Here are some useful travel hacks
Never carry all your money in one place , always distribute and keep.
Carry a power bank with you all the time.
Research about the place before going, check the reviews, places near it , others experience. It will surely help you.
Keep your identity cards/ Imp documents handy.
Carry some eatables with you all the time.
Don’t rely on ATM cards all the time, always have some cash with you.
Carry common medicines with you, you never know when you require them.
Try carrying as less luggage as you can. You are going to travel and not to settle.
Share your location with atleast some one all the time.
在去之前先了解一下那个地方,看看对那个地方的评论,附近的地方,他人的经历。这些肯定对你有帮助;
把你的身份证/小文件随身携带;
随身带些可吃的东西;

Plan whatever you can beforehand, don't wait for the last moment, as you visiting an unknown place. You can land in unwanted trouble. So be prepared and gain information about the place you are visiting.
Do not over pack, carry what you are actually going to wear or use and stick to it.
Don't spend unnecessarily, you are out to travel rather focus on experiences, creating memories, talking to localites.
Focus creating images in your head rather than wasting time clicking alot of pictures and then you have to waste time sexting best ones.
Trying new things, overcoming fears.
Try keeping your demands and expectations low, don't create an unnecessary scene regarding services and quality etc. Try catch the mood not spoil the mood. You are not at the comfort of your house, you are out to explore try coming out of your nest of comfort.
Bargain where ever you can as tourist places already hike up prices for everything.
Keep limited cash with you.
Eat local food, at those small popular eating joints.
Always drink clean filtered water, water borne diseases are common after travel.
Keep usual medicines handy. Anti biotics, pain killers, paracetamol, dettol, bandages etc
As a female, I can not stress enough on keeping wet wipes, pee safe options, using clean washrooms.
Stay welcoming, don't be a moron. Be nice to everyone around and be ready to adjust. Embrace the change.
Learn whatever you can from this new place you are at.
Prepare a map for places you are going to visit. Keep it simple. Don't try covering every other place, quality over quantity.
I'm sorry but I have to share these two from my favourite trip to Maharashtra. One from Delhi metro and the other from Airport restroom.
手边备好常用的药:抗生素、止痛药、扑热息痛、滴滴涕、绷带等;

Keep your wallet in the front pocket. Risk of losing it reduces.
Don’t keep all the cash at same place. Distribute it in 2-3 parts. Do the same if you have multiple cards. If you lose your bag/purse, you will still have some cash/card left.
Keep updating your family/friends about your location every few hours. They can find you easily, if something bad happens to you.
Travel in Local transport as much as possible.You will save upto 80℅ in travelling. While travelling to jaipur, i installed jaipur bus app. It helped me catching correct buses for my route.
Write down the Name/Landmark of your hotel in a piece of paper. Sometimes be independent of Mobile Phones.
Also add a contact number of your closest in a paper.
Don't forget your earphones.

In India, use OYO App for hotel bookings. It's far better and cheaper than the others.
Don't feel shame in asking discounts at hotels. You may get it. Not all want to lose customers.(I asked for a discount at a hotel in Jaipur. Paid 700 instead of 900. )
Download offline maps of your route. You can't trust Network everywhere.
Ask for the WiFi password if the hotel have a WiFi. You paid for it. It's your right.
Carry ID proof and its scanned copy everywhere.
Ask for the Hotel Cards and keep it with yourself. Sometimes you may forget the address.
Carry a Powerbank with you. It helps a lot. Charger won't help you everywhere.
Carry a pair of slippers with you. Else you will regret. Shoes may get wet sometimes.

Prasang Sharma, Frequent traveler. Train, jetski, tricycle.. Whatever gets me there quickest.
While traveling in India by train, we get only one socket per compartment/cabin for electric power supply. One socket shared among 8 passengers. This imbalance in ‘demand vs supply’ model makes passengers resentful.
Solution:
Always carry an extension cord or spike cord while traveling in a train. Here are the benefits of doing so:
You'll have multiple sockets to charge all of your devices (Laptop and mobile phones). Now watch your favorite TV show for hours…
You can let others use the rest of the free sockets, so now instead of 1 socket, they all get multiple sockets depending on the number of sockets in your extension. Once a wise man said - help a person in charging his phone, get his friendship in return.. Yes.. I made that up.
Many smartphones misbehave and freeze while charging directly from the train sockets due to 110v output voltage. Many new advanced extension chord acts as a current stabilizer or at least have a fuse.
PS: Wrote this answer while traveling in a train, & while charging my phone using this technique.
Happy traveling!

I was exploring Vienna city side in Austria. It was 5 in the evening. I had to pee. I can't go back to my hostel as it was far. I asked someone about public toilet. Finally, I found one and the moment I entered , I saw a machine something like this.
To enter inside the toilet we had to put a 1€ coin inside.
I was like Bro 1€ to pee.seriously?
You want me to pay ?
Being an Indian and a Marwari I didn't use that toilet. I got an idea.
As I was in city side. There were many multinational food chains like KFC, Starbucks,McDonald's. I just entered one of them and used their washroom and saved my 1€ like a boss.
This is something I observed in most of the European countries but this trick works everywhere.

On the Plane:
first and foremost, be nice! help a woman with her bag, smile, say something nice to a flight attendant, let someone in front of you in line
emergency exit row seats aren't always what they're made out to be. while they offer more leg room, they are slightly narrower and often have thinner cushion (bad for your butt and tailbone on long flights)
remove magazines from the front pouch to give yourself an extra inch of leg room (i know it doesn't sound like much, but if you're tall it makes a difference!)
i used to be a fan of aisle seats, but have recently become a believer in window seats because they give you a place to lean head and sleep (otherwise, i just do a lot of head bobbing in the aisle seats)
if tall, take shoes off to give more leg room (give it a try, it will feel like you've gained a couple inches of knee room)
wear pants and long sleeve shirt on planes (always), hoodies also work wonders for keeping you warm and helping drown out noise and light
eye blinds and ear plugs are a game changer (i'm a recent convert and can't live without them now). invest in a good pair of eye blinds and the best ear plugs are Howard Leight brand (soft, painless, easy insert, high performance)
get a nice pillow (Therm-A-Rest Compressible Pillow is my favorite)
use airline's mobile app to optimize seat sextion last minute
invest in a nice headset. in-ear can be painful on long flights, but otherwise can be nice and compact. i prefer over-ear noise canceling headphones.
keep a two-prong headset adapter from the free sets they hand out (some planes require a two prong headset still)
remember some seats are high risk
if plane seems fairly empty, avoid emergency exit rows (they fill up and you can't lift armrests up). you'll be better off in a normal seat where nobody is sitting next to you - consider choosing a middle seat in an empty row (people will often choose other seats to avoid sitting next to you, plus you eliminate couples sitting in your row
紧急出口前排的座位并不总是像人们想象的那样。虽然它们提供更多的腿部空间,但它们略窄,通常坐垫更薄(在长途飞行中对你的臀部和尾骨不利);
把前袋里的杂志拿下来,给自己额外的腿部空间(我知道这听起来不是很多,但如果你是高个,这就不同了!);
我以前很喜欢靠过道的座位,但是最近我更喜欢靠窗的座位了,因为这样你就可以靠着头睡觉了(否则的话,我坐在靠过道的座位上就会不停地摇头);
如果你个子高,脱掉鞋子给你的腿留出更多的空间(尝试一下,你会觉得你给膝盖增加了几英寸的空间);
在飞机上穿裤子和长袖衬衫(总是这样),连帽衫也能神奇地让你保持温暖,帮助你消除噪音和遮挡光线;
眼罩和耳塞是游戏规则的改变者(我最近也改变了,现在已经离不开它们了)。买一对好的眼罩,最好的耳塞是霍华德莱特牌(柔软,无痛,容易插入,高性能);
买一个漂亮的枕头(可压缩枕头是我的最爱);
在最后一分钟使用航空公司的移动应用程序优化座位选择;
从他们提供的免费套件中保留一个双叉耳机适配器(有些飞机仍然需要双叉耳机);
记住,有些座位是高风险的;

Travel :
use your airline's mobile app to optimize seat sextion last minute (i've often changed seats after boarding to assure an empty seat next to me)
good apps: tripadvisor (my favorite app for finding nearby and good restaurants, hotel reviews, things-to-do tips, etc.), carrentals.com (best site/app I know of to find cheapest car rentals), kayak (my favorite site/app for flight deals), converter+ (international travelers often need currency and metric conversion help), hotels.com (good for finding hotel deals and their reward program is awesome), uber (only available in some cities, but great in cities where finding a taxi can be difficult), seat guru (okay app for those who aren't experts in airplane seat sextion)
很好的应用程序:tripadvisor(我最喜欢的寻找附近和好的餐厅、酒店评论、待做事项提示等的应用程序)、carrentals.com(我知道的寻找最便宜租车的最佳网站/应用程序)、kayak(我最喜欢的机票交易网站/应用程序)、converter+(国际旅行者通常需要货币和度量转换帮助)、Hotels.com(很适合寻找酒店优惠,他们的奖励计划很棒),uber(只在一些城市可用,但在找出租车很困难的城市很有用),座位专家(seat guru)(对那些不是飞机座位选择专家的人来说这是一个不错的应用程序)

In the Airport:
shower whenever possible (many of the airline lounges have showers - nothing better than feeling clean and refreshed after a long flight)
get access to lounges somehow, it is amazing how much better this can make your travel (Amex Platinum, status)
make sure you have a belt and shoes that don't set off the metal detectors (many international airports don't require shoe removal - unless your shoes set off the metal detector)
when possible, always check-in before you arrive to airport (use smart phone instead of printer)
arrive a little early (i disagree with idea that if you don't miss one flight per year your spending too much time in the airport) - the stress is not worth it
keep passport and ticket in the front pocket of shirt or back pocket of pants for easy access (until boarding)
确保你皮带和鞋子不会触发金属探测器报警(许多国际机场不要求脱鞋—除非你的鞋子触发了金属探测器);
如果可能的话,一定要在到达机场前办理登机手续(使用智能手机而不是打印机);
提前一点到达;
shower whenever possible (many of the airline lounges have showers - nothing better than feeling clean and refreshed after a long flight)
get access to lounges somehow, it is amazing how much better this can make your travel (Amex Platinum, status)

Packing:
i like to keep a very small travel bag with a toothbrush and floss in an immediately accessible location (without having to unzip your suitcase). there's nothing worse than having something stuck in your teeth during a long flight
buy a separate set of toiletries that you just leave in your suitcase (i forgot deodorant and my razor before, not worth the hassle)
keep aspirin or tylenol in your travel bag
roll your clothes (it takes up MUCH less space, often they are less wrinkled than when folding)
don't check bags, almost ever (not worth it, delays leaving airport quickly, risks lost and damaged bags, you rarely need that much stuff anyway)
buy shoe bags to keep your shoes from getting your clothes dirty
keep an extra phone charger in your travel bag (if you forget, housekeeping will have extras)
learn to pack fast
我喜欢把一个装有牙刷和牙线的小旅行袋放在一个容易拿得到的地方(不用打开你的行李箱)。没有什么比在长途飞行中牙缝里卡东西更糟糕的了;
单独买一套洗漱用品,然后放在行李箱里(我之前忘记带除臭剂和剃须刀了,不值得因这个自找麻烦);
把阿司匹林或泰诺(感冒药)放在你的旅行袋里;
把衣服卷起来(这样占的空间小得多,衣服通常不会像折叠时那么皱);
不要托运行李,几乎从来都不需要(不值得,而且会延误离开机场的时间,还要冒着行李丢失或损坏的风险,反正你根本不需要那么多行李);
买鞋包,防止鞋子弄脏衣服;
在你的旅行包里多放一个手机充电器(如果你忘记了,客房会有额外的);

International Travel:
take ambien on those 7+ hour flights
buy sim cards if your somewhere for more than a couple days
change your sim card before landing (they allow you to use your phone upon landing, but if you've forgotten to change the sim card, you'll have to wait to change the card until you've cleared customs)
have a second passport (on several occasions I've had my passport sitting in the consulate of one country and needed my passport desperately to apply for a second visa)
apply for visas well in advance (services like ProVisa.com are often worth using)
opt for a longer layover in a stopover city and leave the airport for a few hours
memorize your passport number
在7小时以上的飞行中服用安必恩;
购买sim卡,如果你在某个地方超过几天;
在着陆前更换sim卡(他们允许你在着陆时使用手机,但如果你忘记更换sim卡,你要等到通关后才能更换);
有第二本护照(有几次我的护照被放在一个国家的领事馆,而迫切需要我的护照来申请第二签证);
提前申请签证(像ProVisa.com这样的服务通常值得使用);
选择在中途停留的城市停留更长时间,离开机场几个小时;

Frequent Flyer:
pick an airline if you are flying 25-50k miles in a year. once you have status, you get bonus frequent flier miles (often 100% additional miles)
status perks: (lounges, cut ticketing, security and boarding lines, bonus miles, better seat sextion, faster phone service, receive checked bags faster)
when using your miles, try to use them on traveling companions and buy your own ticket (if you have status) so that you collect those additional bonus miles
make sure your miles never expire (can lix credit card to account and certain regular purchases can keep your miles active)
keep an eye on your miles - it may be worth connecting to a further city if it gets you to the next mileage status level
if your airline screws up in a major way, call them and let them know (they will give you free miles or credit vouchers), but don't abuse
when picking an airline consider: quality of service, frequent flier mile programs, best alliances
如果你一年要飞行25-5万英里,选择一家航空公司。一旦你符合某重要身份,你就可以获得额外的飞行里程奖励(通常是100%的额外里程);
身份特权:(休息室、减票、安检和登机线路、额外里程、更好的座位选择、更快的电话服务、更快接受托运行李服务;
当你使用你的里程时,试着在旅伴身上使用它们,并购买自己的机票(如果你有身份),这样你就可以获得额外的奖励里程;
确保你的里程永远不会过期(可以将信用卡与账户连接起来,某些常规的购买可以让你的里程保持活跃);
关注你的里程数—如果能让你达到下一个里程数级别,那就值得去更远的城市转一转;
如果你的航空公司搞砸了,打电话告诉他们(他们会给你免费的里程或信用卡券),但不要滥用;

Saving Money:
when searching for deals, be flexible with airports (within limit), flexible dates (remembering hotel costs)
if you're really on a budget, buy someone's frequent flyer miles for 1-1.5 cents per mile (place an ad on craigslist) - have them buy the ticket for you and pay them through paypal (i did this a few times in my college days and nothing beats the price!)
buy airfare ahead of time (domestic travel often gets more expensive within the last two weeks of travel)
在搜索特价商品时,灵活选择机场(在限定范围内),灵活选择日期(记住酒店费用);
如果你真的在预算上,以每英里1-1.5美分的价格买别人的飞行里程(在craigslist上放个广告)—让他们帮你买机票,然后通过paypal支付(我在大学的时候做过几次,没有什么比这个价格更便宜的了!);
