Exactly, they can go to university in their home countries. No need to demonize them, but there's also no reason people should be going to universities in foreign countries other than a semester abroad for fun. Same argument against most global trade. Keep it home grown and you'll have a lot healthier, more egalitarian societies.

It's not the education nor degree. It's the acess to one of the highest paying job market with potential residency. International students aren't going to be the only ones to leave the US, American students will also choose to study somewhere better abroad like in Europe or Asia. The US is just not a viable option anymore if it limits choices for everyone. This caused students to learn and forget facts without connecting them to content. Principals stressed student scores. The decline in learning continued at a slow pace. Then came covid. The decline has intensified. Here we are now.
It is devastating. The answer is to modernize schools, re-educate teachers to teach content, restore order in schools, and start more GED programs to enable adults to learn the basics and real life skills. This would be a good beginning in my humble opinion.

And with this fake degree and degree obtained without studying, they again start doing a job of higher skill which is not at all beneficial for the US. Hence US shut the door of its universities for the international students so that US citizens are not displaced by international students In jobs.

International students aren't going to be the only ones to leave the US, American students will also choose to study somewhere better abroad like in Europe or Asia. The decline began in many public schools due to 2001: The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act mandated annual standardized testing for accountability, significantly embedding tests in U.S. education policy.
Teachers began teaching to the test to save their own jobs.
This caused students to learn and forget facts without connecting them to content. Principals stressed student scores. The decline in learning continued at a slow pace. Then came covid. The decline has intensified. Here we are now.
It is devastating. The answer is to modernize schools, re-educate teachers to teach content, restore order in schools, and start more GED programs to enable adults to learn the basics and real life skills. This would be a good beginning in my humble opinion.
公立学校的衰退在2001年就开始了：《不让一个孩子掉队法案》（NCLB）要求每年进行标准化考试以追责，这使考试深深嵌入了美国教育政策。
教师为了保住工作开始“为考试而教”。
结果是学生学了就忘，无法把事实与内容联系起来。校长只强调分数。学习质量缓慢下降，随后新冠疫情到来，衰退进一步加剧。于是就成了现在这样。
这令人痛心。解决办法是让学校现代化，重新培训教师以内容为核心教学，恢复校园秩序，并增加GED项目，让成年人学习基础知识和现实生活技能。我认为这是一个良好的开端。

Most foreign students coming to the US with the intention to stay after graduation. Once this incentive was no more possible, who want to come: education in the US is expensive, no better than other developed countries. I, personally enjoyed a free education in Germany.

University education has turned into a business to import people. Very few leave the country and that is upsetting locals. I wonder if there is any value to degrees from US/Canada in today's world compared to what it was 10 or 20 years ago.

Boohoo! College is over rated. There are millions of US citizens who have earned college degrees which aren't any more valuable than a basic GED. Many US college graduates aren't even earning a living from those achieved degree(s). Meanwhile, the GED recipient with a tradeschool certification is earning a 6 figure income. Is the math, mathing?

It doesn't help that a lot of international student rely on scholarships and expensive loans from their home countries. Loans they can only pay back if they get jobs in the US. With bad economic indicators and anti immigrant sentiment on the rise; there is now a decreased incentive for foreigners (and even US citizen students) to go to college.
