Standardization is a very useful concept. Standard gauge for rails, standard unit of measures rather than inches and centimeters.I believe that a mixed up unit of measure in the design of one of the spaceships, caused huge problems for NASA.
In my profession of software design and development, I standardized all my users interfaces. The benefits are immense. End users know exactly which button to push, and expect no surprises. The benefits to me, as a software builder, are many. I can simply re-use the users interfaces again, and again. However, the algorithms need to be changed accordingly for the application. I could build a new application in less than half the time required. That is why robotics is useful in the car manufacturing industry because the movements are pre-programmed exactly.

That Elon Musk could get successfully into the space business so quickly means that it will be child's play for China. Automobile he bought the company. It was not from scratch. He has not succeeded in robots or self-driving cars. How good his energy systems are i do not know but they are basically just assembled from parts. He has no technology he really needs to develop for that.

i hope they do, then, this will allow private companies to buy them and go mine the asteroid belt instead of the earth, thereby saving the environment from pollution and disfigurement. the moment cheap reuseable rockets are available is the day mankind can leave earth. mining in space do not even need humans, robots with AI can do all the work, the human just stay inside the ship to direct and decide the work. dirty factory in space using free solar energy can refine everything and then just point the finished goods at earth, give it a shove and it will rain down all the pure materials that we need.

Yes, mass production of space vehicles is just around the corner, but China is not alone in this. SpaceX is well advanced in building production facilities to manufacture Starships at a prodigious rate.

The Chinese don't want to have fewer nuclear missiles than Russia and the USA anymore. Notably, they are not interested in signing any limiting agreement to stop the expanding world's arsenal of mass destruction. For the civil side of industry, they are winning market domination by volume and lowering costs. With dominant world control, they can dictate the terms for purchase. Great for Chinese friends.
