。
