But, there are other opinions on this. Buried deep in this Truth Social post of his is the statement that he is going to start negotiations with Canada immediately. It’s not entirely clear if it is to acquire one half of the new Gordie Howe bridge or if it to renegotiate CUSMA. That’s something that the Canadian government is paying serious attention to.
If negotiations do start in earnest, the Conservatives, in the person Jamil Jivani are going to take the credit for making it happen. Mr. Javani came back from his one person expedition to the US halls of power with the message that Donald trump loves us and that we can make a deal with him.
