I'm leaving China after 14 years
In my last video I shared with you that I quit my job and many of you were curious what I am planning on doing next. In this video I share with you my plans for the future. Many of you thought that I'm leaving China and that's correct! I plan on leaving in the summer, but where am I going? Watch the video to find out!

We are all strangers on this planet and time to time we've been called to another places. It seems that even IT specialist cannot quite afford a property in Shanghai. They need to have a business with high income to really afford it. It is good to rent place in Shanghai, - but probably will never ever get to the point of buying. Hope you gonna feel it "home" at your new place.

Shanghai and Beijing are so expensive for buying property. Especially if you want to live somewhat close to the center and not on the outskirts of the city.

Good decision. You have only one life. When it is over, it is over. If you don't fear change, then you should move for new experiences every few years until you can move no more. That would also be my advise for everyone out there. Personally, I had moved to a different country and a different job every 5 - 6 years. (BTW, one foot in grave already������)

HK is extremely fast-paced. It depends on what part of Greater China, particularly big city vs remote rural.

It probably depends on your perspective and experiences. I can see how some parts of China are slower than the USA. For me it seems like Beijing is always 'on', and things don't slow down.

I think you should venture a bit and return to China, since earning a living as teacher in US or in other part of Western country is very hard, you will sink back to poverty and you will not be able to buy a house from your salary. No company in US needs editor or journalist. Sorry if my advice make you unhappy.

I very much support your choice. I think we are human beings. We are not just a tree or a grass, falling leaves and taking root in one place for a lifetime. God gives us a pair of eyes and a pair of legs, just to let us walk. Go and see and feel this world, trees, flowers and plants have no eyes or legs. They can only stay in place, but people are different.people only live one life and there is no afterlife. Why should you trap yourself in one place for your whole life? While you are young and have physical strength and aspirations, go out more and experience the cultural customs of different countries. It is as if you can live several different lives even if you only have one life. I think that even if you are old, you should not live alone in one place. Unless you are really too old to walk, you can choose to travel around for vacation.
