Yes ppl do! I have seen ppl literally coming from upper middle class having good education and jobs, but their houses are crap. In kitchen at place where they cook I have seen cockroaches crawling and what not. And don’t even think about bathrooms. But when they go out the amount of makeup they do. And I wonder how can these ppl stay in their house like that! Turns out many ppl do, which is why in foreign countries many landlords are scared to rent their place to Indians as many do not have basic hygiene sense.

The very foundation of the Indian country is messed up because our country was divided into 3 on the basis of religion. Then there are haves and have nots to a level where people, once they get some power, try to abuse it and become corrupt. Our standards for society, standards of living and life in general are non existent. Almost everything is copied from the west. We don’t come up with original ideas to help our population.
Our definition of development is like just because the developed countries have bullet trains, we will build them without any proper infrastructure nor proper training nor proper standards. While the population is unable to get fresh water and goes to bed hungry. Because who wants to deal with that right?
Society is stuck in the 1800s where men and women are not treated equally and women don’t have dignity and don’t feel safe outside their homes.
We will have to re develop and re think everything. Starting from what we can do to make our society better and progress as a nation.
You can call me delusional but I am still optimistic. I still have hope and I want us to do much better in every aspect of life. The next 2 decades are crucial and it will decide if India will be a global player or a spectator
