I would suggest staying away from Bali as a resort destination until the law is overturned (although technically not in force yet). Why risk going to an Indonesian jail when you can do anything you want in Thailand, and massages/girls are 10x cheaper.

Just for your information, the ban is only enforcable if either your parents or child files a police report. Although i do agree it is quite irrational, but unless your parents are the type to file an official police report with the intent of imprisoning their child, tourist will be fine and left untouched. Nobody else, be it locals, hotel staff, or the police themselves can file a report.

Alright I've readed it, if I understand it correctly then the tourist wouldn't be affected at all and even local too. Soo let's say you come to Indonesia with your partner and staying together, it will not break the law as long no one from either one of you and your partner family report it, you could spending day as usual. However if you "rent" someone and his or her family reporting it then it's entirely different matter, still I'm bit worried to what extent it could be misuses. I mean in a glance it could be use to blackmail someone right? I'm sure there is some legal protection to countering it for both local and tourist but I'm not sure.

It's just my guess take it like grain of salt but I think the the law is there to push the number of those "people" and also to minimize the risk of teenagers having s*x. Well, they never say it explicitly so we wouldn't know for sure but whatever the reason I'm hoping it'll not backfire.

This will definitely affect Indonesians tourism. Balinese locals struggled alot during covid from lack of tourist during lockdowns. Tourist won't be affected as Much there are lots of other lovely islands in Philippines, Thailand, Mauritius, fiji etc

@@adamantobserver8655 it's not tourist's obligation to understand some wired ununiversial laws made by ur gov. Tourists can simply choose another alternative like Thailand instead of taking the risk, which is definitely easier, aren't they?
