My wife really wanted a mini, but I'm not sold on the lack of safety gear. So we settled on the BYD EA2 Dolphin. Not so intimidating driving in city traffic.

The weight, performance and RWD all remind me of a VW Beetle, which I used as a daily driver back in the seventies. The Beetle worked brilliantly, even though I would have loved the tailgate, silent propulsion and better weight distribution that the Panda offers. Not a bad deal.

These would be such great cars for a lot of people. The low purchase price, a decent amount of range, 2 + 2 seating would work for a lot of people/families, fold-down rear seats for hauling cargo — it all makes sense. Many people could get by with this as their only car and definitely a lot of people could buy this as an additional vehicle instead of a huge traditional car. And by all means, ditch the car and get an electric bike, scooter, skateboard, or another crazy electric mobility device and have fun getting places instead of being stuck in traffic. Life's too short not to have fun.
