@truthful3777
I am glad that you spoke with your friend in Cantonese, i thought Cantonese are rare in China as all speak Mandarin. I am sad after Quan hongchan cannot speak Cantonese but only greet Kung Hei Fat Choy in the middle of September and even my Malay friends can speak that too during Chinese New Year.

@alextek24
Hello Cinthia, so happy to see GZ at night, that city where you are is very near from my hometown, Huadu, I just came back to US from China, visiting my parents, I’ve been in China for 6 months, I visited Chimelong Park in GZ, it was so nice. Hope can meet you next year when I go China.

@Networkprofessor
Thanks for the reminder. When I was a teen, I used to follow my siblings night outings. Mid-night is when everyone get together for BBQ. Got memories of the breeze at the beach. BBQ goes into the next night. American life style is very different depending whether you are in the city, subiubs, or rural. Only major are lively at night but nothing compare to asian. Suburbs and Rural are dead by sunset. Everyone is well and settle at home before dinner.

@AliceswanUs
Just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed. Excellent video, and Guangzhou looks a lot like Bangkok at night (I lived there for more than a decade) - busy, incredibly safe and fascinating. Looking forward to watching all your videos :)

@parttimethinker7611
did the town seem more crowded than before you left? Cleaner? I think at 4am, we would be more afraid of ghosts than human. I heard quite a few ghosts stories before. I’m still pretty wary of going out after 10pm anywhere. Love your bravery and human concerns for the hard working over night entrepreneurs. Their aspirations are a missing ingredient in many western way of life.

@Novideos00
life was similar in many Chinatowns in south east Asia 50 years ago. Some things have changed a lot other things never seem to change. Thanks for this nostalgia trip down memory lane.

@Drownedinblood
Tbh nice to hear cantonese in Guangzhou. I see a lot of videos where people just use mandarin. Idk if people just kinda go with it assuming the default now or you just start with cantonese first.

@bangzi004
this looks familiar for i've been going to guangzhou for a trade show for many years. the only difference is that whenever i pass through the streets after midnight that's after a whole night worth of drinking all kinds of booze! therefore, never had a chance to appreciate the quiet streets being sober.

@acheable
Surprise to see so much litters around captured in your video. Apparently the heartlanders still dont keep public space and their working areas clean at all times as per your early morning tour.

@316jun
Brilliant place Guangzhou. In the jade market there must be millions of dollars worth of jade but in the vendors feel safe enough to leave glass cabinets covered with a cloth when they wind up for the day. I didn't see much security either. I think crime is generally low there. Never saw much police on the roads either.

@kongming2005
13:25 kind of make me laugh when you said "many people" as it looks ok to a foreigner like me. I recall in the early days those familiar with UK, Australia some Europe countries they close shop sharp at 5pm and not willing to work any further or now in America people are not willing to work extra hour eventhough the pay is so high at USD30 in comparison with Asian especially Chinese they work day and night. These are the reason they are catching up BUT USA government dare not to admit their problem and blame everything on China.
Like you mentioned about homeless, this is very real. I notice 1 homeless in Foshan Zumiao, A1 Mall also the homeless have been there for over a year but homeless in China is not like in America, out of control. China government take responsibility to support the people, USA government rob from the people all over the world and take no responsibility and absolutely nothing, except their personal gain from bribery.
Keep up the good content creation. BTW you speaks better English than those specialist in CGTN and those claim to be language expert

@Thinkofwhat
Lin you don't look like a cantonese or a southerner but maybe from the central or even the north. But I heard you spoke cantonese in the background so perhaps you are a cantonese. So you are my kakilang...:)

@blandwinde
This fruit & vegetable wholesale market was said to be relocated further from city center at least 5 years ago, yet it's still there. I don't like its noise and heavy trucks totally jamming the streets especially days before major festivals.

Most of the places looked super clean, other(mainly smaller streets) not so much, is there difference how the different areas are cleaned or why does it happen?

@john826
it is not clean at the hour of the filming. City cleaner workers will clean places once they start their shift early in the morning. But some of the whole sale market usually always not so tidy because of the chaos, despite there are dedicated cleaners working there.

@PChan-yt4uf
The cleaners haven't start work yet. Did you think a city will look clean even for a day without an army of cleaners? By morning, people going to offices will see a clean street.

@GeorgeForman-i9t
Cause the bigger streets have less people traffic unless it's a shopping and entertainment district. Most of the shops that are open late into the evenings, like food stalls, fruit shops, operate out of the smaller streets. The bigger stores, chain restaurants, chain retail shops, will be found on the bigger streets and they usually closes before 10. Go to the main business district and it's mostly empty by dark, people go home or to the shopping and entertainment areas.
It's also like seeing garbage piled up in NYC at night, cause they haven't picked up the garbage yet and they don't have alleys like some city to put the trash. The big buildings and shopping malls etc all have in house facilities to store trash for pick up, another reason you don't see as much trash in the bigger streets.

@WeiyangXu-gv3yc
There are shops on both side of the street, because of the street is old and narrow, they don't have their own trashbin. So they throw their trash in front of their door while they close at mid night, cleaners will take everything arround 4:00am. So basicly you'll never see this scene unless you walk outside after midnight just like Cinthia did.

@cnmd1636
That 7/11 store is blowing me away. No sells man in the store, scan and pay by yourself. If this is in US, the next day probably the store is already empty. LOL

Cameras working and lixs to Police Sation

@beilin3746
 @gaocori7413 Actually no…it just lix to the manager's background system. The police just in charge of the public's and traffic cameras. How huge it would be if the data of all stores were connected together

@jplin888
It’s call trust. But just not try to do illegal things. As might know there are cctv cameras everywhere. FYI - some stores have safety doors meaning if you don’t pay the door won’t open when you try to exit. After the goods are paid, it will allow you to exit.

@dieglhix
I envy Asia so much (of course in a good way) as a Latin American, no night life unless risking it, corruption and crime is in charge. And smart, educated people support this state of affairs, so the culture is upside down. Well, that's how luck of life works. I will soon go to China and have been stuying putonghua for years

@tigading2177
In China poverty doesn't mean poor quality of life nor homelessness, nor life of crime, where the economy is not rigged, even poor people can afford to eat out and socialize, small jobs with small pay will still buy you decent amount of goods and services (purchasing power).
In the U$ led west extreme unfettered corporate capitalism, stock and shares leads to huge money printing to fuel the stock market often with dubious products and techniques like stock buy backs to boost values, infamous insider trading with politicians playing a key role in pushing policies which influence share prices such as Pelosi and in the end ordinary people earning ordinary wages could no longer afford everyday cost of living due to rapid rise of their inflated currencies, chasing after few goods and services.
If anyone tries to walk on the streets of New York or under bridges in NYC, you'd be lucky to be alive!
Don't even think about setting up an unmanned convenience store in the US, we all know what would happen, LOL l00ters l00t even in broad daylight!

@davidchou1675
Strange you have your Cantonese labelled "Mandarin!" Also strange that you considered it not having a table free when there are still seats and it's the tradition to share tables, cafeteria style, when eating dim sum!
So sorry to see that one homeless guy...China actually has one of the world's earliest retirement ages, officially, but unfortunately a lot of folks like the migrant workers are off the books and so probably have no way to claim any benefits -- which are likely paltry in any case for such laborers...plus, old folks just shouldn't have to work anymore! Then there are the developmentally challenged or even downright disabled. I really wish the government would take care of them all! Unfortunately such poor are just not a priority since local officials gain very little credit for helping them when they are promoted instead for hitting much more important metrics related to the economy and even the environment.

@wocaishipc
Industrious Chinese people, look at China's development, which was achieved through decades of hard work and exhaustion by these industrious people. Unlike Western countries, almost all developed countries are the fruits of colonization and exploitation of other weak countries.
