The difference between S. Korea & the U.S. is Yoon Suk Yeol was trying hard to declare martial law to where in the U.S. no President has ever tried to declare martial law. Last time martial law was declared for the entire country was WW2 I believe.

From a Korean perspective, I personally feel that President Yoon Suk-yeol’s early term shared many similarities with Trump’s current actions—particularly regarding a lack of respect, narcissistic tendencies, and diplomatic missteps. While I’m hesitant to criticize the politics of another country, my strong disapproval of Trump’s style comes from a place of concern. that was a protest/riot not a insurrection. trump didn't declare martial law. he considered invoking the insurrection act, but backed out.
