How do you manage the hotel living stuff since you're a foreigner? i know for a fact that there are only limited amount of hotel who can legally host foreigners, so I was always a little afraid to go to rural areas when I was in China fearing that I wont be able to find a place to sleep.

Once I was biking all the way from Zhejiang to Hainan, endless mountains. Many times only 20-30 km per day because the road rised from nearly sea level to 1200 meters above. Beautiful views everywhere. That was 30 years ago but people and villages still look the same. Thank you Katherine all the videos

So far, this is perhaps the most beautiful countryside ride. I love rain, mist, overcast sky, quiet and fall colours. But in Malaysia, there is hardly any mist except in the highlands. And there is not fall here to talk of hehehe.....Rain and overcast sky and quiet add a sense of mystery and foreboding but these also add to the romance and magic yohoho. So, overall, I do love this countryside ride the most so far! Bravo!

Although it can get very soggy and wet, I feel a sense of serenity when I walk or cycle in the rain... It kind of adds an extra dimension to the trip...

Lived mostly in Qingtian and Lishui during the summer breaks as a child (I live in Sweden). I went back to China to Wenzhou in 2019 because my grandpa was suddenly hospitalized due to cancer so I didnt really get to see a lot.

I injured my knee from running too much , I used to do super long running tours in rural areas and I just went too hardso I switched to biking , my knee is fine with that as long as I don't bike uphill

Nice one for sharing uour journey...I also love riding here in the UK all be it off road...its too dangerous and busy to road ride compared to your routes...looks like you pick some seriously lush routes.
Did you ever bike as much in the US it looks like cars haven't over taken yet as much in China.

No haha I actually wasn't into biking in the US at all except to get around my local neighborhood . I want to try some bike tours when I go back in august but I think there will be a lot of logistical challenges, roads in most places are not designed with bikes in mind unfortunately
