In the Phils. fr. the start we had always refused to buy Chinese cars whether it is EV or what not, or even if it is powered by boiling water, for whenever we glance at a Chinese car we always see the brand name, Spratley Islands, no sale here.

American is known to innovate the world but now stooping on China for some earth ..this is funny
Consumers are aware of the unreliability of electric vehicles (EVs), yet big businesses persist in profiting before the situation worsens. They're promoting it as the next big thing, akin to sliced bread, but in reality, it may only remain an idea in a few years. Some companies are focusing on improving existing technology; Toyota and Mazda, for instance, are exploring the rotary engine to enhance mileage. China's focus on EVs, potentially fueled by the theft of intellectual property, is misguided, especially when more reliable alternatives exist. We have the ingenuity to develop safer, longer-lasting car solutions without relying on China's rare earth reserves. It's ironic that America, known for its innovation, is now relying on China for rare earth minerals
@fourspeeds
My uncle in Sun City Arizona bought a brand new Electric car. He thought it would be a good idea. He didn't have very long and then decided to get rid of it for a gas car. He says there's not enough charging stations for them yet any worries about getting stranded

China selling "rare earth" minerals cheap is why the supply might be constricted for a while. We have these materials here in US. Chinese government supported pricing simply made the US mining and processing operations unprofitable with the usual results. It's going to take a couple of years at the very least to start back up again. Blame multinational companies and the Chinese government. Get it right. Until EVs sort out the battery problems, which is probably going to take major technological advances (Read that as "expensive") EVs are not ready for prime time.

Very few people realize that the mining of Lithium is very damaging to the environment. I applaud China for mitigating the damage. Hydrogen fuel is the way forward. Toyota the biggest car manufacturer on the planet, have been advocating this for years.
@zer0dahero
The EV market is not the main consumer of Lithium and nickel, the cellphone/laptop/tablet market combined is the biggest consumer of rare earth metals.
@AJ-tj7jm
Since their introduction in the UK I'm shocked how quickly Chinese EV manufacturers like BYD have managed to get a foothold on our new car market. What the west should do is quadruple tariffs on Chinese exports and block any takeover/investment in infrastructure and companies of strategic importance, they want to destroy our established manufacturers, we take away the market for theirs.
@wazza33racer
Designed to fail, thats EV's. We already have gasoline engine designs and technology that means that an EV would never catch up to an ICE vehicle in carbon footprint. Just attaching a blow-down turbine to a gasoline engine's exhaust output, lowers fuel consumption 60%.......this was done in WW2 with an Allison-1710 aircraft engine on a test stand. Pratt and Whitney also used the same turbo-compound engine technology on their large radial engine fitted to the Constellation aircraft.
@daffyduck4195
This video said that a major problem w/ EV is the weak power grid. Indeed. There are only about 50,000 chargers spread out in the US. This explains why people in the US are hesitant to travel far w/ EVs. In China, where EVs are a hit, there are 1 million chargers in the country.
@michaeltotten7508
Yes, and the Chinese build a new coal-burning, electric power plant, and bring one online to their grid, every 3 days, too. So, of course they can support EV's to "save the environment", by polluting the hell out of it, by burning tons and tons of coal...that is how they can get all that energy, to their power grid, to charge all of those EV's. But, life is cheap in China--they don't mind sitting next to a poorly made battery that can reach 4500°F, in a few seconds, without warning--do YOU? And they don't mind the inconvenience of waiting to re-charge, or the risk of having their building or house burn down, from an EV battery fire, either...

Apart from making a political statement – we get it, you don’t like Biden, you seem to both complain that ‘Biden’ is making it difficult to sell EVs, and you intimate that this is very bad, but in the next sentence you say EVs are ‘the devil’s spawn’ and you want car manufacturers to be able to focus on gas-driven cars.
You somehow have to make your mind up – you can’t blame ‘Biden’ for making EV production more difficult, and at the same time blaming him for promoting EVs over gas-cars…..
Very confusing, and not convincing, comes across very much as a Republican Election ad.
PS. I am definitely NOT an EV fan, so I would have appreciated a clearer message, without the politics.

China’s SHOCKING Export Ban DESTROYS The Entire Western EV Industry! China’s export ban spells doom for EVs! The US is stunned by China’s move, which could trigger a massive collapse of the EV market. The EV industry is already struggling with problems like fires, high costs, charging issues, and low sales. There is a tech w ar, etc. The US bans ASML, etc. from selling to C hina and China responds in kind. Do you remember the 'apprehension' of Huawei CFO in Canada - that was part of the tech w ar. At the end, they realized they didn't have a case against her and had to let her go. Remember Huawei and China is not France's Alstom, not familiar with it, look it up.

Very happy with my Chinese built EV, 100% reliable, no insurance increase from ICE. Its LFP battery doesn't use nickel and cobalt and charges for free from my home solar system. China's restriction on rare earths is an unexpected consequence of US trade war tactics so self inflicted. EVs wont suit everyone anymore than a Mack prime mover is not for everyone.
@eugenec7130
It was the United States and Europe which put much pressure in the past on developing countries, including China and India, to solve their carbon emission problem. But today when China has gone full speed on EVs, the Americans themselves refuse to use EVs. To the Americans, their selfish interests, not the environmental well being, are their main concern.
The end of EVs is here! China just went AGAINST the US, leaving Joe Biden in SHOCK as they dropped a brutal export ban starting a massive EV market crash! The EV market, already plagued by issues like EV fires, high price, charging disasters, and poor sales, just suffered a huge blow. China just DEFIED Joe Biden, making an announcement that could lead to thousands of American workers losing their jobs, killing the EV market completely! Why did China's export ban just start the biggest EV market crash of our lifetime? Is it all over for EVs? Why did Joe Biden secretly shake hands with China?

Maybe related is the fact that Taiwan Semi Conductor is building a huge mfg facility in Arizona. China's extreme behavior under convid drove out business and helped allies such as S. Korea and Taiwan, who had particularly, got eaten by the Dragon. Their wages stagnant for 30 yrs as their mfg was also outsourced to China.

@Andrew-rc3vh
The cheapest EV in China is a little over $1000. It's a 7ft long 4 -seater and can do about 35mph. It's one of the best selling cars in China and is used for the local school runs. It does actually work as well. The US could never complete with that.
@patrickchubey3127
They're not good in HOT places either and I live in a hot place. Dam if I want to wake up dead in a house fire because the stupid car started a fire in the garage. Besides, I've calculated that if I bought a new Corolla today, at my current annual driving rate, I'd have to drive 40 years to accumulate the same mileage as my current ice car has on it now. That's a lot of years and a dependable Toyota actually stands a fair chance of making it happen.
@NotFastEddie
Yep, this is exactly what I said would happen. By going full electric, we put our ability to produce cars in Chinas hands. All China has to do is stop the flow of materials and our entire auto industry comes to a screeching halt. Fortunately, China was nice enough to do this BEFORE we have fully committed to EV's. If China had waited another 20 to 30 years, after all the tooling to make ICE vehicles had been destroyed or lost, then we would really be up a creek.

A lot of lithium and nickel miners in Western Australia have closed down operations. The demand is not there and the prices for product have dropped below sustainable levels. I suppose the same has happened in China, nobody wants it why dig it up?.

Evs were rejected more than 110 years ago so why are supposedly smart repeating past mistake.
1. Overpriced "more taxes"
2. Double the weight of a normal car will double the wear on our roads. "more taxes"
3. Cars built like iPhones are worthless when putting unchangeable batteries. "is there a worth wild used rechargeable electronic item that's worth more than a few bucks?
4. What impact cargo ship sinks to the ocean floor containing Battery powered cars.
5. What will happen to people's electric bill who are not car owners?
6. Gas will be needed to extract non renewable rare metals and will create even more harm than good.
7. The average man could never even think of making his repairs on this type vehicles. "PHDs will be needed"

9. I could go past 100 ideas why eves are bad but i'll leave it to others comments. 10.....-100....
10.....-100....

And Japan's Toshiba. All three companies are subject to the US Tonya Harding strategy for competition.

@eugenec7130
@uzifelner6147
That is the best news I have heard in 2024.
Bye EV and don’t let the Gate hits you on the way out.

China is doing the US a big favor; auto manufacturers must eventually get out of the EV market to survive. Better the pain comes sooner rather than later, as manufacturers must face the reality of the scam nature of the EV!

Are they? Are the car companies going to rebuild Flint Michigan or is auto industry going to India or Taiwan, Mexico. It's not helping the common citizen to have a job. Oh I forgot Oshawa on how GM pulled out, this will not help anyone but the oil industry.

Trump says he will give Americans a choice. Not force EVs on people. Won't ban gas stoves either. There's a president I can vote for.

The cheapest EV in Canada sells for a whopping $47,000 including taxes. My car buying budget is about half that amount. No EV for me.
@Andrew-rc3vh
The cheapest EV in China is a little over $1000. It's a 7ft long 4 -seater and can do about 35mph. It's one of the best selling cars in China and is used for the local school runs. It does actually work as well. The US could never complete with that.
@patrickchubey3127
@NotFastEddie

8. When i see Teslas, i see stupid people that were lucky with Bitcoin scam Monopoly money.
9. I could go past 100 ideas why eves are bad but i'll leave it to others comments. 10.....-100....
10.....-100....
