So now the main obxtive of the war is reopening the Strait of Hormuz which was already the status quo for decades before the start of the war
@angkatanuang
Btw killing other sovereign leader with no clear basis is also war crime. in case the US dont know that.
@izzaazzurri
This is so funny because the strait of hormuz was FREE before the war, unlike many other strait.
@zarryc1687
Starting a war is prohibited under the UN Charter, which makes it sound ridiculous when Gulf states and the US argue that restricting maritime traffic is also a violation of international law. International law is meaningless.
@thevagabond3181
Sometimes, you win so much and so hard that you loop right back around to losing.
@AQqykkdgjludv
Iran being the only country to get into a war and profit directly in real time from it is peak comedy.
@booniedapure
It seems like every video lately has been about this war. While it is important and I do want upxes about it, I want to hear about what else is happening in the world.
@anasfk
Definitely not a supporter of the regime in Iran but in terms of the lesser of two evils if they lose this thing then we're all screwed.
@NearlyGoodGamer
If your opponent doesn’t follow international laws then neither should you
@Haze_Kasaki
I love how the likes of the gulf nations love to quote international law when it's against their adversaries but remain silent about it when talking about the actions of the US and Israel
@dirckthedork-knight1201
The exact same goes for the West in general the so called "International Law" was always just a US scam on the entire world notice that barely any of them condemned the attack on Iran until it became likely that they would be forced to join it on the side of the US
@Arjay404
Right? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
And in this instance Iran's violation of international law isn't even close to the violations that the US and Israel (and the others helping in this war) have done. Trump just kidnapped the leader of another country, bombed the leader of another and then bombed a school. WTF are we even talking about with this "international law" bullshit.
@faar2faar
If this ends up being a master play to choke of the world's oil supply so that America can out pump the world. All those america companies that were opening new wells even though they were barely at break even price last year, now looks really suspicious.
@conradmaclean4073
So Iran realised it could close the strait but keep it open to ships of their choosing. They are a clever bunch.
@Kwippy
Iran has one major advantage over America: Iran's leader, whatever else he is, isn't a stupid imbecile.
@theterraxplain
There’s actually another place like this that ended very differently. Shows how unpredictable these situations are.
@imausualbean
I think it's good to know how Iran is changing the Strait of Hormuz to become more profitable for the country and push the Chinese yuan as the currency to reduce risk of US sanctions, but it's overly speculative to suggest that this will threaten the USD's status as reserve currency considering how early their new toll system is right now. The new toll system is not well-established, therefore the use of Chinese yuan to trade oil is temporary at best. This claim would make more sense 3-6 months from now after the new financial system in the Strait of Hormuz has time to prove itself.
@donkyuss
I agree that only time will tell how effective this will be, but Iran's intent on this is very clear. Its also quite smart, they really seem to grasp how to hit the US where it hurts the most
@Arjay404
I think the idea that is speculation and/or a dream/hope comes across quite clearly. Yeah it's something that technically can happen, but the chance of it happening now as a result of this is so minuscule that it's pretty much impossible. However any threat to the petrodollar, no matter how small is still of note.
@imausualbean
I thought the way they presented Iran threatening the USD as reserve currency sounded overly certain considering how unlikely it was. We can disagree on this. My criticism is that they lead with an attention-grabbing thesis then temper expectations later in the video. The thesis to me is stronger than the more realistic explanation 2 mins later.

What could go wrong going to war just because your master told you so and he expects the enemy to fold and turn tail on day one
@adityarana2897

@mashaprince5324
The tax number on Iran sound too small for their population size. Perhaps I'm missing something.
@moosejawrobinson
Would 40 ships still be able to pass through the Strait daily if Iran diverts all ships between those two islands?
@Denverman1
Iranians are super smart and think through every move, while Trump and his crew don’t really seem to think ahead or get the consequences. So, it looks like the Persians have the upper hand.
@konyaku3072
Whatever method Iran is cashing, the amount is smaller compared to benefits that Trump and associates gained from their investment in stock exchange defense industry
@williamtarleton1857
I don't want to hear any US official whining about international law while they represent a government that wipes its ass with internal law on a regular basis. Ftr, I feel that way about former Biden officials too.
@Kgdfgdfgdf
You need to get your glasses back. The GCC will never allow Iran to control the Strait! Half of it is in the GCC. Ships never enter the Iranian waters, and the act of piracy of the rogue republic will stop peacefully or with deadly force. Kings do have patience, but their response will surely make the IRGC hysteria cry for logic.
@Great_WesternTVFan
This circus is annoying. One dictator against another and another. We need regime changes in all of these. But the society of the US want this war to hap
@cyanmanta
I think Iran would rather not be getting attacked than make money off the strait. However, given that Donnie and Bibi the Amazing War Criminal Twins attacked anyway, I'd say Iran is making the best of a bad situation. Bibi and Donnie, on the other hand, are making the WORST of a bad situation.
@jnmc2498
So USA indirectly gave Iranian regime leverage by chokeholding the Hormuz strait AND money。
The incompetence is staggering.
@Rahul-v7c6g
I hope the toll system doesnt go into permanance , which would increase the cost of petrol , diesel and everything else in the rest of the world even after the war is over
Has iran signed the UNCLOS or not ? Becuse you are saying it hasnt , but the map on the screen is showing it has
@hexgrade177
International law only existed for weaker nations and non-US allies. The Patriot Act literally exists.
@jackfaherty11
i just wanted to say the way you speak about the petrodollar as something that some people argue has strengthened the currency honestly comes off a bit sneaky, i would have thought it was common knowledge that the reason the us economy is so strong is because it essentially imports for free the the amount of dollars others want, on top of this the US can and do print more money and at an accelerated rate, i just rewatched and the words used were "some economists argue" id strongly disagree i think if you look at US foreign policy and recent invasions or whatever you want to call them you can quickly find the pattern showing that dictators are fine as long as they sell oil in dollars and whenever they step out of line theyre killed or removed from power
@eternitynaut
Why must I a world away pay so much more for energy than a month or two ago and become instantly poorer because of some senile, orange toad? Someone, justify why the entirety of humanity has to suffer steeper cost of living just years after a pan demic? Who tf do Americans think they are to inflict this pain on 8 billion people?
@cellokid5104
Anything moving the world away from the US Dollar being the default international trading currency and thus international Dependance on the US, is good in my book
@anvarbeknazarov7148
Love these hypocrites remember about international law when it is convenient. Where was international law when US was imposing illegal sanctions or illegally seizing ship like pirates?
@chromesucks5299
Iran isnt considering taking yuan they are already doing it, USD is useless for them since t hey are under sanctions, but yuan is useful for them.
@grf411
To be fair, paying Iran is much cheaper, and cost effective than not getting any oil or spending billions on the arsenals and deploying your troops, and risking their lives by doing so. Plus, if Trumps operation fails (most probable, since congress is not going to approve the further spending), then that will leave you with very hostile angry Iran.
@kathleenmanning3163
Why would iran open the straight anytime soon when its making so much money out of it. If trump wants it open he is going to have give iran things he will not want to. Clearly he did not think things thru
@CrimzinEclipse2010
Before the war: Iran and Russia both sanctioned from the global economy.
Now: Iran and Russia have their sanctions effectively lifted to keep the global economy from collapsing.
This is going to be studied for years to come.
@adhynugroho9424
I think the rule of law went out the window since 1) Russia attacked Ukraine and 2) Israel destroyed Gaza.
The world is in a worst place then it was 5 years ago. At least it feels that way.
@urwholesomevibes
When US itself is not following the international rules, why must any other country follow the rules set by UN. At this point its just a namesake organisation
@davrosdarlek7058
What's to stop Iran developing a nuke now? Not only will they have double the means, but the US has shown it can't commit to a meaningful land invasion. Nor can it fully destroy the deepest bunkers with missiles. If you slap sanctions on it then it'll just 10x your oil toll.
@lepetitroquet9410
Higher oil prices for the oil Iran continues to sell, while more revenues from their little toll booth.
And the US has no good option to respond.
- sending soldiers on the ground to cut the oil exports just exposes US soldiers to iranian fire at way greater rate, politically complicated to handle
- blockading the ships to cut the oil exports would create a diplomatic nightmare with China
@anthonyk423
If Iran could dodge sanctions by using the yuan they would’ve already done it by now considering China buys 90% of their oil at a discount. Even Russia had to dumb the yuan because it was useless
@djoldschool
So charging for a toll is 'against international law' but declaring war on a sovereign nation with no international agreement is fine?
I never saw myself defending a country like Iran but right now they are no worse than this idiotic US regime.
@zookeeper997
How does iran stop ships? Do they just blow up full oil tanker ships and now they eventually have to deal with giant oil spills in the straight? They probably arnt envionmentally concerned with bombs falling out of the sky and all but would this not affect the water purification and or other major resource gathering in and around the straights? (vaguely remember this from another recent episode abot iran possible escalation) Maybe there is no resource gathering here and I'm over analyzing this particular area.
@jirikrajnak9047
Who gives a flying fuck what the USA deems illegal. They use international law only when convenient. Are people so blind, deaf and dumb to ignore the fact that this whole shitshow in Iran has no legal basis to begin with?
@fbebbe81
Even if they take the long path, the Houthis control Suez path south of Saudi. And those guys are battle hardened after several wars and fearless of death and controlled by Iran.
@Arjay404
Iran should honestly just do this for all ships not bound or flagged by the US or it's allies that are participating in this war. The number might be a bit much (though what percentage of the ships cargo would that fee be?). Essentially make things are convenient and easy for everyone else while punishing the US and the allies participating in this war.
Europe doesn't want to get involved and thinks the war is stupid and illegal, so let them get a "good" deal from Iran, while punishing the US, and this then drive Europe and the US even further apart than what Trump has already done.
@write2pras84
Iranian leaders and diplomats are highly educated: several of them have advanced degrees, few from even ivy institutions such as Stanford, Harvard. I don't know what fool might underestimate their ability to engage strategically.
@youcantata
Asian countries, like China, Japan, and South Korea, are willing to pay for safe passage taxes to Iran. Paying tax is better than the uncertain oil supply and $120 oil price. But the USA should hand off and leave the Middle East alone. Don't poke the USA's nose into ME politics. Now other countries are free to buy Iranian oil.

The United States maintains its leadership through innovation, resilience, and global influence. Even amid challenges, its economy, research institutions, and entrepreneurial spirit remain exceptionally strong. What truly distinguishes America is its capacity to adapt and reinvent itself across generations — and that adaptability is the foundation of its enduring long-term power.

@andro5t
I don't think Iran did mine the strait of hurmuz simply because it's really easy for them to destroy a tanker if that tanker go through the strait
Since tanker are big slow and very flammable targets just one Shahid drones is more than enough

@donkyuss
I agree that only time will tell how effective this will be, but Iran's intent on this is very clear. Its also quite smart, they really seem to grasp how to hit the US where it hurts the most
@Arjay404
I think the idea that is speculation and/or a dream/hope comes across quite clearly. Yeah it's something that technically can happen, but the chance of it happening now as a result of this is so minuscule that it's pretty much impossible. However any threat to the petrodollar, no matter how small is still of note.
@imausualbean

@mashaprince5324
The tax number on Iran sound too small for their population size. Perhaps I'm missing something.
@moosejawrobinson
Would 40 ships still be able to pass through the Strait daily if Iran diverts all ships between those two islands?
@Denverman1
Iranians are super smart and think through every move, while Trump and his crew don’t really seem to think ahead or get the consequences. So, it looks like the Persians have the upper hand.
@konyaku3072
Whatever method Iran is cashing, the amount is smaller compared to benefits that Trump and associates gained from their investment in stock exchange defense industry

I don't want to hear any US official whining about international law while they represent a government that wipes its ass with internal law on a regular basis. Ftr, I feel that way about former Biden officials too.
@Kgdfgdfgdf
@Great_WesternTVFan
This circus is annoying. One dictator against another and another. We need regime changes in all of these. But the society of the US want this war to hap
@cyanmanta
@jnmc2498
So USA indirectly gave Iranian regime leverage by chokeholding the Hormuz strait AND money。
The incompetence is staggering.
@Rahul-v7c6g
I hope the toll system doesnt go into permanance , which would increase the cost of petrol , diesel and everything else in the rest of the world even after the war is over
Has iran signed the UNCLOS or not ? Becuse you are saying it hasnt , but the map on the screen is showing it has
@hexgrade177
International law only existed for weaker nations and non-US allies. The Patriot Act literally exists.
@jackfaherty11
i just wanted to say the way you speak about the petrodollar as something that some people argue has strengthened the currency honestly comes off a bit sneaky, i would have thought it was common knowledge that the reason the us economy is so strong is because it essentially imports for free the the amount of dollars others want, on top of this the US can and do print more money and at an accelerated rate, i just rewatched and the words used were "some economists argue" id strongly disagree i think if you look at US foreign policy and recent invasions or whatever you want to call them you can quickly find the pattern showing that dictators are fine as long as they sell oil in dollars and whenever they step out of line theyre killed or removed from power
@eternitynaut
@cellokid5104

@anvarbeknazarov7148
Love these hypocrites remember about international law when it is convenient. Where was international law when US was imposing illegal sanctions or illegally seizing ship like pirates?
@chromesucks5299
Iran isnt considering taking yuan they are already doing it, USD is useless for them since t hey are under sanctions, but yuan is useful for them.
@grf411
@kathleenmanning3163
Why would iran open the straight anytime soon when its making so much money out of it. If trump wants it open he is going to have give iran things he will not want to. Clearly he did not think things thru
@CrimzinEclipse2010
Before the war: Iran and Russia both sanctioned from the global economy.
Now: Iran and Russia have their sanctions effectively lifted to keep the global economy from collapsing.
This is going to be studied for years to come.
@adhynugroho9424
I think the rule of law went out the window since 1) Russia attacked Ukraine and 2) Israel destroyed Gaza.
The world is in a worst place then it was 5 years ago. At least it feels that way.

When US itself is not following the international rules, why must any other country follow the rules set by UN. At this point its just a namesake organisation
@davrosdarlek7058
What's to stop Iran developing a nuke now? Not only will they have double the means, but the US has shown it can't commit to a meaningful land invasion. Nor can it fully destroy the deepest bunkers with missiles. If you slap sanctions on it then it'll just 10x your oil toll.
@lepetitroquet9410
@anthonyk423
If Iran could dodge sanctions by using the yuan they would’ve already done it by now considering China buys 90% of their oil at a discount. Even Russia had to dumb the yuan because it was useless
@djoldschool
So charging for a toll is 'against international law' but declaring war on a sovereign nation with no international agreement is fine?
I never saw myself defending a country like Iran but right now they are no worse than this idiotic US regime.
@zookeeper997
@jirikrajnak9047
Who gives a flying fuck what the USA deems illegal. They use international law only when convenient. Are people so blind, deaf and dumb to ignore the fact that this whole shitshow in Iran has no legal basis to begin with?
@fbebbe81
Even if they take the long path, the Houthis control Suez path south of Saudi. And those guys are battle hardened after several wars and fearless of death and controlled by Iran.
@Arjay404
@write2pras84
Iranian leaders and diplomats are highly educated: several of them have advanced degrees, few from even ivy institutions such as Stanford, Harvard. I don't know what fool might underestimate their ability to engage strategically.
@youcantata

I wonder if it's possible to dig a canal through the tip to bypass the de-facto blockade, kinda like the proposed canal at Istanbul.

Would be wierd irony in history if the Iran war leads to a regime change in the US and Israel and cements the end of the use of fossil fuels.
@teytreet7358
Anything says about international law by the US holds no weight.
@andro5t
I don't think Iran did mine the strait of hurmuz simply because it's really easy for them to destroy a tanker if that tanker go through the strait
Since tanker are big slow and very flammable targets just one Shahid drones is more than enough
@feiliu8975

The hypocrisy of the US calling for respect to international law. However, it would be wise of Iran to treat neighbours who are neutral or supportive in a better way.
@INdaBORZOM
While US gas prices hit a 4-year high of $4/gallon due to the conflict, Iran maintains the world's cheapest fuel through massive subsidies, showing a bizarre gap in global energy reality.
@ThueJanusKristensen
90% of Iranian oil is exported by sea. If this toll is fair, then I guess it is also fair to for other to put a toll on those ships for "protection".
@Sgt_Harkonnen
