Why would anyone not want to travel?
I can answer for myself here but I'll just qualify myself before I do.
Money is not an issue. I am 35, have a relatively successful corporate career with car, home and education loans paid for. I have no kids and no pets and can travel to a different international location every month with ease.
I have traveled a fair bit so I'm not a frog in a well. I've seen most of Europe, South and south east Asia, the Middle East, the US of A and New Zealand.
Here's why I'll probably never see another country again except to visit friends/family who stay there unless I'm forced to travel on work.
For me, a vacation is the opposite of work (which is quite stressful) and so, I expect that my brain can switch off while I'm on vacation. Unfortunately, this is the opposite of what happens when you are planning an itinerary to an unknown location. You need to do research, plan, coordinate (and often with others). There is no switching off here.
The process: you need to start applying for visas and providing some sizable documentation that comes along with such requests. Adds to your to-do list.
The process of packing and unpacking as you travel through multiple locations is the opposite of fun and enjoyment for me.
The chance (driven by experience) of losing money, baggage or some important ticket or documentation feels like I need to be constantly vigil all the time.

The travel itself is painful. I don't enjoy listening to the sounds of an airplane engine for 10 - 16 hours. I don't like the idea of sharing the loo with hundreds of strangers. I don't like the idea of receiving food on someone else's schedule and not when I'm hungry. I don't like the idea of reaching a place in a different time zone jet lagged. All of this feels like, I'm really taking on a lot of struggle to enjoy and that doesn't seem to make much sense.
Sometimes, you explore with travelers (cultural immersion, breathing in the atmosphere, wanderlust kind of people) and sometimes with tourists (been there, done that, take a selfie, post on social media kind of people). I'm neither. I don't do experiences just because they are new. I do them because I think they will be better than ones I've had. In every subsequent travel, as I've grown older, I've realized the experiences I'm looking for aren't going to be going to be found in just visiting a new place.
Travelling abroad is expensive. Not necessarily in terms of money but more in terms of time. I have 2 weeks to do what I like. Am I going to go through the whole process of planning and getting there and spending 2 weeks of my time when I know the chances of me feeling elated or awed are miniscule? I would rather use the money and time to do something I KNOW I will like.

Lastly, if you've had the opportunity to work with several global organisations, you would have the chance to meet different people from different cultures and gather different perspectives so that's not something you'd get ONLY if you travel.
So, is there nothing good about traveling for me?
The answer is clear: Yes! There is!
The feeling of gazing at the northern lights in Finland, walking across the London Bridge, watching the hills, sun and sea come together from a hill top in New Zealand, experiencing free society in Christiania, the highs of hot chocolate in a coffee shop in Amsterdam, the nostalgia of Disneyland or the sights of beautiful landscapes in Switzerland are not replicable. No photo or video will do them justice.
But is it worth it to do more travel hoping for equally unmatched experiences?
The answer for me is equally clear: nope! ;-)

For the people who don't like travelling, what are your reasons?
For those who don't like travelling, there are a variety of reasons.
For some, it can be the cost associated with travel that makes them hesitant to take trips.
Others may not enjoy being away from home and their daily routines for extended periods of time.
Some people simply don't have the desire or energy to plan out an entire trip and would rather stay in one place for a while instead.
Finally, there are those who just aren't interested in exploring new places or cultures - they'd rather stick close to what's familiar!

Why do some people not want to travel?
One thing not mentioned yet is that some people don’t want to travel because they are simply traveled out.
I’ve spent a lot of time in airports, hotels, and tourists’ buses. I’ve seen a lot of states and countries. At first, it’s really magical, especially when you’re younger. And then you travel, travel, travel, and maybe have a some mediocre to bad experiences and realize that you wasted a lot of time and money. Travel starts to feel exhausting, almost like a chore. The novelty of Exotic New Places isn’t so novel anymore, and one place feels pretty similar to the last. It really stops feeling “fun and new” when you have to do it as part of your job or when you go to the same places repeatedly. Hello, L.A. and San Francisco!
Eventually, a “staycation” doesn’t sound too bad after all. You can spend time catching up with friends and family and get things done around the house. You can travel in other ways that involve your mind and body—learn new skills, hobbies, and sports. Read new novels. Go to local art galleries and museums. See a symphony. Lose yourself in riveting documentaries.
Been there, done that, got the passport stamp.

Travel is not an expenditure, it is an investment in yourself, and a damn good one at that.
I am 26, and I drive a used motorcycle with 50,000+ KM under the belt. I could have either replaced it with a shiny new ride, or spend that money travelling in Africa with friends. The choice was simply, I like buying experiences more than obxts.
Similarly, I could have used my salary to buy a big TV or learn scuba diving in remote island in Malaysia last year. Again the choice was simple to make, especially when I consider that I made new friends (NOT colleagues, NOT acquaintances, NOT coworkers). I chose to invest in experiences rather than spend on obxts.
Your shiny new gadget will get obsolete in two years, but that dinner table story you will earn during your travel, will get richer and richer every time you recount.

People who travel a lot, what are the biggest no-no's people should look out for when travelling?
Standing out too much. You don’t wany to attract too much attention. It’s better just drift under the radar. That way you can quietly meet the locals. Become allies with them for the greater good, whatever the situation.
Proximity often breeds friendship. Maybe not always a lot of talking. It’s even OK, sometimes, if neither traveller speaks a shared language well. That it itself can be a bounding experience. Giggles over difficulties and miss-understandings.
A Scottish lady once said to me, “Want me to put your kit in my boot?” (Meaning, your backback in my trunk…) I laughed and returned, “What did you just say to me?” (even though I knew what she meant…).

What do you do when you travel?
I do a variety of things when I travel. There are times I travel just to soak in the different sights, smells, and cuisine of a place and there are times, I just travel to relax, sit by the beach, and sip cocktails.
I travel fairly often to new countries and it’s typically with my husband or with members of the family. It’s probably not very experimental because I like travelling with people I know really well. That includes my best friend too with whom I have travelled a few times.
When I travel to soak in the different sights, smells, and cuisine of a place, the following is what I do :
Make sure my hotel is in the centre of the city.
Try to walk as often as I can to explore different lanes and bylanes of the city.
Do some homework beforehand on the places that I want to visit, in that city.
Sample some local cuisine after taking recommendations from the locals (Of course, depending on the ingredients that I like)
Visit all the important landmarks first.
Follow it up by visiting the city’s hidden gems, and other local recommendations.
Depending on the city I am in, I explore the nightlife in cities/places that are well known for it like Amsterdam, Monaco etc.
When I travel to just relax, then it’s fairly simple. I book us into a super fun hotel (Mostly a really fun beach hotel), get a spa and salon appointment, sit by the beach, relax, sip some cocktails, and shop a bit too.
My most recent holiday was over last weekend, and I’d say it was a bit of both the above types at the French Riviera and Monaco.

Why should you travel when you're young?
When you are young you have the ability to be very impressionable and having the chance to see different things that your parents or guardian did not expose you to while you where a small child will give you a chance to expand on who you will become in the future. Traveling when you are young gives you a leg up compared to some of your peers. when you go a different place you have an opportunity to meet people who have different interests and values as well as prospective. they often will have a different social outlook and will share dissimilar cultural values. the idea is to be able to be in a world where you can be separate from the things that kept you when you where a child so you can become a better person.
The alternative is follows. if you do not choose to travel when you are young, you lose out on the prospect of learning what its like to change your mind and make new discoveries and to continue to explore the world. many people no matter where they live choose to live a very narrow and confined existence they will learn to accept less . often they will seek to perpetuate the status Quo. some will remain single for there whole life and others will get married to a person they knew as a child and they will start a family in the same community they grew up in, these people often have the same friends and will visit the same places as they did when you where younger, often they will wear the same cloths and listen to the same music as well.
don't let yourself become that person as they are very boring and normal. the world doesn't need boring and normal. it needs special and unique people who are willing to live on the fringe of society. people who aren't willing to settle and and live a predictable life.

Travel is a secret to my energy and laugh. Travelling teaches a lot about life and I second that. Let me share my experience of how travelling has helped me to evolved as an individual.
Madikeri - commonly known as Coorg is an hillstation in the southern India. And yes its a place that I have dreamed of Where I can free my mind. I hear the sound of seasons and lose all sense of time. Here are some recommendations of places to stay and visit in Madikeri.
Club Mahindra- It is an excellent choice which offers a romantic environment alongside a lot of amenities. A perfect place for staycation. Amazed by the hospitality, the amenities and the food they serve. Club Mahindra offers a luxurious experience at very affordable prices. A glimpse of places to roam around.

Raja's seat- It is the most popular tourist place in madikeri. Raja's seat is a seasonal garden of flowers and artificial fountains you lost yourself there in the soothing environment.
Abbey falls- The falls has a wild beauty. Water cascading over rocks into the dam.the water flowing beautifully and the lushness of area around creates a refreshing atmosphere.
Food in Coorg - filter coffee is the most popular and preferred beverage in madikeri. Apart from the normal South Indian cuisine pandi curry and rice is their staple food.
Travelling has helped me appreciate things a bit more in life. While on travel we don't have an access to our comfort place, comfy food, however when we come back to home we suddenly start appreciating the things we have and value our life a little more.
Have you ever been to Madikeri?

Do travellers ever feel like they've travelled enough?
Absolutely!
My Grandparents travelled extensively in their retirement, from the early-1970s, up until the late 80s. They visited well over 100 different countries, and all 7 continents. I inherited my travel bug from them (only 30 countries on 5 continents so far)
My Grandfather, “Pop” took a lot of movie film ( super-8), and edited his films into mini-documentaries, and my Grandmother, “Nan” wrote diaries and collected postcards, brochures and photos, which she dutifully compiled into a scrap-booked library of memories.
They aged. ….as we all must. Illnesses, aching bones and just general “slowing down” not only lessen the ability to travel, but also lessen the desire. When it becomes an effort just to get out of bed in the morning and have your breakfast, the idea of getting on a plane and having an adventure seems ludicrous. Travel is not just physical, it also requires a lot of mental effort.
However, having done all the travelling already, every documentary/news report/travelogue/slide show on anywhere in the world, brought back the personal memories of those places. “Virtual” travel from the comfort of your own house is just as good as actually being there. Plus, if you need a rest, you just switch off the TV or close the scrap-book and “go home”.
Both my Nan and Pop felt they had travelled enough. Mind you, they travelled more then anyone I have ever met in my life, so the bar is pretty high.

Ageing would be the number one reason I think I would stop travelling.
Another good reason for me might also be that I have pretty much done my A-list. You know, those “big ticket” places: the Pyramids, Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Disneyland….. the places you learn about as a small child, and always yearn to see one day.
I have done a lot of my B-list too…… those places where, as a kid, I’d heard of them, but never put them as a priority, or never thought I would actually do (but somehow managed to fit them in somewhere anyway) Or places I became fascinated with as a young adult, and thought “yeah, sounds like a great place”.
By the time I get a lot of C-list places ticked off, I’d be repeating a lot of places (already been to the US and UK four times each, and France, Switzerland and New Zealand twice) in order to see that one palace I missed, or that far corner of Scotland not yet seen. (Is it really any different to the rest of Scotland?) …..and I’d be going a long way out of my way to get to places that really aren’t worth all the extra effort (or money) to get there (do I really need to see that one volcano in Iceland that I can’t even pronounce? I have seen a few smokin’ volcanoes elsewhere)

The list of places I yearn to see - and would regret NOT seeing, is an ever-shortening list. My travels in recent years, and in the future, are more about fulfilling this list in a more methodical and calculated way, rather than the youthful “see where the breeze takes me” attitude of my 20s and 30s.
I reckon I am starting to age already in this sense - knowing that time (and money) is limited, and there are only so many places a person can realistically visit. …so I’d better make each trip count. I know there will be a time when I will no longer be able to travel. I just hope my desire to travel runs out first. I’d hate to be a bitter crusty old biddy in a nursing home cursing my feeble bones for not being able to walk the Inca Trail like a 25-year-old.
Realistically, at some point, you *want* to feel like you’ve travelled enough. Cos then you can enjoy your remaining years with no regrets. …..and you’d have lots of scrap-books to look at.
