In a way, it is treated similarly as hotdogs in the US.
Decent street food, could be quite good when you need a quick bite, but hardly something one with order at a fancy restaurant.

Many pre charged high-end cafeterias also offer Fried Rice, because they don't have to worry about Fried Rice taking the spotlight from other dishes. And, some restaurants provide Fried Rice made with more high-end ingredients, such as seafood and rare fungi.
Fried Rice is usually overnight rice. Because they have less moisture, the rice grains are easy to separate.
In the typical Chinese dietary structure, Fresh green leafy vegetables make up a very large proportion. So we say that Fried Rice is unhealthy because its nutritional structure is unreasonable. But this cannot prevent it from becoming one of our favorite staple foods, just like noodles, Rice noodles and dumplings.
