"Self loathing?Why would anyone even do that?",he asked me as if he was surprised.
I stared at him.So,this man here just says he never loathed himself?Never once in his thirty or so years of existence?This could'nt be possible.
"So......with that we could conclude that...you're always happy...?",I enquired with disbelief.
"Yes,yes,why not.Life is so short,why make it melancholic.People think that the right time will come to make them happy and while waiting,it becomes frustrating.Live,while you're alive,"saying this,he closed his eyes,took a deep breath and put his arms in the air.
"Isn't nature magical?So beautiful are these trees and flowers and the chirping sparrows and little kittens and puppies roaming.Why, doesn't the vastness of nature excite you?I feel like I'm surrounded by magic all the time!Why should I loathe myself when I am so blessed and lucky to be here in the midst of so much beauty!",he told all of this in one go,smiling.
I thought he was certainly mad.He's homeless,and he says he loves living like that,roaming on the streets, living on park benches,unsure of every next moment.I ask him if he has any family.
"Yeah,I had one,but I left them.I left everything to be at peace,"he answered without a tinge of guilt in his voice.
我想他一定是疯了。他无家可归，他说他喜欢这样生活，在街上闲逛，住在公园的长椅上，对每一刻都不确定。我问他是否有家人。
“是的，我有一个，但我离开了他们。我离开一切是为了和平，”他回答，声音中没有一丝内疚。

Now I was certain that he was crazy.What about his responsibilities as a family member?He just left?
But...there's something about him,a serene peace surrounds him.I feel as if his happiness is radiating in his surroundings.If a homeless man can be contented and happy,why can't I,who has everything any person could ever want,you name it-a big bungalow,a high paying job,a nice family.But something is I've felt like like this for so long.
"But I'm not at all happy,I want to feel good like you do.Please help me",I requested him.
"You try to find happiness in great events of your life.You are too worried.Live in the moment.I bet you're thinking about your next day at office right now,"and he looked straight into my eyes.I felt guilty."You never know,your life can change hugely in any moment.So make the most of your time now.In this very moment,"he smiled and looked at the sky that was covered with dark grey clouds,warning us .I wondered how he would spend the night.But he didn't seem to think of it,he was smiling and trying to absorb all the beauty of that cloudy evening.I was surprised by his way of looking at things,and a while later,I bid him goodbye.
The man was right,I try to find happiness in success,in grandeur events.Walking home,with the pleasant wind softly blowing,I felt a strange calmness within me after the encounter.

I am very happy today. Usually I feel damn messed up and find myself cooking the broth of anxiety. But, at this moment, I feel happy because of few cutesy small things.
I took the only bar of dairy milk from the refrigerator and had a bite, gave half of it to my sister too.
I watched few animation videos, especially teddies.
I finished my work before the timeline, so that I can laze around tomorrow.
Moreover, it is raining here, chill weather and cool breeze, a perfect combo it is.
Small things do give use happiness. Having a shoulder to lean on, or having someone to share the last piece of cake, having a few good-hearted souls is completeness. Life gets difficult when are on our own. Ability to dilute stress and putting forth an effort to seek happiness, do help us to clear a part of our agony.
我今天很高兴。通常我会觉得一团糟，发现自己在焦虑中煎熬。但是，此时此刻，我感到快乐—因为一些可爱的小事情。
我从冰箱里拿出唯一一块牛奶，喝了一口，并分享一半给了我妹妹。

Seek out the happiness in all of life's crappiness. Some find happiness wherever they go, others whenever they go .
Happiness is.. maybe finding money in your pocket but it gets wasted in finding more happiness. hence happiness is not money. Happiness is not a place either , it's more of a direction. All I know is that it's not taxable hence everyone can afford it. For me liking what I do is happiness because it usually doesn't work the other way round.

When the father wants to be the kid of his own kid
Life changes drastically. We all are the particles of this beautiful journey where we don't know the moment which accelerate us to grow.
I have seen my father through the different phases of life but never thought to become my father's guide.
One fine evening, when I was busy in working with my projects then I found my father, sitting with my mother and remembering the past days.
I joined the discussion with them and my father told me,
“Son, I used to roam the whole city during your childhood even in the evening with you after my office. That were those days when rickshaw and my shoulder was two of your favourite happiness producing places.”
Tears started to roll out from my eyes just to remember the fact that days have been changed but our bond remained tight.
当父亲想成为自己孩子的孩子时；
生活发生了翻天覆地的变化。我们都是这个美丽旅程中的微粒，我们不知道是什么时刻加速了我们的成长。
我看到父亲经历了人生的不同阶段，但从未想过要成为父亲的向导。
一个晴朗的晚上，当我忙于我的项目时，我发现我的父亲和我的母亲坐在一起，回忆着过去的日子。

The grey hair and thin body of my father started making me think that age can turn a man to a kid.
Suddenly, I hugged my father and started waving hands through out his grey hair like he used to do with me when I was a mere kid. Even after so many disagreements, he stood up and I tried to hold him up like he used to do.
We had a great laugh altogether and coincidentally, things started to shine like a fine wine.
Later that night when I was working in the dim light, my father came and told me,
“Son, proud to be your son. ”
One day this man starved the whole time while trying to accomplish his father's wishes but today when he saw resemblance of himself in his son then automatically the happiness swapped in greater form.
我父亲灰白的头发和瘦削的身体开始让我觉得年龄可以把一个男人变成一个孩子。
突然，我拥抱了父亲，开始挥手抚摸他的白发，就像我还是个孩子时他对我做的那样。尽管有这么多分歧，他还是站了起来，我试着像他以前那样扶着他。
我们一起大笑，巧合的是，一切开始像美酒一样闪闪发光。
那天晚上晚些时候，当我在昏暗的灯光下工作时，我父亲来告诉我，

As because you are dealing with huge responsibilities and burdens of life doesn't mean that there's no happiness in this world flight. Just look around, see yourself, growing everyday and see your surroundings shinning just because of your existence will be able to give you permanent happiness with a broader view.
Happiness is in your heart. Happiness is in your mind. Once you start enjoying your responsibility, work and environment, you'll find yourself as the place of happiness with a brighter side.
因为你正在处理生活中的巨大责任和负担，并不意味着这个世界上没有幸福。只要环顾四周，看看你自己，每天都在成长，看看你周围的环境因为你的存在而熠熠生辉，你就能以更广阔的视野给你带来永久的幸福。

We can find our happiness ANYWHERE.
Seriously, I am not kidding. We can find our happiness anywhere because our happiness lies beneath us, in our mind, our soul, and most importantly our heart. I know every one of us has our own share of hardness and pain and trust me there is not a single person here who would say they have got no share of hardships and struggles. Even Lord Krishna was brought up without his parents, even Jesus had got blamed for the sins he never did.
So, just remember one thing during hardships “THIS TOO SHALL PASS” and just try to find your happiness.

I know every one of us has our own share of hardness and pain and trust me there is not a single person here who would say they have got no share of hardships and struggles. Even Lord Krishna was brought up without his parents, even Jesus had got blamed for the sins he never did.
So, just remember one thing during hardships “THIS TOO SHALL PASS” and just try to find your happiness.

Happiness v/s Gratification
So, what is the difference between the two?
The difference is, when you say, where can I find happiness, you essentially mean gratification. Satisfaction that is a result of fulfillment of a desire. Because you are asking for something outside.
So, then you get answers like, after I do this (say donate money, or earn some more, or buy something), I will be happy. You don't mean happy. You mean gratified.
You will be satisfied after completing your goal.
That is gratification.
Happiness on the other hand, is quite different. In fact I believe, none of us even knows what happiness is for we haven't ever experienced it at all. We have confused it with gratification.
Because happiness is never a part of where, in what, etc. It is never outside of you or beyond this moment.

Man always looks for pleasure / gratification. Whole point of living is to maximize the pleasure and minimize the pain.
But we also want the gratification /pleasure to last permanently and not wither away. We all have tried various things. Experiments. We got our first salary. We bought a gift for someone. We bought our first car. We bought a house. We had kids. We donated to charity.
But we know everything fades away.
We want something permanent. And hence the eternal question and endeavor to be 'Happy'! And hence the eternal longing for 'something more'.
Happiness can probably be defined as this permanent state of pleasure. A pleasure that doesn't wither away with time.

How can we be happy?
The answer to that how, is going within. It is in understanding our own selves. It is in understanding the 'seeker' inside us and not the 'sought' (happiness here).
It is also in understanding that there is no end to this road. It is like an endless flowing river. There is no conclusion.
When we understand that experientially and not just intellectually, as a mere bye product, we are happy! And we are no longer seeking happiness.

Wherever you choose to, it’s not a tangible asset that you can touch and find somewhere but it’s more a state of mind that you have to develop. I think you’ll find happiness in perspective. -
If you lost a loved one, in the abundance of sadness that you are, you can be happy about the fact that you were fortunate to have them share their life with you and be a part of your experience of being human.
You can find happiness in hope. And hope, it’s everywhere around you. There’s a pandemic out there now, someone's happy about the fact that their safe and sound health-wise, someone’s happy they’re able to make a difference to people’s lives by serving on the frontline. Another may find joy in being able to finally pursue a task they’ve been putting off due to other commitments.
Find happiness in progress. People get happy when they move from one stage to another, which is primarily the reason we celebrate birthdays, to honour the progress we’ve made as we grow older. People do graduations solely to honour their progress through their education. Progress is a key driver of happiness and we’re all progressing in so many different ways

Find joy in the pursuit of gratitude. There’s happiness available to those who can find reasons to thank life for. Be it the fact that your healthy, or that you have a job or even any other human construct, developing a sense of gratitude through the elements of your life can make you significantly happier and mindful.
Joy isn't something you can have 24/7. I haven’t found one person say that they’re happy all throughout. In the experience that is their life, happiness is the dose of medicine that you get in intervals that set out the events in your life. However, people refrain from feeling everything. It’s so important to know that happiness is being able to feel everything. Happiness exists in depression too. I’ve seen people who breakdown smile, it’s just that for them that smile is a rather fleeting emotion.
Find happiness in who you are. Each person is different and if you can truly accept yourself in who you are, in your own skin, credit yourself for that. If a blind person can find joy in the fact that their sense of hearing is better , then I’m sure we can find it in so many more things.

I don't know what others think about me but I find happiness in small small things like spending time with my street dogs, taking pictures of colourful flowers, scrolling pictures of college time, listening music , eating white sauce pasta , wearing new clothes again and again, watching bigboss episodes, meeting friends, spending time with my bestfriend, video call with my bestfriend, painting my nails, shopping, feeding street dogs and cute cute puppies, uploading pictures on instagram account, cooking, teaching my students, sleeping .

Happiness is found between us and is a result of good positive attitudes towards each other. We tend to seek happiness through food, sex, family, shelter and a night of drinking or a pay raise. Usually happiness is felt by us when we receive something or gain in some way but seldom do we seek happiness for the other which is true happiness.
True happiness is when you allow yourself to be happy for someone else. To desire more for them than yourself just like a parent looks to it’s child and wishes for it to be more successful than his or her self.
We will find true happiness in the pursuit of happiness for others.
