@Tina Forbes if you can swim the bridge wasn't that high you can jump and swim. I grew up in Lynn Valley Vancouver British Columbia Canada. People die cliff jumping where I'm from. Swimming is kinda an important skill in a city by the sea as well.

The children could not survive on their own and would also die but the parents could have another child and survive. This is under extreme conditions and probably how humans made it to north america in the ice age. It's a last ditch survival technique and the older children might make it. Watch the movie alive. Not nice but hey have you slaughtered animals on a farm? If you eat meat you should really see how it's done. Then chose if you want that nicely packaged happy meal for your children.

TBH this (corruption and greed) is a problem in most of the world. I can remember at least one fatal bridge even in developed countries, but in recent years nowhere in the world this is as common as in India.

Of course the colonial history of India is extremely painful and I understand the bitterness but most people in the UK were not even born during that time when they were an empire, educating about the past is good but at the same time Britain has given away all of it's colonies except a few islands here and there so the fact is most of that wealth is lost. Needs to be education and reconciliation, focusing on the future and not the past. Many Indians live in the UK now and people have respect for India and it's culture I'd say for the most part and their prime minister Rishi Sunak is even of Indian heritage, don't listen to the racists.
