Its just not about Marathi, people have become so much divisive that if you dont know the local language, you are seen as a traitor.. It's not about Marathi or Hindi or any other language for that matter. Forcing any citizen of India to speak in a particular language and not their mother tongue is against if fundamental rights. Let's stop making this about Marathi or Hindi. This TTE is basically not suited to live in a democratic and diverse country like India. I'm all for learning other languages including Hindi and the local language where you stay. But Hindi can not be our national language. Period. Simply because every citizen values his own mother tongue more than anything else! Unfortunately while English may be a foreign language, it offers a common medium for majority of the public even abroad. We may consider it as a necessary evil but accept it. It may be surprising to know that we have the SECOND largest English speakers (129 million) in the world after US(309 million)!

Definitely. I think it makes a decent neutral language because it has already been imposed upon us over 2 centuries and has no origin within the country. Therefore, it doesn't give the higher pedestal to any one region/race.

People should learn to respect others and mind their own business. Worry about themselves, and their families. Stop following politicians, learn a trade, and stand on your own feet. These politicians want to divide us for their own benefit. Speak whatever language you want, live the way you want to live, don’t hurt others! Is that hard?
