Iranians are generally nice people, and we like most countries but there are a few that we admire the most.
India: We see a lot of similarity between Zoroastrianism [our indigenous faith] and Hinduism [which is the largest religion in India].
Our civilizations have always been connected through trade and cultural exchange prior to the Islamic Arab invasion of Iran in the 7th century.
After that, many Zoroastrians fled to India to save themselves and they call themselves Parsis or Iranis [I’m not quite so sure about which term is more appropriate].
After that, our Muslim tyrants like Nader Shah pillaged India several times spreading Islam by sword at the expense of the Iranian people.
We, the Iranian people feel sorry for the conduct of our brutal Islamic leaders after the 7th century and would like you to know that they never represented the Iranian people.
We call India Hindustan [pronounced: Hendustan]. Both of us also suffer from a troublesome neighborhood pest named Pakistan and I hope for the day that it returns to India.

United States of America: FREEDOM

The US has always been on the right side of Iranian history, however badly the country has been painted by our Mullahs who can’t stand to see their monopoly power/corporate interests diminished.
Many Iranians including myself have had to flee Iran to the US, namely Los Angeles where you can find many of us. Also worth mentioning is the fact that Los Angeles is sometimes called Tehrangeles!
Japan/Germany: We like both countries for their industrial progress, democracy and high standard of living.

Also, Iran is connected to India by language. The Indo-Aryan and Iranian languages had common ancestor languages. Sanskrit is similar to the Avestan language. And not just this, Farsi has directly influenced Hindustani language (Hindi, Urdu) so we use alot of Persian derived words while speaking although they have been modified to suit our grammar.

Dear Mehran, thanks for your nice feelings towards India and its people. Indians in general have very positive and brotherly feelings towards Iranians too, I have visited Iran several times in recent past both for business and pleasure, always overwhelmed by outpouring of love and affection by Iranian people. Despite ups and downs in Indo Iranian relationship, people to people contact have always been very strong.
A grateful India will always remain indebted to this tiny minority of few thousand Parsi in India,for their contribution to growth and development of India ,their contribution has touched lives of every Indian.

But pakistani people are also not bad but are really good people but thier leadership has failed them since decades ..And I have reservations about your opinion praising US. And I totally disagree with your comments on Narendra Modi . Modi is not the Islamic destroyer . He is just as Nationalistic as Russians ,or Chinese or Japanese or German people. And to be Nationalistic is neuthrr a crime nor an offence anywhere in the world .

Here are some of the countries that Iranians admire the most. (Not in particular order).
India
Historically Iran and India have had a long history of friendship. Both countries have been inspired by each other culturally and linguistically. The modern Persian influence was first introduced to the Indian subcontinent during the Delhi sultanate in the 13th century. Persian was adopted as the official language of the Delhi sultanate and was later also adopted as the official language of the Mughal Empire until it was replaced by English in 1835 by the British East India company. The influence of Persian led to a vernacular called Hindustani that is the ancestor of today’s Urdu and Hindi.
India was also influenced by Persian calligraphy, art and architecture during the Mughal Empire. Taj Mahal in India that was built for the Persian princess and wife of Shah Jahan is a great example of Persian influence in India. Taj Mahal was built by the Iranian architects Ahmad Lahori that was the chief architect of the Taj Mahal and Ostad Isa Shiraz that was the assistant architect of the Taj Mahal. Calligraphy of Persian poems were used on the building and the basic elements of the design were Persian in origin. Other buildings in India such as the Agra fort in Uttar Pradesh was also inspired by the Persian pre-islamic building Arge Bam, located in the Kerman province in Iran. There are also many stone carvings and plasters of Persian inscxtion in India.

All that aside, the reason to why so many Iranians love India is because of the favour they made the Iranian people in the 7th century to the 9th century when Iran was invaded and occupied by the Arabs. The invading Arab Muslims persecuted, enslaved, massacred and forced Islam upon the Persian Zoroastrians. (For those who don’t know, the religion of Persians/Iranians were Zoroastrianism from 1000 BC until the Arab conquest of Persia in 630 AD). Zoroastrians that refused to give up their faith escaped Iran for Gujarat in India where they were given refuge. There they formed the Indian Zoroastrian community knows as the Parsis. Even tough Zoroastrianism is considered an ancient Iranian religion, the majority of Zoroastrians today live in India. It is estimated that over 200,000 Zoroastrians live in India today.
Indians saved our ancestors and it is something that the Iranian people still after 14 centuries have not forgotten. When the Zoroastrians had nowhere else to go, the Indian people gladly welcomed them to their country.

Japan is definitely one of the most loved countries among Iranians due to the cultural similarities between Japanese and Iranian peoples. Japanese people are very respectful, polite, friendly and hospitable people just like most Iranians. They always respect their elders and put family before anything else which is another similarity between the citizens of Japan and Iran.
Another similarity between Iranian and Japanese people is that both are extremely educated peoples, especially in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields. Iran ranks 5th in the world in number of STEM graduates every year with 335,000 STEM graduates, while Japan ranks 7th in the world with almost 200,000 STEM graduates every year. However, one might wonder why Iran as a country is nowhere as modern or as technologically advanced as Japan is despite having more STEM graduates. The reason behind that is that most Iranian STEM graduate choose to leave the country in search of better job opportunities in western countries. It’s a shame that Iran is not as advanced as Japan is because our people definitely have the potential, but as long as the Islamic Republic is in power we will never reach Japans level due to the policies of the Islamic Republic. Many Iranians also say that if the Islamic revolution in 1979 would of never happened, Iran would be as modern and advanced as Japan is today.

Japan is the ideal country of every Iranian. Every Iranian wants to live in a technologically advanced country where there is no corruption and crime rate. However, if we want to achieve what the Japanese people have achieved we need to change ourselves from within first. France is loved due to their beautiful French language that have had a huge impact on the Persian language. There are thousands of French loanwords in Persian, the most famous word being “Merci” which means thank you and is used by both French and Iranian people to show their gratitude. Many Iranians also study French which is the most famous foreign language in Iran after English.
France had a good relationship with Iran during the Pahlavi dynasty (1925-1979). Reza Shah was impressed and inspired by both the quality and the organisation of the French army and the patriotism of the French people. Reza Shah highly praised France in one of his speeches and sent the Iranian cadets for military training in France. French officers were also recruited to train Persians at the military academy in Tehran (Dāneškade-ye afsarī) led by Colonel Caldairou.
France also inspired the formation of the Persian secondary education, with the dābīrestān modeled on the french lycée. French advisors and professors also took an active part in the university of Tehran, most notably in the faculties of medicine and fine arts. Also the ideological and political language of the Iranian nationalists, inlcuding Mohammad Mossadegh himself, and the political elite in general were French.

Tajikistan
There is no country that is ethnically closer to Iranian peoples than the Tajik people. Tajikistan is a Persian majority country just like Iran and used to be part of the Persian Empire for thousands of years. Iranians and Tajiks can easily communicate and understand each other since the official language of both countries is Persian. Iranians and Tajiks are also culturally the same people and celebrate the same Zoroastrian festivals such as Norooz, Chaharshanbe Sori and Shabe Yalda.
Tajikistan is simply our brother country. One people, two nations.
Other countries such as Armenia, Germany, South Korea, China and Azerbaijan are also highly admired.

Even today Zoroastrian AtashBehram and AtashKadehs very much exists and Non-Zoroastrians are not allowed inside by the law of the land. Even today there are tower of silence in various part of the country and all are operational. Besides the largest indian business house the Tata group, India can boast of Zoroastrian Chief of the Army, Navy & the Airforce. The highest ranking Gallantry award winner (in the 1965 war) was a Zoroastrian.
India is now our country and we owe it a lot.

Indians are also regarded as a very friendly and specially peaceful people which never tried to war with others. Maybe that's a reason for their vegetarian diet. Great many Iranian students went to India for higher education during latter half of twentieth century because of India's quality education and cheaper life expense.
Their films are very popular, specially among certain part of the society. In general their view of India is very favorable and admirable.

India is very popular here in Iran, mostly because of the large influence of Bollywood films here in Iran and neighboring Afghanistan. The youth, in particular, seem to be relatively fascinated with India and its history. Iranians traveling to India for Tourism and Education have been steadily increasing over the years France, in general, is a relatively popular country in the Middle East and the Muslim World. Generally seen as the nicer of the two evils which divided the region in the early 1900s (Britain and France). None the less, French culture is very popular and much appreciated here. Along with a growing community of Iranians settling in France. The Iranian people admire France which has a rich history of glorious Kings, Empires, Immense Wealth, Power, Arts, Mathematics and Sciences.

Not a generally expected answer but one of the top 3 if you were to ask me. Uzbekistan is a hidden gem in Central Asia with much to show to the world. Most Iranians can identify Uzbekistan as the nation with numerous Grand Mosques dating back to Uzbekistan’s history under Persian Rule. Uzbekistan has become a popular tourist destination for many Iranians. Uzbekistan is also well known as the land of carpets, some of the very first carpet industries did not become popular in Iran but in Uzbekistan
