This question is not clear about the followings:
How much is the debt amount?
What is the interest rate you are paying presently on different debt amounts?
Who has borrowed this amount?
Is it due to failures of parental family business or a startup business?
Is it due to your partner in the business cheated you?
How to pay ?
(if you do not have any saving or any income or no bank or NBFC will give you loan or no one of relatives or friends will give you money)
Your family debts are to be cleared by you only. No one will help you on that.
Pay the high interest debt first.
Sell your your home where you are staying and purchase a smaller one far outscort of the city.

See if that differential about covers your debt.
All the family members depending on the capabilities and competencies, should look for any job to sustain the lives(there is no other way)
Life will take a turn at one moment and things will change.
Save as much as you all can.
We need to come out of it by doing hard work.
There is no short cuts.
If you are too lucky, someone will help you in any way.
Watch it out..Do not give up.

I have been graduated from a well known university, which stands to be one of the top 10 engineering colleges in India. I am in a good position job wise and I do earn a pretty decent salary.
But I have huge amount of debts due to some losses my family had few years back. To be precise we were almost 70+ lakhs in debts and I tried my best to clear them from the past 6 years. I have done multiple jobs, day night shifts… haven’t bought anything for myself , not even a two wheeler. So far I have been to clear around 20 lakhs or so. As it’s been pretty long almost 6–10 years since my family has made these debts, now everyone wants their money back from us and we are in no position to pay back and I am only bread winner of the family.
I still have the courage, energy to fight and pay everything but everyone is in need and I am unable to do it instantly. Any help/suggestion to come out of this crisis is really appreciated. I will be life long indebted to you.
All of the people we owe money are either family or friends and have trusted us for the past 6 years at least. I want to pay every penny possible. Please understand my situation and get me some help.

Exactly what relation are this “family”? While some feel it is “moral” to pay off debts of relatives, unless your name is on the debt, you may not be legally obligated to do so. Check with a lawyer, and don’t let anyone pressure you to “do the right thing”. If a death is involved, the estate of the deceased will pay debts of this person. Again, see a competent lawyer.

Figure out how deep of a hole you are in already. Stop digging deeper. Once you know how much you owe, devise a plan to eliminate debt.
Paying off debt is hard since you must change your lifestyle and your mindset. It can take a long time for most people. You have to do it in a way that is sustainable while you live your life. You might have close friends who continue to spend when you must not spend. Once you change your mindset and begin paying it off, you must continue on the same path and not return to spending borrowed money.

Two choices. Lower your monthly expenses or make more money or a combination of both.
Options for making more money.
A. Learn a skill of value or get certified in a skill of value. Then use that to find a higher paying job.
B. Work a job that has undesirables, since jobs with undesirables have to pay more to convince people to work them. Examples; night shift, dangerous, work in the elements, away from home.
C. Work an insane amount of hours everyweek, like 65+. Work until you are too tired to spend money.
Do tons of creative research. Tons of ways to get ahead. you can sleep in the sleeper cab for free. Tons of shitty jobs for contractors in the Middle East that pay six figures and provide free lodging.

First and foremost stop creating additional debt.
Second set realistic goals for redusing the debt the you have by paying it down over time.
Third make a plan that supports that goal, then start working the plan.
Fourth track your progress.

Don’t incur it except for important reasons. Almost all of us need a reliable car to get around. Smart people buy a average cost car, on credit, to go back and forth to work to pay for that car.
The bottom line is smart people live within their means and family always come before that overpriced fancy car and 4 bedroom house that you can barely pay for especially since a 3 BR would do.
We Americans are so spoiled.

Face up to it. As stated, you need to document your incomings and outgoings. Once you know how much money you have coming in and how much you have going out, you can start dealing with the situation.
Do you have money coming? Do you have any disposable money each month that can be used to pay debts?
You have had good answers, so I will not repeat them other than add if you work with your creditors, try to convert all the debts to interest-free, so you are only paying off the lump sum. See some good free charity advisers on debt. Do not pay anyone to help you manage the debt;
Answer all letters from creditors over-communicate with them give them no excuse to escalate their actions and costs.
Being in debt happens so many different ways to fall into the trap. If you can improve your income, then that will help with the debts being paid. From now live within your means
Good luck
大家的答案很好,所以我不会重复它们,只是补充说,如果你与债权人合作,尽量将所有债务转换为无息债务,因此你只需一次性付清。看看一些优秀的免费债务慈善顾问。不要付钱给任何人来帮你管理债务;

First of all get all of your debts and write them down. List them from smallest to largest.
Then have a look at your income and write it down.
Do not incur any more debt for the moment. Some people literally put their credit cards in a bag of water and freeze them to stop using them, others leave them at home and only use cash.
Pay your smallest debt off first. Then use the money you were paying that off with to pay extra on the 2nd smallest, until that is paid off. Then use the money you were putting to the 1st and 2nd debt towards the 3rd, until that is paid off. Continue doing this until you only have one debt left, (the largest) then pay the extra money off the last one until that is paid in full.
You will get a feeling of satisfaction every time you pay off each debt. Also by buying with cash, you will stop incurring debt. Once your debts are paid off, you can save money for the future.

the first step is to stop buying. list all what you owe including the monthly interest charged and really see how much money you’re losing on interest alone (that should be enough to scare you). Paying the minimum requested will never get you out of debt. Determine how much you need to pay it off and then get a part time job (maybe weekends) and make the extra money and pay down the debt.

Reduce ALL inessential outgoings. Sell whatever saleable items you have, and pay back as much debt is possible.
Once upon a time cash in savings earnt money, but now cash is valueless, but debt is COSTLY.
Do all you can to reduce costliest debt first.
If you can move your debt to a cheaper lender, do so.
Sell saleable items, reduce all outgoings, work harder, do extra jobs etc.

You are entitled to give or not give anyone your hard earned money. If you absolutely need to give a reason, well use the current pandemic as an excuse. You can say you no longer have any money to give anyone because you've had to make sure all your bills were taken care of since you dont know when this will end. You can even say you are struggling to pay your own and are worried about how you're going to take care of yourself. In general though, you can just say NO and leave it at that.
If you are living under his roof for free though, you may need to consider paying him a reasonable rent so that way he wont be asking for money. Otherwise you can move out and have your own place to do as you wish and wont need to give money to anyone but a landlord and utility company.

Anyone who would offer to pay your debt is likely to request that you pay them additional interest. Thus, the best person to pay your debt, without you incurring further debt, would likely to be you.
The very first thing to do is to ‘stop the bleeding’. Revise your monthly spending and look for all expenditure that is not necessary, so that you stop accumulating further debt.
Review your existing debt to ascertain which has the highest interest rate, as that should be the debt you need to repay first and as quickly as possible.
Shop around a number of banks and see if you can consolidate your debt with a lower interest rate.
Live as minimally as you possibly can so that as much of your earnings can go toward paying off the debt each month.
See if you can find additional work that you can do, where all earnings can go toward paying the debt.
Good Luck!

Get rid of your car and use public transportation/walk/ride a bicycle.
Get a roommate or roommates.
Take leftovers or homemade sandwiches to work instead of buying lunch every day.
That is what I did when I was younger, and now that I am retired I have more money than I will most likely ever need. I was still commuting by bike when I was in my 50s. I’m sure some of my co-workers thought I was eccentric, but I also saved time and money by not having to go to the gym. And I love riding my bike to this day.

I am not clear on what you mean. But from what I read, I don’t think you can file anything against your father. He is not required to give you money. Why do you think you’re entitled to his hard earned money? He is free to do with it what he wants. I am not sure what you mean by “support you.” Does he provide food, clothing, and shelter for you? If yes, that is all he is required to provide. If you mean “support you” in that you ask, “dad, can I borrow $50 to go to the mall.” Then the answer is a clear NO. He doesn’t have to give you that money.
Now, if he is deadbeat and has escaped the child support system, your mother will have to file a motion with the court to ask for child support. But I am guessing, if they are divorced, that he may not have to pay child support because they may have agreed not to.
Without details, it is difficult for me to understand what you mean, exactly.

i agree with the previous answer and will add to it. the question is how old is old? in different states there are different statute of limitations, meaning a debt that has never been paid on or has not been paid any amount since the last payment and is longer than the time allowed by your state, then they really cannot do anything to collect it. they can still report it on your credit report but that is all. after 7 years it goes away, you are in the driver's seat with them or any collection agency. you can tell them if they want anything then remove it from your credit file. if not then you will get nothing and they cannot stop you or bother you ever.

How do I tell my mom I don’t want her to have access to my bank account? I’m 17 and just got $35k from SS. My brother’s in charge of the money because my mom is a felon. I’m opening a bank account and don’t want her to have access but she is angry.
Do not give her your account the money will disapear.
Refuse at all costs.
Do not let bank statements, bank account number etc in the house or in your purse.
Do not have any of your paperwork with SSN, driving license, I D, signature bank cheque in the house. Do not talk about the money with anyone. No one needs to see your bank account.
I would move away.
If she is angry and a fellon trust me she is looking for a way to get her hands on the money.
Do not talk about the money and move if its possible.
You let your guard down, guaranteed you will have money disapear.

I would imagine Millennials are working hard to pay off their debts just like every other group who has incurred debt. though. There seems to be more focus on Millennial debt than I recall on any other group debt. This is likely caused by Bernie Sanders' focus on it promising to pay off all Millennial student debt. He's bringing the attention and focus on this debt in order to try to get the votes of Millennials. He's also promised to legalize weed and made a big deal about it to garner those same votes, and I'll have to say it's been working for him. I agree with the weed part, and partially agree with his promise to cancel student debt. Bernie has found the hot button issues that appeal to Millennials so it remains to be seen if older Democrats will go for those same things because they aren't the most popular issues for most other age groups, especially legalizing weed. He's pushed the Climate Change button pretty hard, and it's popularity seems to have crossed over into all age groups. But to get back to the question, Millennials probably owe more college debt than all other groups so they are probably having more trouble paying them off even with this supposedly great economy, and because they have more total debt. It's a slow go paying down debt. I can promise you that.
