The greatest mistake I ever made was to be afraid of my mistakes. They are my stepping stones to greatness.Don't keep crying because of a mistake . Learn from it and move on. Stop blaming yourself over things you have actually no control over isn't it? People make mistakes and bad choices too but that's a part of growth. If you are not learning then you aren't growing. Mistakes should be your motivation and not your excuses. Life goes on , so don't waste your time worrying about your mistakes.

Things that I learnt from my mistakes:-
Never ever choose a miser as your roommate.
The one who waves at you and does small talk may not necessarily be a friend. There is a big difference between a colleague and a friend.
Maintain a budget. You won’t turn bankrupt, 10 days prior to the end of month.
Don’t make future promises on the basis of your present circumstances.
The people who promised everlasting togetherness today may disappear tomorrow in thin air. So, spend time alone and make peace with solitude. One day, it might be the only option left to you.

Not speaking my mind out in front of everyone and blowing out secrets.
Keeping money in 2 or 3 different places when I travel.Talking less to employees.Passion is okay but profitability as an aspect of business should never be ignored.

Not relying on current source of income, in todays world you need to be well prepared to switch jobs or businesses.Luxury of today is a scrap of tomorrow.
Staying away and interacting less with negative people.
I keep busy to avoid stress and depression like I am writing this answer at 4 am.

I stay well dressed all the time after I embarrased myself once some years ago.
I don't over worry or get over attached to my possesions. Accessories, buildings, vehicles these things keep coming and going away. (Why should we spoil our day for a car scratch?)
After almost failing in 9th class, I studied respectably before every exam I took thereafter.
I don't take emotional tortures from people succumbing to the need of hour.
I don't work like a donkey any more, I try and use my mind instead.
I calculate my net worth every day. (Financially & emotionally)
I drive slow and enjoy cruising my car instead of competing with fellow drivers.
I place my morals above my needs and circumstances, a “no” is a “no”, “wrong” is “wrong”.
I stopped comparing with successful people and underestimating myself. I carry “I am what I am & I don't care” attitude!
These are a few things I could remember now which I changed in my life after learning from past mistakes.

几年前我让自己难堪之后，我现在一直都穿着得体。

Never hurt your parents. They are the only one who will always be there in your hard times.
Never compromise with your career and self-respect for your girlfriend/boyfriend. If you've to choose, please choose the former one.
Never trust anyone in first few meetings. Looks are deceptive, talks are sugar-coated and people show their best at first.
Never try to prove yourself to anyone. I did. I neither get any apology for saying such hurtful words nor I saw a single gram of shame in her eyes. It’s not worth it.
Never give anyone the fourth chance. Everyone deserves a second chance. A few deserves a third one but no one deserve the next chance.
Never overthink anything. Make peace with your hurt and let it go or else it will haunt you later.
Never give your advice to someone who is not willing to take it or didn't ask for it.
Never get into hate for someone. You will carry the person everywhere in your head.
Never think twice to walk away from any toxic relationship (friends or gf/bf).
Never argue with stupids. They have the power to make you feel worthless and doubtful.
Never wait for an apology or any explanation. Forgive and move on.

I loved some people with all my heart. They were supposed to be my friends for life. At least that's what they told me.
Their confirmation on their presence in my life made me put an extra effort. That just turned out to be a sweet lie.
Trying to be a part of their life, I lost myself. And when they were gone , I was left alone not knowing who I was.
Never chase people beyond your self respect.

‘Loving the wrong person selflessly’
"Perhaps the problem isn't the intensity of your love, but the quality of the people you are loving" - Warsan shire.
It has been aptly said that, "Love doesn't hurt, loving the wrong person does". I wish, I could have understood and inculcated this saying in my life long before trouble came in a handsome disguise. A wrong partner did plenty of things to me, the most important being changing your defining traits, deleting something that used to be introduction, made me lose a part of me, which I couldn't recover, like a horcrux.
However, that incident has made me realise a lot many things. It has taught me lessons in life that I don't think I would have learned otherwise. I'm now much stronger, independent and bereft of any pain.
It's the acceptance of the harsh reality that has always encumbered my life and surroundings that made me understand what I'm worth.
I believe true love and undying trust is rarer than the snow leopard. I cherish what I’ve been gifted and what I’ve earned to this day and I take pleasure in the little, seemingly trivial things, that's around me. I believe that’s what makes my life a beautiful image that I present. And that is a collage of such tiny inexplicable experiences with wonderful ideas, people and events. I'm at inner peace and there is no other feeling that can parallel the same I have right now.
I'm thankful that I fell for the wrong person as that taught me to love myself always more than anyone. It helps me realise that the one person that can unconditionally love me right now is, me and me alone. It will, eventually teach anyone to be emotionally independent, and grow as an individual.

When Thomas Alva Edison was in the process of making a light bulb, a bulb that could bring light, to the homes of millions,he failed 1000 times. It was not failure, it was the fact of making mistakes. But eventually, when he succeeded in his 1001th attempt, he exclaimed that rather than saying that he could not make a bulb 1000 times, he learned 1000 different ways, of not making a bulb !
Mistakes are always forgiven, until one has the courage to admit it !
Yesterday, while solving maths,I wrote 2+2=2. It was not ignorance, it was my mistake. I mentioned this to my teacher, and asked her to ignore this mistake, and give me marks. She replied that she would personally ensure that I lost two marks, so that I remember that mistake, throughout my life !

金无足赤，人无完人。

There is a fine line between caring and interfering. Mind it.
If you have to choose between a person or your self - respect. Choose the latter one, if you don't want to regret.
Capture every moment, because it is going to become a memory. Why don't make it memorable?
Don't gossip about anyone because ultimately you aren't smearing others, but yourself.
Don't connect with whom you don't want or you had bitter past because if things would have worked out then it would have worked out earlier too.
Don't give advices until and unless it was ask by someone. Giving free advices is dangerous.
Never ever care if you can dance well or not. Just stand up and dance.:)

Mistake : Did some really stupid things, made friends with the wrong people while in school just to become cool. After sometime, got rejected from the same people.
Lesson learned : I am different, you are different. I will not change myself for you until my conscience allows me to do so.
Mistake : Believed that my life revolved around one person. Did all that I could to stop him from leaving my life. Wrote lengthy text messages, cried for hours, had sleepless nights, got a new number and called him just to listen his voice and indulged myself more in depression.
Lesson learned : Make yourself the centre of your Life. Never run after anybody if he/she is not interested in you. Focus on other great things. You might need sometime to recover from your situation, but that is perfectly okay. Try to keep yourself happy.
Mistake : Trusted the shopkeeper with the bill several times and made a complete fool of myself by paying whatever amount they told.
Lesson learned : Never pay the shopkeeper without checking the bill. Always make sure that you have all the items in the bag for which you paid.
Mistake : Made myself believe that I am a complete idiot as I have committed so many mistakes and that I am good for nothing. Started to focus on all the negative points about myself.
Lesson learned : Nobody is perfect. Everybody has their own set of mistakes. Take them positively. Learn from them. Apologize if required. You will still commit some more, after all you are a human being but never be disheartened.

经验教训：没有人是完美的，每个人都有自己的错误，积极地对待他们，向他们学习，如果需要，请对自己道歉，你还是会多做一些，毕竟你还是人，但永远不要灰心。

My first mistake was joining the Indian Army for a short service commission after obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering against my parents’ advice. That meant my degree was wasted in pursuit of an army career which looked elusive because of my rather weak health. That also meant that I would be without a job in seven years – out of Army and hardly acceptable in Electrical Industry. Even one year’s rigorous training at the Military Academy was pure hell and I escaped it only by completing the course by sheer determination and passing out quite low in the order of merit. But as fate would have it, within five years the short service commission was converted to permanent commission as I was needed at the Chinese border. And thereafter I had very adventurous, soul-satisfying and memorable twenty-two years with the Army.
My second mistake was marrying the woman I loved against advice of my family, friends and colleagues. Since we married quietly in a temple, there were no guests and no gifts. Forced austerity and my continued mock flirtations and resultant quarrels made both of us wish we had listened to our betters. Very rapidly the situation changed when we were blessed with a son and I was promoted against the recommendation of my boss. Two lovely daughters followed and we have lived happily ever after.

My third mistake was retiring prematurely from the Army after I had a heart attack. The mistake was compounded when I signed a contract to serve as Highway engineer in Tobago, West Indies. My army colleagues advised me to stay in the Army and enjoy some posts that would permit sedentary lifestyle rather than risk another heart attack in strange environment. My Doctor told me he would be surprised if I didn’t die during the long flight! On arrival in Tobago a fellow engineer mocked my credentials for building a highway; after all my degree was in Electrical Engineering and experience in military engineering. The thought of abandoning my contract and returning home crossed my mind. But I blundered on. A few years later the Highway was opened by the President of the country with the words, “Completion of Claude Noel Highway was one bit of good news in an ocean of bad news.” For me, living in my new country was like coming alive from dead.
What did I learn from these mistakes? I wish I had made a few more mistakes! When I made a mistake I did not reach a dead end. It was only a bend beyond which there was a new horizon that revealed a new life, a new vision and a new manifestation of God’s love.

3. Waiting too long to do what I really want to do. Lesson is do not wait too long to realize your dreams. Take the plunge now.
