My reasoning goes like this:
First, Canada and Mexico don't stand a chance against the US alone. But, with the allied invasion we’d need to have ground access to the US as trying to get all units by boat would be stupid against the might of the US Navy. These would be crucial points to gather troops to send an offensive. The US could overun Canada, but they would never be able to secure all the land up north. They can't cover everything making this an ideal spot to send troops to. Occupying Canada would be extremely costly to do for US ground forces, guerrila tactics used by the canadians would make afghanistan and Iraq look like a joke. Canadian military would disband into small strike forces to fight ambushes and attack supply lines.
Then we have Russia and China. These need no explanation; while weaker than the US they still are the other two most powerful armies. China is slowly building a pretty powerful Navy for the South China Sea, while the Russians have a pretty amazing ground army with a huge amount of tanks and combat experience. Russia would be close to the Canadian Front while China would challenge and force the US to fight in the Pacific.

Then we have the European nations: France, UK and Germany. All have pretty powerful tech with good militaries. They would put pressure on the US from the Atlantic. While there is no way they can beat the US Navy alone they can force the Americans to split up between the Pacific and the Atlantic which will make the fight easier, but still tough. The EU countries could also amass some pretty big ground forces for when the offensive arrives, having a combined manpower of 642,000 soldiers.
Then we have Iran, which I picked due to the combination of having a decently sized military and a whole lot of oil which will be crucial in supplying the coalition.
Then we have Japan. They have a pretty big defence force with a powerful navy and air force. They would be an excellent ally for the Chinese in the Pacific. This would have Russia, China and Japan fighting the US in Pacific which would be a formidable force. I also chose them for the technology they can bring. It’s no secret that Japan is a hub for technological advancements. In a drawn out conflict (which it will surely be) development of new tech will be crucial.
Then we have India which I chose mainly due to its ridiculous population and large military which would come into play in a drawn out fight. They are the 4th biggest military in the world and thus would be a pretty important army to have on your side. They also have a pretty powerful land army that would be a great factor once the land invasion begin.

So basically my coalition would have
GDP: 32 trillion dollars
Population: 3.4 billion
Active military personnel: +6,000,000
This is a pretty massive coalition. A lot of these countries are currently in peacetime military mode, but if an all out war VS the US came in the army would grow at a ridiculous pace. Canada had an army of a couple thousand before WW2 and ended up with over 1,000,000 men serving during WW2. Tank, plane and ship production would skyrocket. Having the technology of Japan and the EU with the experience of the Russian army, the manpower of India and China, and the tactical positioning of both Canada and Mexico, this coalition would eventually be able to take out the US after a long and ridiculously costly war making both WW1 and WW2 combined look like a joke.
Edit: Some people have pointed out that they think the US navy could destroy any attempt for the coalition to build a bigger navy, but I don't believe the US can afford it they would be fighting in 2 oceans protecting their homeland. If they try to get close to the Chinese or Russian coast they would need a pretty decent fleet to have the firepower to destroy the fortified construction sites and this would make them in range of ballistic missiles that are the best way for the coalition to take down a carrier. Their best option would be submarines, but there are plenty of ways to counter them.

I see everyone tries to defeat the USA via conventional strategy.
Therefore, they want to pick all the other big dogs and hope for the best. And, the USA likely wins in each of these scenarios.
Instead, I am going for an asymetric strategy. I am going to hypothesize an allied attack against the USA via my first pick for invading and occupying the USA:
#1 The USA.
My first pick to invade the USA is simple. The civilian population of the USA itself. It is heavily armed, radicalized, and fairly unstable. In my scenario it simply takes one wrong move by the US Government and the kids go ape s#!+.
We'll say that the Government actually does strip it's citizens of the 2nd Amendment. To make this plausible we will assume that a radical left wing President takes the White House, Democrats take the House and Senate, as well.
Then radical right wingers wig out and start a civil war.
This gives us our second country.

Once we have a civil war in the USA the country that depends on the US for survival is going to want to make sure the winner is still pro-Israel. The obvious side will be the right wing insurgency.
#3 Russia.
Russia is a pretty Conservative country. In the US civil war they are probably going to support the Conservative side.
This leads us to our next several countries.
#4, #5, #6, #7 Arab Coalition; KSA, Egypt, UAE, and Jordan.
We will assume that the right wing uses it's oil ties with the Arabs to gain assistance.
Canada is, too, liberal to hope for help. But, our last three countries could likely be bribed into helping.
#8, #9, #10 Bringing In the Cartel; Mexico, Columbia, Argentina.
I now have a massive region for importing arms and personnel. I have a massive network I can use to funnel illicit arms into the region. I chose Argentina due it's large Muslim population (largest in South America) which will allow me to transfer items of interest into the region from the middle east.
So, now I have a popular insurgency, I have substantial outside support, and I have a tried and true means for indefinite supply for my occupation. I need only continue fighting until I am satisfied with the amount of territory I control.

Also, the country with the largest armored force in the world and the second largest air fleet in the world with roughly 4000 planes. They have modern MBTs able to destroy the Abrams like the T90 and the new T14 Armata, Spetnaz special force. Plus, their country is almost impossible to invade. I would place my headquarter there, hidden somewhere in Siberia. Oh yeah, they also have nukes! Their troops would me my second line infantry, they attack after the first line has weakened enemy defenses with mechanized infantry and tanks.

They also have a shitload of tanks, APCs and IFVs and the second biggest fleet in the world with 714 (is the first if we don’t consider North Korea that has 900+ ships and submarines, many obsolete). I would use Chinese troops as first line infantry and put their industries in full-out production. Also, they have nuke and ICBM missiles

They have an army of 176.000 men and women but like in Korea in Israel there is a mandatory military service so every civilian can become a soldier in months. They have great tanks and modern equipment and the infamous secret service known ad “Mossad”, an unit I want as allied if I have to fight against a superpower such as the US. They are close enough to Saudi Arabia to protect it from an US raid, if is needed
8 - Canada
I need Canada mainly for its vicinity to Alaska and the US borders. First thing I do, I occupy Alaska to get more oil resources. Then, I attack from north. I don’t go from both Mexico and Canada, I choose one attack route and go from there while my big navy challenges the US one in the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. Canada also has special forces specialized in fighting terrorists and this will come in handy when angry American civilian starts a guerrilla against my coalition

With roughly 75.000 soldiers, Saudi Arabia is not much of a deal in the war I’m going to fight, especially because Arabian soldiers are according to many not well trained. However, the reason why I need Arabia in my coalition is another: they are after the USA the biggest oil producer in the world, grossing 268 BILLIONS of oil barrels. Plus, they can still thrown in the fight 422 Abrams tanks, 400 Bradley IFVs, 1500 HUMVEEs, 844 aircrafts, thousands of artillery guns and some fighting drones. I would use their armored troops and Air Force to strengthen my first line Chinese-Indian infantry and use the rest of the troops as garrison in places I already conquered
With a massive army like this, USA only chance is to fight a defensive war and try to dry my forces or try to make the countries that compose it fight amongst them. Is truly a mighty army they are dealing with!

Well, you need several things to invade and occupy the USA. With those in mind, here is a list:
Canada - the USN is more than a match for the rest of the world combined, so invasion will have to be made overland. Canada is fairly close to 3 of the USA’s most populous cities(#1-New York, #3-Chicago, #6-Philadelphia)
Mexico - see #1. Fairly close to the remaining 8 of 11 most populous cities in the US, including #2-Los Angeles, #4-Houston, #5-Phoenix)
United Kingdom - not only a strong power with a strong military history, but also has a strong economy. Also will be extremely helpful in an occupation. For an unknown reason, the British accent has the ability to charm Americans, and this will be helpful in quelling an insurgency. (I do not succumb to the British accent, but a disturbing amount of Americans do)
Russia - no surprise here. A large nation with a lot of military equipment, including a large nuclear submarine fleet, which will be essential in providing at least some resistance to the overwhelming might of the US Navy.
China - again, no surprise. They have an even larger nuclear submarine fleet than Russia, and have been stealing military technology from the US(and others) for many decades now. They also have a massive population and a corresponding huge army. They are also a dictatorship and could conscxt the many millions of men required to execute a successful occupation.
Brazil - the largest economy in South America and would be very important logistically.

The biggest issue(even more difficult than figuring out a way to get troops and supplies to US soil safely) will be coordination and teamwork between these nations. We saw in WW2 how difficult it was for even British and US troops/officers to work together, and those 2 cultures share a language, religion, and culture.
EU nations like Germany, France and the UK could probably work together fairly well from the start. However, imagine how Japan and China would work together? Or Germany and Mexico? Or Brazil and Russia? or Turkey and the UK? etc.
It would take many years of practice and heavy integration before anything more than a couple of these nations would develop any trust at all between each other…if it is even possible at all!

Canada, Mexico, China, Russia, India, Denmark, France, UK, Germany, and take your pick between Brazil, Australia, Japan, and Cuba.
As other have mentioned, Canada, Mexico, China, and Russia are all basically a given. China alone has the largest troop count of any military, and Russia is no slouch in that department either. Combined with their industrial capacity, tanks, plentiful navies and air-forces, they are all a given. Canada is mandatory for a strong ground based invasion start point, with Mexico being a viable secondary contender to utilize. They also present a decent set of opportunities for spec operations and spying.
Denmark is useful because of Greenland ( since it is their territory). Having Greenland grants a plethora of advantages to supply routes, while also granting some potential first strike openings ( there are some potential cruise missiles that can hit the US main land from a green land coastal launch, even if sea skimming).
India is here for much the same reason China and Russia are. While perhaps not as well equipped, their numbers make them useful.
France, UK, and Germany are all here for the same reason. They grant an advanced air force, numerous tanks and troops, and even more naval power.
Now, onto those wild cards. Each is useful, but for different reasons. Brazil grants another major economy to the effort, ensuring better economic support of the coalitions operations. Australia is useful as a naval operating point, and arguably more importantly, let’s me further disrupt intelligence networks ( assuming Canada and the UK have not damaged that enough already). Japan is useful for giving the coalition more ports to work with. If the naval conflict drags out, the added ports and ship building potential is useful. Cuba though is kind of the one I would lean to especially if they could have arms stock piled prior to everything going hot. Cuba present an excellent missile launching point, supply area, and in general gives excellent strike opportunities.

As other have mentioned, Canada, Mexico, China, and Russia are all basically a given. China alone has the largest troop count of any military, and Russia is no slouch in that department either. Combined with their industrial capacity, tanks, plentiful navies and air-forces, they are all a given. Canada is mandatory for a strong ground based invasion start point, with Mexico being a viable secondary contender to utilize. They also present a decent set of opportunities for spec operations and spying.
Denmark is useful because of Greenland ( since it is their territory). Having Greenland grants a plethora of advantages to supply routes, while also granting some potential first strike openings ( there are some potential cruise missiles that can hit the US main land from a green land coastal launch, even if sea skimming).
India is here for much the same reason China and Russia are. While perhaps not as well equipped, their numbers make them useful.
France, UK, and Germany are all here for the same reason. They grant an advanced air force, numerous tanks and troops, and even more naval power.
Now, onto those wild cards. Each is useful, but for different reasons. Brazil grants another major economy to the effort, ensuring better economic support of the coalitions operations. Australia is useful as a naval operating point, and arguably more importantly, let’s me further disrupt intelligence networks ( assuming Canada and the UK have not damaged that enough already). Japan is useful for giving the coalition more ports to work with. If the naval conflict drags out, the added ports and ship building potential is useful. Cuba though is kind of the one I would lean to especially if they could have arms stock piled prior to everything going hot. Cuba present an excellent missile launching point, supply area, and in general gives excellent strike opportunities.

My strategy and the outcome will depend on the initial conditions at outbreak of war.
Surprise invasion
If the coalition can somehow catch the US by surprise (basically impossible, but this is an impossible hypothetical scenario anyway), then the grand coalition could muster enough ground troops in Canada and Mexico to hold a decisive advantage on land, thanks to the massive land armies of China, Russia and India. The USA would still maintain air superiority, but this could be countered by sophisticated SAM systems.
It would be a long grinding war, followed by decades of occupation of American insurgency, but the coalition will be victorious.

2. Escalating tensions
In the more fair scenario where a grand coalition has formed today and war breaks out tomorrow, the US navy holds such a massive advantage over the navies of every other country on earth that even the combined fleets of all those navies will be hilariously outmatched against the USA, so there would be no way to transport all those Chinese, Russian and Indian ground troops to the American home front.
In this scenario I would be tempted to drop Canada and Mexico from the coalition for stronger countries, because I believe it would be the US invading the coalition rather than the other way around. However, I decided that having Mexico and Canada in the coalition at least forces the USA to invade and occupy two large countries with difficult terrain, and force them to fight a difficult counter-insurgency war at their doorstep, which should buy time for the rest of the coalition to mobilize for a LONG war.
The Long War would see the US navy launch strikes against coalition industry to disrupt the military buildup and technology transfer between coalition members. If they are unsuccessful, the industrial capacity of the coalition, which includes several technologically advanced nations and former US allies familiar with NATO capabilities, would no doubt outproduce the US in stealth fighters, bombers, cruise missiles, tanks, warships etc… and gradually erode the US advantage at sea and in the air. Once that happens, then US defeat is inevitable.
However the superiority of the US navy gives the USA strategic initiative to pick and choose when and where to fight. If I were the US commander-in-chief, I would invade and occupy Japan and the UK at either end of Eurasia. Both countries are advanced naval powers whose expertise, experience and technology could be leveraged by the coalition to eventually outmatch the US Navy, so it is imperative to the US that they are taken out of the equation. Both countries are also island nations that could be defended from mainland ground armies once they fall to the US.
So in summary, I think we will end up with a stalemate where the US has occupied Canada, Mexico, Japan and the UK, but cannot make meaningful headway into the other continental coalition members.

Couldn’t I just beat them in my own soil? If I somehow get there, I will be screwed. It is foolish. So I think my only chance is to gather a strong navy and enforce a blockade on America. See, international trade is the heart of the US. Not only does it make money (your heart doesn’t actually make blood, but whatever), it also circulates it. If I cut the heart out, the body will fall. I will invade after the American economy consumes it self with my troops. The air war will be harsh and I must bring in air defenses as well. So I have made my self a group. I need countries that specialize in either strong armies, strong navies, strong air forces, or high tech missile systems. If it is possible, I would like a combination of all in one country. Anyway, I need allies on the Pacific so the blockade is coming in from both sides. For this, I am going to secure China and Japan a position on my top ten and I am going to put South Korea on the “If I find spare room” section. China and Japan have healthy navies, admirable air forces, as well as a nice geographical position. Next, I need some decent guys on my Atlantic side. So I will recruit Brazil, the UK and France. I want the UK because of their submarines and Eurofighters, plus they have 2 new and deadly aircraft carriers. Britain has a reasonable navy as well. France because of their Rafales, as well as their own aircraft carrier. They have a decent navy too!

Brazil because of sheer man power and their strong air force as well as a large navy. So both of the American coasts are covered, meaning I can take countries from random locations now. For that reason, I will chose Russia. Many reasons for this. They have a massive amount of tanks, far more than America’s. Lots of missiles as well as a strong air force. I also admire their anti-aircraft department especially. After that, I will chose Israel because of two reasons. They have experience, and lots of drones. They mainly operate US aircraft so I should be able to study them in order to find the strengths and weaknesses of them. Then I will chose Pakistan and India because they both have large armies, produce their own tanks and also make their own aircraft. After that, I want Iran to conclude my force. Iran is my choice for a couple of reasons. First off, I want them for oil. Although they don’t make as much as Saudi Arabia or Venezuela do, I chose them over the others. Over the Saudis because they have a stronger and more motivated military, and over the Venezuela for the same reason as well as because Venezuela would get bombed to death before I can do anything to help them since they are so close to America. Maybe Brazil can provide them some assistance, but it won’t be enough. Also, Iran have lots of good missile tech. You guys are probably thinking why I need so many missiles, it’s because my navy is still not good enough to not only beat, but destroy the US navy. So I will blow them up with rockets, as well as their stupid air force. I have one country left. I am divided over taking Germany, Turkey or Australia. But we all know it has to be Turkey since their military is more capable than the other two combined. The German military is so bad that the only reason they were a choice is because of their economy. But that doesn’t matter because their economy is going to shrivel up and die after I blockade America. But that means I am out of space and no South Korea, unfortunately. The Turks have a strong industry and I hope to convert it into making aircraft and tanks. They also have a huge ship building thing going on and I just need to flick a switch so they stop making yachts and make warships. So this is my pick (not in preference or strength order, just whatever I my hands felt like typing). Another thing I will include is that I know many of these countries won’t get along, it is just that last time I tried to keep it real, everybody started hating on me.
