I've been to Italy three times. Once, my companion's backpack was slashed open, and another time I witnessed a tourist's luggage being snatched at the airport. I'm sorry, but I simply cannot agree that Italy is the best travel destination.

Alina, I've been to Italy a number of times and I agree that it is beautiful. However, the tourist traps are crazy busy and that puts me off. I did however really enjoy the Amalfi coast. Very busy too, but too beautiful to complain.
I agree with your opinion of China. Having been there a number of times, I find it an amazing country with amazing people, nature, history and infrastructure. The lack of English, VPN requirements and the payment systems can be a challenge for first time travellers. However, for seasoned travellers, it is a must see.
I also appreciate your insights into Austria. The culture, architecture and history are amazing. They have decent infrastructure and being able to get around with English is a real plus.
We went to Croatia this year and loved it. It is a beautiful country, especially the coast. Prices are typically high as in most of the EU. But the scenery and food make up for it. Also English is spoken everywhere!

5:13 The bullet train in Japan is really marvellous. You can travel long distances in a matter of minutes. And they’re very particular about punctuality. Don’t be surprised if they apologise to you for delay of as little as 5-6 minutes!

very nice summary. This year I checked out the north east of england, called Yorkshire - and what a pleasant surprise that was! endless white northsea beaches, most picturesque hidden smugglers nests on the coast, beautiful Newcastle (in sunshine!) and the truly super amazing scenery of the Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. That underrated spot of Europe was a super pleasant surprise.

I agree with your thoughts about Italy and have been considering purchasing a property there. What I'm puzzled about is how can the Irish people be so nice and give good customer service when they are always enduring such crummy weather? I give them an award for that.

The absolute worst public transit must be the Eglington Crosstown LRT line in Toronto it has taken over 14 years to build and it's still not open for public service and the worst weather is in Toronto snowstorm and freezing rain and it never ends.

To me Japanese food was a such disappointment as I traveled there the first time. I watched too many Japanese Manga in the childhood. They have portrayed their food as fancy and godly delicious. But at I traveled there by myself, my expectation was very high but only to find out that the food is just normal.

Italy is great. You should check out Puglia. Very underated part of Italy . Not crazy crowds either and beautiful weather most of the year.. Lecce , Polignano a Mare. Monopoli, Gallipoli and Alberobello , plus the awe inspiring majesty of Matera is an easy train ride away. Lovely video as always. I enjoyed the videos with your dad in Italy a lot. :)

I liked this video a lot, it is interesting how different we all experience the world, just a little observation from a bulgarian, who has traleved quite a lot in Europe and just a bit outside - I felt too overwhelmed with the public transport in Japan - yes it is very extensive, clean and punctual - but it was also quite expensive, very overcrowded and sometimes so complex to figure out the central railway hubs and even where to stand waiting on the platform that I can never rate it so high, it was just energy-draining. Also we experienced 2 major service interuptions that were absolute horror, also no information was available in english so it was very difficult to re-organise the trip. I liked the food quality but in regard to international food and coffee - it was the worst place I have visited.

My (American) son moved to Poland 10 years ago and I have always found it safe and easy to navigate. I go there about once a year. If you need help in English it is best to ask someone in the younger generations. I was in Ukraine once in 2021 and thought that it seemed pretty safe before the war.

I've been in alot of countries I would say that Eastern Europe is the friendliest and the most helpful I definitely prefer those over most other areas
I travel on my own so being easier and friendlier is important.

Hoi, Alina, sure a good idea to show us all the different places and for sure the exact opinion about it. If there is time avail I recommend a visit to National China/Taiwan. The worst thing I find in countries is when they all have the same stores in the malls etc. It makes it seem like the planet is one big mall with no cultural differences...high use of english also takes away from the travel experience

Very interesting observations, the only thing I really disagree with is the worst nature. From the mentioned countries Belgium (have the least impressive natural landscapes overall, no big mountains or vast wilderness), UAE (mostly desert, very limited forests, rivers, or biodiversity), Hungary (gentler landscapes, flat) and Czech Republic (gentler landscapes) have worst nature. Italy, Austria, Montenegro, Ireland, Japan, China are extremely diverse and scenic. Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine, Poland have rich and underrated nature (mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, caves, waterfalls, wildlife, canyons, gorges, ect.) which are really impressive.

I'm amazed that Ireland beat Japan in service. I've yet to go, and this moves the emerald isle up on my list. I've been back in Canada for a week, and after Japan, the public transportation is almost non existent. I'm already trying to figure out how to return to Japan. I finally actually experienced a real earthquake. 20 seconds of rocking and rolling, and realizing you've just got to ride it out. 'But I'm still mesmerized by this country.
I enjoy being able to vicariously travel with you to so many amazing places.

As a Chinese expat living in Australia, I just spent three weeks in Italy and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. I was genuinely impressed by the food, history, and the value for money (especially compared to other EU countries).
As for China, it’s definitely not easy—even locals complain about the tourist traps during peak season, so I know it’s hard for foreigners. However, it is a special place. The mix of ancient history and modern tech is something you can't find anywhere else. Once you become an 'expert' at navigating it, the sheer variety makes you want to keep going back.
作为一名旅居澳大利亚的华人，我刚刚在意大利度过了三个星期，不得不说，那里完全超出了我的预期。那里的美食、历史，以及超高的性价比（尤其是与其他欧盟国家相比），都让我由衷地感到惊艳。

I travelled to Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, and Canada. Best country for me is Brazil. Worst is Canada (obviously).

It’s very interesting when it comes to Montenegro. I’ve been to all the Balkan countries, and I’ve often wondered why customer service varies so drastically across the region. Some countries are consistently baf in this regard, while others are the complete opposite. My experience with Montenegro matches yours. I also got scammed there first thing after leaving the airport.
I’d also add Romania and Moldova to the list- customer service in both was terrible in my experience, with staff often rude or uninterested in helping, while random people on the street were incredibly friendly and helpful (especially in Romania).
Then you have countries like Serbia or Bosnia, which are extremely customer-oriented and welcoming. I’m not sure why the differences are so drastic, but the contrast between countries is huge.

我还想补充一下罗马尼亚和摩尔多瓦，这两个地方也得列入名单。根据我的经历，那里的客户服务也是一样糟糕，工作人员常常态度粗鲁或者压根儿就不想帮忙。可是，街上遇到的陌生人却又热情得不得了，特别乐于助人（在罗马尼亚尤其明显）。
然后，再看看像塞尔维亚或波黑这样的国家，它们完全是以客户为中心的，待人接物非常热情好客。我也搞不懂为什么差异会如此之大，但国家之间的这种对比确实是极其鲜明的。
波兰也常常被人觉得不友善，说实话，我对此深有同感。

The absolute worst public transit must be the Eglington Crosstown LRT line in Toronto it has taken over 14 years to build and it's still not open for public service and the worst weather is in Toronto snowstorm and freezing rain and it never ends.

To me Japanese food was a such disappointment as I traveled there the first time. I watched too many Japanese Manga in the childhood. They have portrayed their food as fancy and godly delicious. But at I traveled there by myself, my expectation was very high but only to find out that the food is just normal.

Italy is great. You should check out Puglia. Very underated part of Italy . Not crazy crowds either and beautiful weather most of the year.. Lecce , Polignano a Mare. Monopoli, Gallipoli and Alberobello , plus the awe inspiring majesty of Matera is an easy train ride away. Lovely video as always. I enjoyed the videos with your dad in Italy a lot. :)

I liked this video a lot, it is interesting how different we all experience the world, just a little observation from a bulgarian, who has traleved quite a lot in Europe and just a bit outside - I felt too overwhelmed with the public transport in Japan - yes it is very extensive, clean and punctual - but it was also quite expensive, very overcrowded and sometimes so complex to figure out the central railway hubs and even where to stand waiting on the platform that I can never rate it so high, it was just energy-draining. Also we experienced 2 major service interuptions that were absolute horror, also no information was available in english so it was very difficult to re-organise the trip. I liked the food quality but in regard to international food and coffee - it was the worst place I have visited.

My (American) son moved to Poland 10 years ago and I have always found it safe and easy to navigate. I go there about once a year. If you need help in English it is best to ask someone in the younger generations. I was in Ukraine once in 2021 and thought that it seemed pretty safe before the war.

I've been in alot of countries I would say that Eastern Europe is the friendliest and the most helpful I definitely prefer those over most other areas
I travel on my own so being easier and friendlier is important.

Hoi, Alina, sure a good idea to show us all the different places and for sure the exact opinion about it. If there is time avail I recommend a visit to National China/Taiwan. The worst thing I find in countries is when they all have the same stores in the malls etc. It makes it seem like the planet is one big mall with no cultural differences...high use of english also takes away from the travel experience

Very interesting observations, the only thing I really disagree with is the worst nature. From the mentioned countries Belgium (have the least impressive natural landscapes overall, no big mountains or vast wilderness), UAE (mostly desert, very limited forests, rivers, or biodiversity), Hungary (gentler landscapes, flat) and Czech Republic (gentler landscapes) have worst nature. Italy, Austria, Montenegro, Ireland, Japan, China are extremely diverse and scenic. Bulgaria, Serbia, Ukraine, Poland have rich and underrated nature (mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, caves, waterfalls, wildlife, canyons, gorges, ect.) which are really impressive.

I'm amazed that Ireland beat Japan in service. I've yet to go, and this moves the emerald isle up on my list. I've been back in Canada for a week, and after Japan, the public transportation is almost non existent. I'm already trying to figure out how to return to Japan. I finally actually experienced a real earthquake. 20 seconds of rocking and rolling, and realizing you've just got to ride it out. 'But I'm still mesmerized by this country.
I enjoy being able to vicariously travel with you to so many amazing places.

As a Chinese expat living in Australia, I just spent three weeks in Italy and I have to say, it exceeded my expectations. I was genuinely impressed by the food, history, and the value for money (especially compared to other EU countries).
As for China, it’s definitely not easy—even locals complain about the tourist traps during peak season, so I know it’s hard for foreigners. However, it is a special place. The mix of ancient history and modern tech is something you can't find anywhere else. Once you become an 'expert' at navigating it, the sheer variety makes you want to keep going back.

I travelled to Argentina, Brazil, Portugal, Colombia, and Canada. Best country for me is Brazil. Worst is Canada (obviously).

It’s very interesting when it comes to Montenegro. I’ve been to all the Balkan countries, and I’ve often wondered why customer service varies so drastically across the region. Some countries are consistently baf in this regard, while others are the complete opposite. My experience with Montenegro matches yours. I also got scammed there first thing after leaving the airport.
I’d also add Romania and Moldova to the list- customer service in both was terrible in my experience, with staff often rude or uninterested in helping, while random people on the street were incredibly friendly and helpful (especially in Romania).
Then you have countries like Serbia or Bosnia, which are extremely customer-oriented and welcoming. I’m not sure why the differences are so drastic, but the contrast between countries is huge.
Poland is also often perceived as rude- and honestly, I agree

我还想补充一下罗马尼亚和摩尔多瓦，这两个地方也得列入名单。根据我的经历，那里的客户服务也是一样糟糕，工作人员常常态度粗鲁或者压根儿就不想帮忙。可是，街上遇到的陌生人却又热情得不得了，特别乐于助人（在罗马尼亚尤其明显）。
然后，再看看像塞尔维亚或波黑这样的国家，它们完全是以客户为中心的，待人接物非常热情好客。我也搞不懂为什么差异会如此之大，但国家之间的这种对比确实是极其鲜明的。
波兰也常常被人觉得不友善，说实话，我对此深有同感。
