Why complain about affordable EVs? We all want good affordable products. Its good for the environment to drive EVs and use solar panels.
Chinese subsidies is for all people. US subsidies are for the super wealthy and weapons manufacturers

Just watching this video makes it seem like China today is what North America was in the 50's and 60's. Before a bunch of people in suits and a corporate office needed to justify their jobs sending occasional emails, holding meeting about topics they don't understand, and going on "work trips"
@stefenleung
The cameras on the driver wheel is to catch up if the driver's looking away or sleeping. It's not to send the image away for arrest, just to stop the car if that happen. A good safety measure for people inside and outside the car.

China has dream over capacity.. amazing.. world will thank to China for all affordable technologies
@deadbutmoving
As an engineer, I visited China a few months ago to attend a convention and I was astounded. They are already ahead of us in many key technologies and the gap is widening very quickly. We Westerners need to get our act together RIGHT NOW, because the Chinese are not slowing down, in fact they are accelerating ahead. If this continues within 5 years China will be soo far ahead we will not be able to compete.
After my trip, I finally realized why the media has to constantly lie to us about China. Because if they told us the truth, we'd see how much tax money our government and their corporate masters are wasting without any real benefits to the people. The Chinese government collects much less in tax revenue from their citizens and businesses, yet have to support a population of 1.4 Billion people, and is still able to provide at least 5x more benefits to their citizens than ours. I became REALLY angry at the government and it's lobbyists after I went to China, and that's when it clicked for me; THAT'S exactly why we are not allowed to be shown how well China is doing, it would foster way too much criticism and dislike for the ruling elites in the West. China's success is a major threat to our political establishment, and it doesn't matter what the Chinese do, their existence as a successful state will always be a threat our corrupt political systems.
@yonight6871
You are very brave. Because all Western media are controlled by American NGOs. The US government is very politically hostile to Chinese socialism.BBC and CNN's reports on China are all negative.Western media always describe China as: "backward smoggy cities, where everyone still rides bicycles and wear grey old clothes because they are all poor and starving!The streets are full of police and soldiers, and people live in fear."Oh........All of my western friends who made visits to China came back with extremely high praises on China.All cities are modern.clean and very safety.There are no guns, drugs, homeless people, LGBT, delinquents, thieves, or violence in China. It is a very safe country.This the true.True you can not see it in Western media when they speak about China.

More than 70% buses were eletrical in Beijing since 20 years ago. From wire-charged to battery-powered, they've gone through a whole process of development in this industry for decades. It's not achieved all of a sudden
@buddy1155
You can't compare Chinese prices with western prices, an VW ID.3 costs in China €18K and in Europe it is €35K, Building, logistics and sales are just a lot cheaper.
As soon as you start shipping or building in a western country it becomes a lot more expensive.
@justinlynch6691
I think automation changes this. Then it just becomes cost of electricity and government grabbing their share
@buddy1155
@justinlynch6691 Costs are still more expensive in the west, just think about the ground prices for the factory, or all the materials to build the factory but even electricity. You can replace "cheap" labour with automation but you have to hire more expensive engineers to maintain the robotics in the factory.
Automation will help a bit but will not make the price difference go away.

We actually can’t have that level of efficiency and advancement in Canada. They have the “advantage” of dictating what is the priority. Our Canadian problem is we can’t make a decision that may benefit 80% of the population because 5% of that population makes the most noise and makes it impossible to complete that goal.
We need ingenuity and genius leading the way. Instead we have people that barely have an arts degree making political policy based on the fringe group of radical ideas. We need to go back to common sense building and funding things that make Canada better, not sending money away to areas that don’t share our same collective values. We as Canadians have a broke system, that does not promote ingenuity and building greatness. We could have everything that this country seems to show off, we actually have everything they are using to build there economy with.

Yes sir. Now China is moving inland to keep families together. Before they had to move to big cities in the coast but now they can stay in their region and make the same money and life is cheaper in tier 4-5 cities. China CPC really cares about its people. The coast cities will make advance technology products
@JackReacheround
All NA manufacturers have been given AMPLE opportunity to make cheap cars but they will ALWAYS put profits before people. Until we can force companies to take losses (in this case simply make not as much profit) this will not stop here. How much money have we given them? and they act like 40 grand is super cheap. But then the government is in a tough spot because those companies can just up and take the factories overseas or down south if they're taxed for regulated too much; it happens all the time here in Canada where companies leave the market due to high operational costs, But they're only high in the sense that they can't make more and more billions every year.
@halofour01
It's all down to the greed of the people at the top. They could care less about our countries, our people, or the world. It's just a game to them. Who can pocket the most money and to hell with everyone and everything else. Protectionism is bullshit and it's dragging us down. If the executives won't accept a reasonable compensation package and put the money back into the company and the people then we need to let them fail.

7:46 With thirty million people living in that city, and you haven't had a line is just unbelievable. We need this type of efficiency everywhere in huge populated cities. I like to hear such innovation. 16:17 This is exactly how we need to beautify our environmental scenery, just like this drain or river in this episode. The scenery is breathtaking.

Not American appreciating what peace, beauty and innovation truly feels like. They actually toured a haven. And they felt like Africans that truly traveled out of their countries to a more developed one.

stock buyback should honestly be illegal for any company taking subsidy. buyback is what got boeing into the trouble it is in now and it just sad to see such a great company ruin itself so the CEO and shareholder can milk it for money...
@michaelclark3192
It's almost like straight up capitalism over all else isn't the best for innovation or the people. Here in Australia American cars are known to be bad quality so have never sold well but the rise of amazing Chinese cars that gain more popularity every day are worrying the Japanese and Koreans now. Even just today I learnt that Citroen pulled out of our market by its distributor as it only sold 83 cars this year and is being replaced by another Chinese brand Foton coming back. They last gained a following by selling Cummins powered medium pickups for a very cheap price here in the 2010s.
@albertcadgame8314
Support Chinese EVs so the prices of EVs will reduce worldwide. Then most people in the near future can afford to own a slick EV supercar, not only in China but in western countries too.
Becos competition will push prices down.

The comments.
I'm from Africa. If not for China, we won't have had access to so many technologies that we have today. Chinese affordable products made so many things that we previously above our finance that came from the West, suddenly available to acquire. Plus China inventing and manufacturing so many things, makes obtainable products more vast than what is in the West.
@chrisfreemesser5707
Complicated subject. The Chinese government has a history of heavily subsidizing their industries so they can sell products at crazy low prices and put western competition out of business, and I have zero doubt all of these "amazingly cheap EVs" are only cheap because of this. In that case putting a tariff on their vehicles is appropriate. However, domestic companies have a history of using tariffs to justify raising their prices for no good reason. Case in point, domestic steel became 25% more expensive when Trump tariffed Chinese steel, and that screwed over companies like Ford who buy (bought?) all of their steel from domestic producers.
Long story short, when for-profit entities are involved, the consumer will get screwed in some way/shape/form.
@Torchedini
Can we also compare the average buying power of a Chinese customer to a us person? Quick google says that a Chinese person has 22K USD, the US person has 40K.
So the cars are actually pretty evenly priced. Luxury is still very luxury. It is just that Chinese luxury feels more attainable.
@kalvinravn8431
Funny this feels like the late 1980’s when I saw how advanced the technology is in Japan. I’m from Indiana here in The USA and it seems we are always playing catch up to vehicle technology but we sure do have the most advanced Military….Do we???
@bobsmith3983
The USA doesn't have the most advanced military. It has fallen behind in that also. The Houthi proved it.
@williamhu1401
The US certainly still spends the most money on their military of any nation, but there probably should be questions about how far said money is going given how profit driven the arms industry seems to be. There is also the issue of potential manufacturing shortfalls in the case of a sudden military escalation.
The one major advantage the US does have over China in their military is the fact that their military has actually fought multiple conflicts in the past few decades, whereas the pla hasn't really had to fight much since the 1980s in Vietnam. How much that experience actually matters against a peer opponent instead of much less well-equipped Middle Eastern nations and insurgents remains to be seen.
Ideally we never get a major armed conflict between 2 nuclear capable nations in the first place.
@ttonygreybeard
At least in North America you still have vehicle manufacturing, GM, Ford & Toyota all pulled out of Australia now we are forced to buy utter crap imported from China, Korea & India at high prices. To own a GM pick up we have to import it change it to righthand drive & pay $100k+for a 5 year old pick up... I want a V8 or diesel in my vehicles not an oversized vibrator motor & touch screen.
@Vaino_Hotti
I will start believing in Chinese quality when their stuff starts hitting 10, 15, 20 years old. Already seeing disappointing longevity and quality from the Chinese MG EVs...
I want to believe, but it'll take alot of convincing.
Also screw all the screens and gimmicks, those will never sell a car to me. No matter if its Chinese, japanese or german.

Anything the U.S cant control they sanction or tariff. Soon the american people are gonna see it for themselves, the Chinese are so far ahead when it comes to quality of life technology and cost of living. tariffs have always meant you know you cant compete.

Actually, it is unbelievable. Maybe where they are travelling is not a common area for the average person living in China; The video didn't seem to be showing that much population density for 30 million people.
@lovelight736
Not American appreciating what peace, beauty and innovation truly feels like. They actually toured a haven. And they felt like Africans that truly traveled out of their countries to a more developed one.
@lagrangewei
stock buyback should honestly be illegal for any company taking subsidy. buyback is what got boeing into the trouble it is in now and it just sad to see such a great company ruin itself so the CEO and shareholder can milk it for money...
@michaelclark3192
@albertcadgame8314
Support Chinese EVs so the prices of EVs will reduce worldwide. Then most people in the near future can afford to own a slick EV supercar, not only in China but in western countries too.
Becos competition will push prices down.

Lived in Shanghai 15 years ago. Maybe a lot has changed.
I heard from friends that still live there things got a lot less crowded around 2020…
@DeEmperor1
@chrisfreemesser5707
@Torchedini
Can we also compare the average buying power of a Chinese customer to a us person? Quick google says that a Chinese person has 22K USD, the US person has 40K.
So the cars are actually pretty evenly priced. Luxury is still very luxury. It is just that Chinese luxury feels more attainable.
@kalvinravn8431
Funny this feels like the late 1980’s when I saw how advanced the technology is in Japan. I’m from Indiana here in The USA and it seems we are always playing catch up to vehicle technology but we sure do have the most advanced Military….Do we???
@bobsmith3983
The USA doesn't have the most advanced military. It has fallen behind in that also. The Houthi proved it.
@williamhu1401
@ttonygreybeard
@Vaino_Hotti
@TheManInTheRing
Anything the U.S cant control they sanction or tariff. Soon the american people are gonna see it for themselves, the Chinese are so far ahead when it comes to quality of life technology and cost of living. tariffs have always meant you know you cant compete.
