Having worked in Vietnam for 6 years (Hanoi and Binh Duong ) and having travelled different part of Vietnam and India, I think, I am eligible to answer this. Vietnam has a better infrastructure and more FDI’s than in India and the unemployment rate is very low. Industrialists are looking for provinces, where availability of labour is more, which is just opposite to India. In VSIP alone there are employees around 4000- 5000 are working in a Single Factory, which is rare in India. With the current scenario of trade war between US and China, most of the investment will be diverted to Vietnam than to India. Vietnamese people enjoy more freedom and better standard of life than Indians generally.

If you know that in Ho Chi Minh City has a factory with more than 100,000 workers working together, you will probably be more surprised. One Samsung factory has 60,000 workers, and there are 2 Samsung factories in northern Vietnam.

Who told you that?!?!! Most of India’s development happened after the British left India. Sure, I agree that American scientists helped with the green revolution of the 1960s-70s, but most of India’s development has been made by Indians, specifically after 1991 when the economy liberalized. There were practically no foreigners in big government positions in India.

There is no single “they” in India,Most states in India are as big as Vietnam and The west Indian state of Maharashtra is super rich and is bigger than Vietnam, and has a bigger GDP than vietnam, Mumbai city in Maharashtra is one of the richest city in Asia and its quite beautiful. While the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh is a literal hell, poor and under developed. The Indian state of Kerala has world class development Indicators, the HDI of Kerala is higher than Vietnam, but The Indian state of Bihar is another hell. The people of India are very diverese, the people of my state Mizoram look just like you. So in short, Vietnam is much easier to run as a country becausw it is more homogenous, India is too diverse.

India seems to be a more developed nation, actually India got plundered like anything during British rule, that's why ppl call India as the pearl in the crown of British Empire, India is one of the most democratic nations, here majority live in their own way not trying to copy or imitate europeans,

Sorry but on paper Kerala may seem as good as Vietnam but in reality the infrastructure is much better than Kerala.

india has got its problems which should be fixed and maybe vietnam being a small country compared to india is a bit more developed in rural areas(which i seriously doubt) ..

Let's compare total gdp which is around 3 trillion for us and 200 billion i think for Vietnam. According to current stats India's literacy rate is around 84. Our budget for education is 5% ( u are wrong here). The number of stem students is highest in the world. Your population is 90 million so it's just somekind of joke to comparing with a 1.3 billion country. And as of life expectancy data i would say one thing “life should be grand not long”
