Was not a missile. They didn't need to waste a missile. It was gun rounds from the 5 inch, 62 caliber gun on the front of the USS Spruance. Each round weighs about 70 lbs. Sounds like it was three rounds. Which is plenty enough to mess up the tankers engine room.

The navy should be careful, it would be relatively easy for the Iranians to hide anti-ship missiles in shipping containers and hit them at close range. Or hide a hundred soldiers to try and capture the boarding party.

John Bolton got the basic fact wrong. The ship was not a tanker, but a container ship. Also it was disabled,not by a missile, but from 3 shells fired from the main gun of the Destroyer.

We'll find out then if our ships are as vulnerable to swarms of drones as I fear they are. The captured Iranian cargo ship came from China! It will be VERY interesting to see what items in the HUGE cargo ship? May be contain shoulder fire missiles or *mad pod that brought down our F-15, that China told Trump they are NOT sending weapons to Iran? We should find out in 2-3 days after fully inspecting all those containers!
