I had 2 rounds of Adriamycin and 2 rounds of Cisplatin and I wish I couldn't remember them. I was nearly dead anyway when my doctor started me on it (came to the emergency room with a lung full of fluid, congestive heart failure, a heart rate of 160, and unable to lay flat because I couldn't breathe, and therefore couldn't sleep). The ER techs had to rig up an office chair for me to sit in for a CT and MRI so they could figure out what was wrong. They ended up finding a tumor over 8cm wide and 17cm long pressing into my heart between the heart and the lung. Four ronds of chemo later and a chest crack and here I am. I'm three years cancer free now, so I guess everything turned out okay in the end.

I've had a few kidney stones and can tell you pissing them out is easy. The real bad pain is caused by the stone blocking the tube from your kidney to your bladder, which causes you kidney to fill so mush it starts getting micro tears. Those tiny tears of your kidney are what hurt. It feels like getting stabbed in your lower back, then the knife being twisted slowly for hours on end.

That was so freaky I’ve never looked it up or asked about it, I just try to forget it happened. I got dropped off and was standing in line to check in and was bent forward with my weird hands gasping, I was seriously okay with dying as long as I didn’t have to wait, I wanted the pain finished.

They took X-rays and realized the set was not good, so they had to re-break my ankle and set it correctly. That part hurt the most.

Dilaudid was the only thing that kept me from stabbing myself in the eye with a pocket knife to distract myself from the pain. My dad showed up at the hospital right as they gave me my first dose, and I felt this wave of "fuck it" wash over me like I've never felt before. It was incredible. I then proceeded to pass out, wake up 20 minutes later, and pick up a conversation with him that he and I had been having about 2 weeks prior about the differences between the 6.0 and the 7.3 Ford powerstroke diesel. I finished making my point about how the 6.0 isn't bad as long as it has been studded, turned to him, and he said and I quote "What in the cornbread fuck are you talking about?"
