One of my doctors is also Indian. I suppose I could ask for anther model, Chinese perhaps, but she is really good and understanding so I will miss her and her expertise. Had a good dentist once who was presumably from India also.

I used to work for an Indian company and I know that those Indians all came from India. They were a bloody good mob and as I think more about this question I think that perhaps the questioner might just be stirring up trouble. Otherwise perhaps He/She has not been well received by one or two Australians and is judging all by a few.

I have looked at some of the other answers, and there are a few negatives but they are mostly positives.
What I am puzzled with however is that so many people have made their comments attached to my original answer, and not to any of the others.

I wrote my answer as a cynical response to what I saw as a cynical question, and I see that several of the comments have followed this line of taking the piss out of the original questioner.

I have noticed a few (Very few in fact) comments that are in the negative. I have answered them and have now found that some of them have “disappeared”. It is quite amazing how cowardly some people can be, when their view is challenged with facts.

I am also very pleased with the huge number of positives that have been posted here. It is quite gratifying to read them and to know that they are from both Indian and non-Indian Australians as well as some from elsewhere.

What I’m an Aussie, I know plenty of Indian people and I think they are fantastic. Mind you, if I detect a telemarketer caller I am fast to hang up, but telemarketers can be from all nationalities.
if someone specifically doesn’t like Indian people that’s pretty racist. If your in Australia, I really hope your made to feel welcome. Please know someone that makes you feel unwelcome is probably a minority group letting the rest of us Aussies down.

Haven’t seen a non-Indian country that likes Indian, even the Asian hate them. Indian are full of S and always think they’re the center of the universe. They’re all mouth and no trousers, always talk like they know how to do stuff but never deliver. I used to teach in a Professional Year class with more than 100 Indian students, they’re lousy AF and in the end none of them could find a job in Australia and have to drive uber, work in gas station or small eatery for a living until their visas expired. All of the Asian in my class receives corporate jobs at big companies and have now live here permanently.

As for myself, I don’t go to Indian doctors because they are generally arrogant and incompetent. Working in the public service, they generally make the most mistakes but gloss over them by claiming that they are an engineer or whatever.

I don’t dislike them, I just find their accent hard to understand and it frustrates me, but that’s not their fault or mine. I do have some Indian friends, but they are all very fluent speakers of English, and great people to (except when we play cricket).
I am now older but when I was still living with my parents as a youngster, my parents were best friends with our Indian neighbours. They had our house alarm code, and we had theirs, so we could each look after the others properties (or feed pets, take the bins out etc) while they were away.

When we came home from holidays, all our lawns were mowed, and same for them when they returned from holidays (Dad usually made me do it lol).
