The Israeli diamond industry is collapsing, as high tariffs and strong competition in the US market are crippling demand for natural stones from Israeli firms.
The US - Israel diamond trade is crucial to Israel's economy, and the industry even directly supports the Israeli Defense Forces with over $1 billion a year. Moreover, the diamond trade in Africa is financed with illicit weapons sales and training by IDF commanders.
India replaced Israel as the top exporter of natural diamonds ten years ago, and Chinese-made artificial diamonds are increasingly preferred by younger buyers.
The market situation in the United States and the war in Gaza led to a collapse in Israeli lending and investment in the sector, which is now at historic lows. Wholesale diamond buyers are reluctant to visit Israel, and its annual diamond show was recently canceled.

Laboratory-grown diamonds are not conflict diamonds. They are high-tech diamonds with higher purity, and after cutting and polishing, they are even more brilliant and dazzling. They truly make diamonds accessible to everyone, making them no longer out of reach. Furthermore, laboratory-grown diamonds are also more suitable for industrial applications.

Usury needs to be fought on all fronts. Trafficking in diamonds was an arm of the Hydra. The usual characters, Oppenheimer-steins, started up DeBeers as a usury scheme. Diamonds were available in surface caches. Ernest Oppenheimer muscled in and controlled the mines and markets to take maximum profits as rents for his kind. Unfortunately, even the Chinese have not fully evolved to release debts that are sordid gain taking. Debt/Sin/Usury all exist in the same locus of a Venn diagram.

@Moretistic
Apart from the moral question, which is admittedly huge, diamonds can only lose their value as they can now be grown to a size and quality which is perfectly suitable for jewelry for a fraction of the cost. Diamonds are a very bad investment. If I had diamonds as an investment now I would be trying to get rid of them like they were kryptonite.

Second most important point: is China an India production market dealing only with raw diamonds or do they take care of cutting and finishing too? Because this will make the difference in the long term

@phils4634
Chinese laboratory grown diamonds are technically far superior to the natural product, with consistent refractive index, which is rather important in optical computing (where China is an undisputed World leader); the jewellery industry is, for them, very much an incidental income stream, since the production demand is principally industrial (optics, tooling (esp. ultrafine wire dies), and micro-abrasive applications).
@mamdouh-Tawadros
Synthetic stones (in which China dominates) are also cut in Israel. These types are less controversial than natural diamonds. Both synthetic and natural diamonds have the same physical and hardness properties.

It was never a good investment to buy diamond. It was an evil market that women believe if you like them you should buy them diamond.
However, they fo not know if you Buy it today and you want to sell it. No one would buy it.
It would be better to buy precious stones and not diamond and just invest in platinum...
@jasonneugebauer5310
It is sad that only China is stepping into the synthetic diamond market at scale. This alowes them to dominate yet another market across the globe.
Stock market dominated systems don't seem to be able to compete in production of a lot of goods.
@AndrewBreding
Eventually people are gonna find out there hiding the best stones away because they'd due the market. It's been fake scarcity from the beginning. This rather have artisan mines than one with machines and people who can read, who can read can report.

The only people needing diamond mines are the super rich, profiting from fools who think an honest wife will love them more if they burn a month's pay on a stone instead of doing something together. Most diamonds so far have been blood and war diamonds, rather cynical for a show of love.
@Felix_Ruber
Nobody sees value in them anymore. People want more unique stones/jewelry made locally. A clear stone is boring, and old-fashioned, and a waste of money.

Israel is one reason not to buy diamonds, other reasons are their bloody origin in Africa and actually diamond is common mineral and it 's hight price is a result of market manipulation.

Wow, thanks Kevin for the eye opener. Blood diamond is well known but bet most like myself didn't realize Israel profited and used this fund for GENOCIDE. Boycott nature diamonds funding GENOCIDE.
Israel must thank their Gods for Murica/West complete support as their actions would be absolutely terrorist had it been done by any non White group. Murica sole decision on who's a terrorist is god's gift to them.

The mystique of diamonds is one of the most successful marketing illusions in history: a De Beers creation that turned an abundant, relatively cheap stone into a symbol of rarity and luxury. A luxury the IDF depended on.

Seems it will benefit from control of. resources together with other diamond mining countries in Africa, control price and do the cutting themselves. At first it looked like a bold move from Botswana but when I read there no buyers I got curious …Thanks for the report. May be you can do areport on Botswana too.

The movie Blood Diamond did a heavy toll on the diamond industry. With dwindling wages and disposable income, diamonds are becoming less affordable. Now that China produces indistinguishable and the same strength as the real diamond, there is absolutely no reason to buy the more expensive and real one. Diamonds are not forever, with 50% of marriages ending in divorce.

As soon as Kevin mentioned diamond, and then Israel, I automatically thought of "blood diamond". Yes, in Africa, wars and devious deals are being hatched to get hold of diamond, hence the phrase "blood diamond".
@khalidrashad-xu8xe
Africans should be processing their raw materials into finished products . Diamond cutting and polishing is not rocket science and does not need enormous investments while the returns are phenomenal.
@thedeadbaby
diamonds aren't even all that rare. it's just compressed carbon and now they are manufactured with much less defects than natural diamonds.
@mcwornex2123
I still don't understand why people would buy mined diamonds... it's atomically identical to synthetic diamonds, more expensive and less moral.
I'm still so shocked people can't see the diamond industry as the marketing machine it is
@scottpope6210
All that grinding and cutting noises,l have been part of it since the 70's, but not been a part of the profit, just the brunt of the force that makes it possible. We should have known a little more.....
@diegogmx2000
i actually wonder what would u buy a diamond for, for jewelry or as portable money, ok, not particularly interested in that, but idk if there are normal applications that an artificial diamond wouldnt be able to substitute
@jupplut6159
I wonder how many carats of diamond the Chinese use to bore trough the Himalaya mountain to built the Nepal - China railway.
@NT4XT
If he did otherwise, and insisted on an actual diamond, the best move is breaking up, because procreation with such mind set is unacceptable.
@Moretistic
@ElleDee-s5y
I fell for the scam and bought a $3000 artificial diamond some years ago. Significant savings over the "real thing" but definitely this is a marketing scam.
@lorenzokaty
If China stops exporting diamonds prices will grow back.
Second most important point: is China an India production market dealing only with raw diamonds or do they take care of cutting and finishing too? Because this will make the difference in the long term
@josiahluse9452
This has been coming for 20 years or more. Diamonds are extremely abundant and now we make them in a lab. This is what happens you corner yourself in a rent seeking industry where people are robbed of a fair price.
@phils4634
@mamdouh-Tawadros
Synthetic stones (in which China dominates) are also cut in Israel. These types are less controversial than natural diamonds. Both synthetic and natural diamonds have the same physical and hardness properties.
@4-SeasonNature
China's in the process of making everything affordable for the whole world except for agricultural products, energy, and raw materials/ minerals.
@iCanarii
It was never a good investment to buy diamond. It was an evil market that women believe if you like them you should buy them diamond.
However, they fo not know if you Buy it today and you want to sell it. No one would buy it.
It would be better to buy precious stones and not diamond and just invest in platinum...
@jasonneugebauer5310
It is sad that only China is stepping into the synthetic diamond market at scale. This alowes them to dominate yet another market across the globe.
Stock market dominated systems don't seem to be able to compete in production of a lot of goods.
@AndrewBreding
Eventually people are gonna find out there hiding the best stones away because they'd due the market. It's been fake scarcity from the beginning. This rather have artisan mines than one with machines and people who can read, who can read can report.
@Algolxxxxxx
The average American is poorer for having his tax dollars sent to Israel and they have the nerve to try to sell us their diamonds?
@jps4506
The only people needing diamond mines are the super rich, profiting from fools who think an honest wife will love them more if they burn a month's pay on a stone instead of doing something together. Most diamonds so far have been blood and war diamonds, rather cynical for a show of love.
@Felix_Ruber
Nobody sees value in them anymore. People want more unique stones/jewelry made locally. A clear stone is boring, and old-fashioned, and a waste of money.
@veresannamaria4584
Israel is one reason not to buy diamonds, other reasons are their bloody origin in Africa and actually diamond is common mineral and it 's hight price is a result of market manipulation.
@badboi6332
Hope everyone watched carefully, how they (Israeli "businessmen" ) pressure or bribe others to control markets, and apply this pattern to other businesses, they will finally see how every Israeli or of its heritage does business. They call it competitive. I call it exploitation on the back of others.
@janbenny1
Buy lab grown diamonds, perfect in every aspect and value for money. Once bored with it just shoved it in drawers for keep. Its so perfect that it replaces real diamonds for the drilling oil industries.
@dasskodly
They get their diamonds from DRC and I recall you Benjamin Reuben Zalman Polun, the mossad guy caught plotting a coup in DRC back in September 2024
@jeremiahgelles
When I bought a diamond ring from my wife, I specifically asked that the DIAMOND's not come from Israel. So my jeweler gave us diamonds that were polished in India.
@marilynjackson5752
I thought the diamond industry was failing because of the excellent lab grown diamonds available at a lesser price.
@ΣΤΕΡΓΙΟΣΚΟΣΜΙΔΗΣ
Diamonds are worthless and a scam that lasted too long, precious metals are true everlasting wealth.
@urbankavegirl1123
Is it because of recession or GENOCIDE or bad press or lab grown diamonds being available
@michaela3032
@jasonneugebauer5310
I recommend everyone buy synthetic precious gems because it cost much less to create something then to mine it and also you don't have to worry about supporting reginal conflicts.
@ozakubee
The mystique of diamonds is one of the most successful marketing illusions in history: a De Beers creation that turned an abundant, relatively cheap stone into a symbol of rarity and luxury. A luxury the IDF depended on.
@virtuosa69
When I was young, I was enamored by jewelry, especially diamonds. As I matured, I realized it's all a scam, ESPECIALLY the diamond market. And most profoundly, I recognized the appalling inhumanity that envelopes the diamonds and gems industry.
The thought of buying Israeli diamonds is particularly disgusting
@VincentBelougne
Diamonds business sourcing in Africa is very dirty anyways. That's good if it goes down.
@Jaredbuncher
I didn’t know a small piece of land in the Levant had so many diamond mines.
@moafro6524
Closest I seen this fella criticize the GENOCIDE lol. Not enough but its something
@selmakaplan1053
I went back and watched earlier reports to see why Botswana wants to buy controlling stakes in De Beers. Seems it will benefit from control of. resources together with other diamond mining countries in Africa, control price and do the cutting themselves. At first it looked like a bold move from Botswana but when I read there no buyers I got curious …Thanks for the report. May be you can do areport on Botswana too.
@Penpalinflorida
I would have never thought the diamond ring I bought my wife went to supply the IDF. No more natural stones for me.
@davidhoracek6758
It's so crazy that there is such a huge market in mined diamonds in a world where manufacturing diamonds is possible, cheaper, and far more ethical.
@tumbleddry2887
The only kind of diamond with any real intrinsic value are industrial diamonds, IMO....all else are expensive bobbles for people to waste their money....have always thought so and now that I'm in my 60's, I'm sure of it
@jefreyjefrey6349
They ran blood diamond propaganda in the West to get rid of competition and make money on certificates.

Next step is to put and end on British world diamond monopoly.
@billyesomann
kavin, Israel is a small country, an Imperial and Colonial project in mideast, Zionism entities with right of return for Jews around the world has 10 millions inhabitants, surprisingly has all high tech firms invested there, why
@nestorramos7002
Buying diamonds is supporting Palestine GENOCIDE. Don't do it, Palestine deserve to live... they're suffering an holocaust don't forget that!!!!
@DarkSunBlackStar
Why do women like any diamond anyway? It's just a clear piece of stone that will cause most men a few months of their saving, that the couple could use for better purposes.
I'm glad to see this industry dead. Had I known most diamonds are profited by Israel in those days, I would never have bought any.
@Tabula_Rasa1
@Skkaunda
African countries are destabilized so that Israel, UAE , France & the West could get cheap conflict resources. If Africa found peace, profit margins would shrink.
@WalkOverHotCoal
As soon as Kevin mentioned diamond, and then Israel, I automatically thought of "blood diamond". Yes, in Africa, wars and devious deals are being hatched to get hold of diamond, hence the phrase "blood diamond". And who would want to give a diamond to someone who is precious to him that has Israel written all over it ? Surely 60,000 deaths is too much a weight on bear on a finger ?
Have a safe and Merry Christmas, Kevin. Thank you for your efforts to consistently producing interesting and relevant videos.
@markbrooke4100
The other problem for real diamonds is that you can not tell the difference between real and man made diamonds.
@jimpad5608
When I used to make jewelry, I refused to include diamonds because there are so many other, much more colorful stones that add to the artistic expression.
@davidmingko
The whole diamond industry has been kinda shady and built on hubris. Hope to see lab-grown diamonds take over completely.
