I’ve noticed a lot of people have been saying Australia but as a pregnant Mom who is currently living in Australia, I have to disagree. I grew up in Canada and my husband grew up in Australia. We have PR in both places.
There are many sacrifices you need to be willing to make if you raise a family in Australia; your children will never experience the seasons, white christmases, thanksgiving dinners, winter sports like skiing and skating, or growing up in a friendly and polite Canadian culture.

Australian kids, and Australian people, are a part of a rougher culture so your kids will grow up with a lot of cursing and exposure to the “bogan” culture. The general public is more rough as well which is why there are signs in hospitals and government offices stating not to beat up employees. As a Canadian, I can’t imagine that ever being so much of a problem that a sign was needed.

Because of these differences in culture, raising a family in Canada is in our eyes, the only and best choice.
We’ve also found that although my husband and I are able to make a lot of money here, we actually are not able to save as much as we would living in Canada because of the much higher living costs. Housing here is generally very poorly built, but significantly more expensive. Tax is also higher in Australia and money is not worth as much, so the higher wages are actually quite misleading. At the end of the day, you’re saving more in Canada and able to buy assets faster and more reasonably in Canada.
Lastly, the weather in Australia is lovely for most of the year, but it lacks seasons and proximity to other places. Globally speaking, both countries are good choices but for raising a family, these are the things we’ve really considered

I live in Australia but have visited Canada many times. Life in Canada is cheaper like food, houses than in Australia but Australia is more developed than Canada. Both Canada and Australia are reasonably resilient economies that are heavily reliant on mining and resources, tourism, education sectors. Unemployment in Canada is higher than in Australia. Canada Weather is colder than in Australia. you can do business easily in Canada because of the USA (the Biggest economy in the word) near to the USA. Canada is a much bigger manufacturing base as compared to Australia, while Australia is more widely popular for its US IT firms and their regional Head-Quarters. So, blue-collar wages are better in Canada, whereas white-collar jobs pay more in Australia.

Although there is no safe place in the world. I've lived in both countries and feel that Canada is safer overall. Australia has a lot of drunken physical violence & general aggression and far more property damage like graffiti, vandalism, littering, etc.

Literacy is almost the same in both countries but Australia has an edge with regard to the quality of universities. There are 12 universities in Australia that belong in the top 100 universities compared to only 3 of Embassy of Canada to Italy is to be noted that Canada spends 3.6% of its GDP on education while Australia budgets 5.1% of GDP to education.
According to the points which are mentioned above, Both countries are good for living.

While Canada and Australia are both highly developed nations offering an array of opportunities in various fields, talking about living with family, however, requires quite a few more considerations to be made.
First of which, I believe, is safety. Canada in this aspect has rarely ever shown a breach. Secondly, both these counties offer a multicultural community and society for children to grow up in. There is a general tolerance and acceptance for people of various ethnic backgrounds.

One of the most convenient facilities Canada has to offer to its immigrants is the presence of immigrant serving organisations at various regions that help immigrants to look for accommodation and employment opportunities. Surprisingly, the cost of living in Canada, unlike most developed nations, is quite low. The government of Canada also offers free education, health care and affordable housing facilities, making it easier for people to think of settling there.

Both countries are safe, have low crime rates, similar legal and political systems and rights, both have excellent health and education systems. Both are great places to raise children.
They have significant differences in climate. There are probably differences in job opportunities and transient economic situations but both have solid economies with good long term opportunities.
Both countries are large with a small population and large areas between some population centres. That means that living in Toronto or Edmonton is very different just as living as is Darwin and Adelaide is. Larger centres are very different from smaller centres. Rural is different again.
To say that one is better or the other is probably very tough if not impossible on a macro scale (for all people). One may be better for you and your family but that comes down to what is more important to you. Either one is going to be a good choice.
BTW, I am Canadian.

When I moved here from Australia, *nobody* asked me where I come from. It’s rare that people do now 21 years later. My mother has lived in Australia since 1967, speaks exceptional English, and to this day nearly every time she goes out in Melbourne somebody asks where she comes from.

Never lived in Canada before but I heard it is great. As a non white person lived in Australia for 10 years, I regret my decision due to racism and prejudice, and it is not just me and to make it worse, racism is on the rise.
Verdict: If you are white, both countries are down to your preference for the climate. If you are non white, I believe Canada is better
