The advantage of electric vehicles is that their maintenance costs are incredibly low. The cost of charging is almost negligible compared to the cost of fuel consumption. This is very cost-effective for working class. One-third of households in the community where I live use electric vehicles with green license plates. I also plan to replace petrol cars with electric cars after I get married.

I visited China only once, in the early 90s. I was awestruck by the enormous productivity I saw everywhere. In those years, much of it was latent, waiting to be awakened.
My awareness of this took place many miles outside Beijing. After several hours by bus, we encountered somewhere between a ten to fifteen mile stretch where the highway was under construction. I saw only one piece of heavy equipment along this entire section of the highway. What I saw, instead, were a few thousand people, men and women, working on the road using hand tools (shovels, etc.) and carting sacks of stone on their backs. I also noticed that many of those laborers were, oddly, wearing business clothes. I asked our bus driver what that was about. He said that they came out on their lunch breaks to work.
I have no idea what their motivation was, maybe it was a “stick” and/or maybe a carrot. Either way, there was no way to fail to be impressed. I remembered when my sociology professor posed a question to our class about what is the greatest force on earth. His answer? A group of people dedicated to a single purpose.

Same thing goes for the women. Maybe the financial expectations are lower, but their overall responsibility is just as heavy as men.

No, it is not. Don’t try to be biased and anti-EV.
It seems still you are living in the coal era. The UK is producing 52% of its energy from renewable resources. So many countries are doing while I am writing this. Have you heard nuclear, wind, tidal waves, hydroelectric, solar energy?
Moreover, EVs reduce pavement pollution. More people will breathe clean air in urban areas.

Besides (Shresth’s comment), pollution in a single power plant is more easier to contain than massive car pollution all over the city. CO2 emitted from the power plant might be consumed by forests near by.

Because the electric car using the power is 90% efficient. But the millions of fuel cars are barely even 30% efficient.
Then of course, 100 power plants powering millions of EVs is way better than millions of fuel cars polluting inside city. Same logic as 1 bus with 40ppl on board pollutes less than 10 cars with 4 ppl each in them.

Obviously the elite in the States is smarter than average workers and local government officials in China. Chinese is just more collaborative in construction projects. I cannot count how many government department and suppliers will be involved in the construction but they quietly work together and smoothly in just few days. Huawei setup and provide 5G network there in 2 days, but before that, State Grid had ensure electricity is ready within half day.
