What made you smile today?
I am working as a software engineer in Bangalore.Today morning,I boarded a bus to go to my office. It was very crowded. The bus fare was 19 rupees.I gave 20 rupees to a bus conductor and asked for a ticket. He gave me the ticket to my office (for 19 rupees). He did not give me the remaining one rupee.
I asked him to give the one rupee. He told that he was not having 1 rupee change and he would give it to me when I am getting down.
3 other passengers were also travelling to my office. They also gave 20 rupees for a ticket and the conductor did not pay the remaining 1 rupee to each of them.I was observing this.
Usually, when the bus reaches my office, nearly around 30 or 40 passengers (all are IT employees) will get down and conductor can/will not give the change at that bus stop. He will keep that with himself (as a commission!!).That is why he was not intentionally giving us the remaining change at the time of giving a ticket even though he had change.

Now let's come to the story. The bus was approaching my office.I asked a change of one rupee from the conductor. He said, ” I do not have the change”.The bus had reached my office.
Then an old lady boarded the bus. While seeing her, I understood that she would be poor and helpless. So, what I did was I yelled in the bus, “Hi all, how many of you need the 1 rupee change from the conductor? Please raise your hands”. Approximately 20 hands were raised.
So I asked them, “Friends, are you ready to give your one rupee to this Grandma for her bus ticket?”
Everybody said. “Yes”.So,I asked the conductor to give her a ticket with that 20 rupees. He stared at me and then gave the ticket to that Granny.
Everybody started smiling(except the conductor). The smile from that Granny made me to smile with pride and happiness!!

For me it would be having friends or a boyfriend that i love, that care for me, worry for me, gives me huggies when i need them, accepts me and doesnt judge me and id do the same for them.
Never wanted anything more than that really.

What is one thing that is necessary to be happy?
To me it's the absence of a pursuit.
If you are always chasing something it is never with you. Whatever you chase will always be moving away.
Happiness cannot be when you find love or get the job or quit the job or get the apartment or resolve your inner turmoil.
It absolutely has to be found in the right now- the imperfect, unsettled, painful now.

Charissa Enget
What brings you happiness in your day to day life?
This is my dad.
Obviously, he's not my birth dad.
But, as soon as I got to Thailand, he let me know he was my new Thai father. He even told my parents when they visited “When Charissa is in America, she is your daughter. But in Thailand, she is my daughter. I will always take care of her.”
When I first arrived, I was helpless, lonely, and unable to speak the language. Dr. Jao did everything he could to make me comfortable and adjusted. He made his students hang out with me so I wouldn't be alone. He made his other students take me to breakfast, lunch, and dinner to help me order food. He got a phone plan for me. He made me text him whenever I traveled anywhere just so he would know I was safe. He got a motorcycle for me to borrow when I said I wanted my own transportation. The other grad students called me “Dr. Jao's princess".

I truly could not have survived here without him.
Every day, Dr. Jao takes me and his other grad student to lunch. He pays for our meals and talks with us until we are finished eating.
Afterwards, he takes us to a coffee shop. He always orders a hot cocoa. I always thought of hot cocoa as a winter treat, but my Thai dad loves to drink hot cocoa every day, it's a true joy in his life.
Dr. Jao sits and talks with us for an hour or more. Sometimes he tells me about his childhood. Other times he wants to talk about my travels. Some days he just wants to laugh and joke. He also likes to make me practice speaking Thai.
It’s my absolute favorite part of every day, it brings me so much joy.
When I think about leaving Thailand after I graduate, drinking hot cocoa with my Thai dad is truly what I’ll miss the most.

What is the most difficult thing to learn and accept about life?
People usually aren't listening. They are either thinking of what they are going to say next, or something else entirely.
Everyone is insecure about something, it's not just you.
You are going to die no matter what.
Your kids will experience hardship.
The bigger an organization is, the harder it is to make a change even if the need is so obvious.
Some people are bad and have bad intentions.
Many people (not all) will steal $100 from you today even if it means missing the opportunity to earn $1000 from you next week.
You will never be 100% sure about decision ever. But always make a decision because it's better to go back and fix it than to never make it at all.
There is ALWAYS someone who makes more money than you, is more fit, has a better looking spouse, has an easier life, good things happen to them. Usually more than just one.
How you react to an event, problem, emotion, or anything, is more important than the actual event, problem, emotion or whatever. You cannot control your emotions, you cannot control others, all you can control is how you are going to react. Sometimes it's easy but usually it's really really hard.

What are the things that make you happy in your life?
During my childhood, my parents went through a lot of financial crisis. It was one thing after another.
First, my grandfather fell sick. My father spent a lot of money on him, but we couldn’t save him. He passed away when I was in kindergarten.
Then, before my father could get out of the financial issues from his medical bills, his business partner cheated on him. So, he lost a lot of money.
Again, before we could get out of that, my grandmother fell sick and we spent a lot of money. But, unfortunately she passed away fighting cancer.
In spite of all this, my father always made every passing day better for us. I used to see all my school friends go on trips during summer holidays with their family. Few went on International trips as well. For us, even a trip to our hometown was a luxury. We were not able to afford such things in our life. An International trip was a dream!

We had a snack quota of 5 Indian rupees, every evening. I used to go in the evening to buy snacks for me and my elder sister using that 5 rupees. I still remember, one day, I got something for 6 rupees. It was 1 rupee more than what we were supposed to use. I bought it along with other groceries and went back home.
I was so worried I overused the money. I told my mom that I will compensate it with buying stuff for 1 rupee lesser the next day. She hugged me and cried.
That day has distinctively stayed on my head.
Fast forward to few years later.
I scored good marks. I got into a good college. I got a good job. I moved to another company with a better salary. I bought them a house.

I took them on a domestic flight. Their very first flight journey. My mom was super happy.
Then, I moved to Paris and now I am bringing them here for few days. Yes, they got their visa approved yesterday and my dream is coming true! And, my mom is more happy.
They’re going to be on their very first International flight soon. I am going to take them around in Paris <3
You ask me, “what makes me happy?”
I say, “it’s to surprise and give back as much as I can and as long as I can to the two people who made so many sacrifices to get me where I am today!”
Giving back to parents is not an obligation guys, it’s one of the most important purpose of our life! :)

Analyze the blogs you like. It is so much easier to start with an example. I am not talking about copying others, just getting some inspiration and finding successful methods. Don’t forget to analyze which blogs are getting the most traffic - SimilarWeb can help you out with that. If a blog is getting a lot of traffic, research what could be the key factors of that.
You can even analyze the SEO strategy of other websites! Neil Patel allows you to do that through his own website.
Remember that SEO is important but Content is still the king. No one ever got traffic without doing anything BUT it doesn’t mean that expensive ads will give you what you want. The most important thing here is content and you need to make sure it’s rock-solid, though SEO is also playing a huge role in blogging.
Set up social media platforms. Online presence is important and using social media can help you increase your user engagement. It’s the best tool to notify people about new articles and plans. Facebook and Instagram can help you grow and receive feedback from your readers directly. Also, you can implement the lixs from your blog post to Facebook and Instagram to gain more followers there and create a community for them.

As social media channels (and even effective ones) the personal profiles can be used too. A lot of bloggers have their blogs lixed in the “About me” section of their Facebook and Instagram profiles. Self-promotion for friends and followers can increase traffic and popularity.
Create a top-notch design. Even when content is so important, you have to make sure that your visitors can easily read it and find it. The eye-catching design is a must to keep the readers in the blog for more than a few seconds. You can create a design yourself, or you can use existing templates - WordPress has a lot of them! If you have no idea about the latest trends, give a shot for a minimalistic look. It will make your blog look more professional and easy to navigate.
Congrats! Now your blog is ready to storm the internet. Be sure to keep it upxed and it will stay on the successful path. Here Google Analytics and other platforms that help to track your blog growth or plan its future will come in handy. A goal without a plan is just a wish, so make it real and enjoy the journey!

What was the most terrible day of your life?
I am a foreigner living in India. I got married to an Indian man who had lied everything about himself and his family. Including how many siblings they were, that he had earlier been married and divorced because they had asked for dowry and he had been imprisoned due to the same. He even hid the fact that he was admitted to a mental hospital for 8 months. These were all OK, even though shocking as and when I discovered them.
He forcefully made me convert to Sikhism, even though I am not a follower of any religion by practice and I only believe in Divinity.
Later he had multiple affairs and even had paid sex. After about 3 years I realized it was going nowhere and that he was having psychological disorders which was beyond my bearing level as he was mentally and emotionally very abusive and almost killed my self esteem.
But these are still OK. We decided to separate and then also mutually divorce. I stopped going to social events with him so that he could meet a new person while I became a workaholic.

After our separation I requested my company to transfer me overseas so that the time and distance would heal both of us. After 1.5 years I was transferred back to India and this is where the most miserable day of my life happened. I was in a board meeting when I was informed by foreign registration office that on a complaint of my ex husband my visa had been cancelled and I needed to leave the country in 48 hours. I put the phone down and I recieve another call from a relative who worked in our embassy in India that I have been reported by my ex husband that I have converted to Sikhism and I should never go back home till investigations are complete.
So I was there in a board meeting, had 48 hours to leave the country and I had no country to go to.
I am so grateful to my ex,because of him I learnt so much and became a very strong woman. A woman that no one can mess with anymore and a woman who knows her rights. When I won that battle I was a new person. I blossomed to my true self. Knowing I have the power beyond anyone's imagination.
Edit 1:
Thank you everyone for all your beautiful comments. I am anonymous right now because I am writing a book on my story.
I am well settled, the complaint was false as he had bribed his way through the system so I won the battle. Now helping others to overcome such traumas.
Once again thank you. It's heart warming to see so many beautiful people exist.
