Why do Indians like to copy Western people?
Western culture is predominantly in the modes of raja guna and tama guna. These two modes of nature are very attractive to people who want to ‘enjoy life to the full’, with little thought for the morrow. So because this raja guna and tama guna is less developed in India, many Indians are attracted to the Western culture because it appears to offer more and better sense-gratification.
Added to that the British had a great mastery over propaganda and dented some Indian’s confidence in themselves, and the Americans have great mastery over marketing ideas and products. Because traditional Indian culture is based in the mode of goodness, for the more rajasic/passionate Indians, the West (within limits) is the way to go.
What should be noted is that there are many Western people who are more in sattva guna and they like to copy Indian culture. They take up yoga and Indian vegetarian cuisine, they try to still the mind with pranayama and meditation, They have considerable interest in Indian ‘spiritual’ teachers of all different shapes and shades.
It’s really a question of more opportunities being available combined with people looking for what they want outside of what they grow up with.

Why do we Indians love copying things from everyone & end up taking pride in it?
Its not the matter of copying anything.
Nothing last to only one piece always. One day there comes the same quality person or product again.
Most of the thing which seems to be copies were develop with new innovative ideas.
First aircraft was sent to universe by USSR but one we also stand in the same category of space approaching countries. It doesn't mean er copied it its just that we did it show our own calibre doing it too if others can do.
If at first milk was squeezed from cow on America doesn't mean Indian cow can't produce milk. It was just that we never tried it before. It is not copying, It is learning and just do it the way we can.
I am proud of being the citizen of India.

Why are Indians against each other?
Believe it or not but, every person feels the same including me! Let me tell you a small incident that had occurred today. One of my friend, Ashutosh Pandey, who studies in my class was standing for a post in our school parliament. Unfortunately, one other student along with some teacher tried to change the nominations and so Ashutosh got to know about it. When he went and tried to resolve the issue and stop the corruption from taking place, he felt like he was the odd one out even though he was dong the right thing because everybody was criticizing him. He comes to me and says that everybody thinks he has done a bad thing and that everybody was against him regarding his decisions. Mark my words, Ashutosh is a very brave, smart and intelligent student an knows how to handle situations like this. I told him to keep his calm and go ahead with whatever he was doing. This was just a small glimpse into the psychology behind hatred between two Indians. Not only Indians, people from all over the world are against each other. This does not mean that you must not do the right thing just because everybody else is doing the wrong thing. Coming towards answering the question as to why Indians are against each other, there is no definite purpose behind this kind of behavior. As you said, the attitude difference between foreign people and Indians are very diverse. I would not say that Indians are against each other, but it would be more appropriate to say that a group of people who do not agree on a decision, often tend to go against each other. Everybody wants their work to be done first without caring about what the second person wants to say. The only way to stop this kind of ill thinking is to be frank and look into the facts and possibilities, and why do you say that only you feel this way? If you feel that you are failing in life and have no hope, there are millions who feel the same way! So I would suggest that you deal with your problems in a positive way and don't care about the silly comments people tend to give to person who thinks wisely.

Why are Indians so concerned about what others think?
They are insecure and superficial.
They think wealth brings social status. But they behave like jerks when they become rich. Wealth doesn't always bring class and sophistication.
They ask 'How much do you earn?', 'Are you married?', 'Do you have any kids?' and 'What does your father do?' to complete strangers.
They buy a car just to show off. But they rarely use it. They can't drive it well either.
They think fairer skin is more beautiful. They will hate/insult anyone who is fairer than them and make fun of anyone who is darker than them.

They spend too much on weddings because they have to maintain their social status.
They want a son to carry forward their family name. And this applies to uneducated labourers who are earning minimum wages and have no property. I wonder what proud family history they have. They keep on producing 10 or 15 girls in their quest to find a male heir. This adds to population, poverty, malnutrition, begging and child labour.
Giving birth to a girl is a matter of shame. I don't know why. 50% of the world is female.
They want their son to be a class topper and they put enormous pressure on kids to get good marks. They enrol kids to IITJEE preparation classes from class X. Some people start JEE preparation in class VIII.
They fake English or American accent. They are ashamed of their mother tongue.

Why do we Indians love copying things from everyone & end up taking pride in it?
In past we indians were under the clutches of colonial rule. We are yet to break open from our colonial rule.
The sooner we realize we had a great past and take pride, We will be able to jump farther.

Why are Indians against each other?
I think part of it lies in olden days Hinduism where every person is unique and they need to come up on their own and successful. This lead to castes. Until Islam and Christianity took advantage and ruled India. Their principles lies in unity and togetherness.
Modern current India learnt to live together leaving little aside castes and religion.
But still it exists and continued somehow. As long it is there we will be fighting each other trying to be successful.
Another due to population. More population lesser jobs and infighting to live.
Last one people don't think or understand and act.

Why is it so important for Indians to know what other people think about them?
Being an Indian and having observed both orthodox and modern people,I can say it with 100% surity that some of us Indians crave for VALIDATION.Validation from the society. This crave could be about many things like Validation related to studies, social status etc etc.
The crave level is so high that people prepare for UPSC level exams and aquire high posts so that their social status goes to high level and the spectators can say , "look look,he is an IAS."
For this one sentence, people are ready to waste their time.

Can you give some examples of copycat companies?
A copycat company refers to a business that imitates the products, services, branding, or business model of a successful company. Here are a few examples:
xiaomi - A Chinese electronics company that was heavily influenced by Apple's design and marketing strategy.
Mejuri - A jewelry brand that followed the footsteps of Cartier and Tiffany & Co.
Baidu - A Chinese search engine that was modeled after Google.
Zara - A fashion retailer that copied the fast-fashion business model of H&M.
The Cheesecake Factory - A restaurant chain that followed the menu and atmosphere of The Olive Garden.
Note: It's important to note that imitation and inspiration are common in business, but the line between the two can be thin, and the legality of copycatting depends on the laws of the country in question.

Mejuri:

Why do rich Indians try so hard to copy American culture?
lot of them are confused, they don’t know the difference between american and english
I’m born and raised in Americas and moved to India, so I don’t fake nothing it is what it is.
and another thing Indians need to understand is american does not = white
America is just as diverse as Indian when it comes to skin color….the strongest and smartest of the Americas are NOT white people so keep dreaming LoL

Why is it so important for Indians to know what other people think about them?
The most distinguishing features of Indians are they highly value their family. It is nothing less than a miracle that when the divorce rates of many western countries have risen to more than 50%, the divorce rates in India is less than 0.5%. The wave of individualism is yet to sweep Indians in any big way.
Family is the most sacred institution in India and the family includes the family of in-laws, cousins and even distant relatives. We are so intimately connected with everyone that everything which is so personal becomes almost a social festival.
The best example is an Indian marriage. It is far more than the unx of two individual human beings.

It is due to social bonding that Indians find a great cushion when they fail or suffer defeats in their life. There is always someone who are willing to provide financial and emotional support to you in the time of your need.
Therefore, it is extremely important for Indians to consider what other people think about them.
They want inclusion and not isolation from society.
They prefer to be interdependent rather than be independent.
They don’t want to make their friends and relatives unhappy for their personal interest.
They seek their happiness in the happiness of everyone they love and relate.

Why do Indians have so much problems with themselves and their very own country?
This is not something unique to Indians.
Suppose you're an ordinary middle class citizen living in a first world democracy. You have everything from food and water to shelter and friends; everything to make you feel confident that you'll wake up tomorrow.
Let's also say that you are a big Steve Jobs fan and you like wearing a turtleneck wherever you go. Your country, being as developed as it is,bans the production and use of turtlenecks because it harms the country's image. Suddenly, the all-giving, all-caring mother becomes a ruthless dictator.
You don't praise your country for giving you food and shelter, you curse it for taking away your turtlenecks.
Such is the case with India. And such is the case with Indians.
Although, instead of turtlenecks they take away our freedom of speech and choice, and they don't ensure food and shelter for all their citizens.

Why do Indians have so much problems with themselves and their very own country?
People who do this are seldom looking for real solutions.
Most of the time, they are merely personally pissed off at something and are venting their answers and upvotes on Quora, looking for other people who would respond with "I know! Right?" .
Being a part of a group united in supporting or opposing something gives a feeling of community and helps reinforce the consistency of one's own thought.
This is also the reason some strongly analytical and complex answers lose out to tongue-in-cheek responses that are gross exaggerations.
Before the internet, these discussions used to happen at tea/coffee houses For our generation, the medium is Quora.
