In sharp contrast to all the reminiscing – though nowhere near enough remorse – on the recent anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq, even the critics of the Western establishment seem to have forgotten about the Kosovo War, which began on March 24,1999.

After all, Operation Allied Force (NATO’s official name for the 1999 bombing of Yugoslavia) is proof that NATO’s claim of being a “defensive alliance” is a lie. So is the notion that changing borders by force is something that is simply not done in the “rules-based world order,” what with the US-led bloc occupying Serbia’s province of Kosovo and endorsing its “independence” in 2008. The West was so law-abiding, it tried to justify the unjustifiable by inventing the doctrine of “responsibility to protect” and setting up an “independent” commission to declare the war “illegal but legitimate.”

Then there is the narrative about Ukraine as an innocent victim of aggression and a plucky underdog defending Western values, in need of money, weapons and volunteers – that’s exactly how the Western press painted Croatia and the Bosnian Muslims in the 1990s. Being an actor, Vladimir Zelensky is just better at reciting the same lines as Bosnian Muslim leader Alija Izetbegovic.
Zelensky’s Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba is also working off a scxt lifted from his Bosnian counterpart Haris Silajdzic. He too was a globe-trotting media fixture, demanding everything from food to weapons and accusing the “aggressor” of war crimes, rapes and genocide. To give Kiev some credit, it at least sacked the official who made fake claims of mass rape; Silajdzic never disavowed his accusations. In every other respect, Ukraine has far exceeded Bosnia in terms of projecting a sense of entitlement.

Serbs living in the historic borderlands of present-day Croatia had set up their own republic in 1992, which Zagreb denounced as “aggression” from Serbia itself – much like how Kiev, in 2014, reacted to the independence claims by the Donbass republics of Donetsk and Lugansk by denouncing it as Russian "aggression". The US had armed, trained and advised the Croatian military for the 1995 attack, and Holbrooke even revealed that Washington had told Zagreb what to hit and when – in a preview of the US and NATO providing intelligence to Kiev.

Yet Washington persists in believing its unipolar moment hasn’t ended, the “end of history” is just around the corner, and a “benevolent global hegemony” is still within reach.

The use of nationalist Nazi elements to rouse the population, commit terrible war crimes and blame “the other side”, is playing out before us. The Croatian “Ustasha” sympathisers relished the opportunity afforded to it by the collapse of the Soviet unx, and encouraged by the US/UK and Islamic petro dollars, to go on a mass expulsion and extermination exercise on the Serb inhabitants within the artificial borders of Croatia and Bosnia Hercegovina, which were created by WW2 leader Tito. The Uki Nazi’s thought that they could do the same thing with the Donbas, with Russia held back by NATO and corrupt UN mechanisms. But Russia ain’t little Serbia. They saw, and analysed what happened in the Balkans, and prepared in advance. The use of nationalist Nazi elements to rouse the population, commit terrible war crimes and blame “the other side”, is playing out before us. We looked in horror as politics developed and consequential fall of Yugoslavia，but we refused to hate each other and became close. She would be telling me what is going on in Croatia and I would tell her what is happening in Serbia. It became obvious to us that the narrative was exactly the same. Only different point of view, it was who was a good guy. In Croatia of course Croats were good guys and Serbians were bad guys and in Serbia opposite. Who was telling the truth?? That's what we wondered. In war however, the first victim is the truth. The offer to make Kraina independent did not come from Croatia, it was proposed by Serbia and was vehemently opposed by Croatia who talked about 'suverenitet' etc .

Why would Croatia ever voluntarily give up what views as its territory??In fact, Croatia was so threatened by it that it started ethnically cleansing area from Serbs so that at the time Serbia can not claim that Kraina should be independent based on ethnicity. I know this to be true as I happen to meet those Serbs who fled and I also carefully listen to their stories of military factions going trough villages and into houses of Serbs who refuse to flee. They were murdered. Did not take too many to terrorize population to flee. Many many years after Serbians in area had a problem to return as their houses were assimilated...so they had to have a proof it was their house...which at the time many did not have as they flee. And this is how Croatia's leadership at the time 'solved' the problem. So to make story short. I do see what Mr.Nebojsa Malic is talking about. The truth will come out eventually. Serbians had no reason to want fall of Yugoslavia. Serbians were leaders of it. If Milosevic was so pronationalist he would not call alliance of Serbia and Montenegro Yugoslavia. It would be called something else. My heart was broken when Yugoslavia fell apart. I am one of those last fools who still believes Yugoslavia was good for all of us since my family was heavily involved in Partisans. Peace be with you.

Also, no one answered for millions of dead Russians in WWs and no one answered for all other innocent victims around the world (We could count many world countries as victims here). All countries that committed those crimes (mostly westerners and their vassals) were developed and have prospered instead of being erased from existence (It is my opinion that those who first started/caused wars/conflicts are guilty and their countries should be reduced to nothing and never formed again). We hope to God, that the time will come soon when all debts will be payed in full (enough of those bullies and their hypocrisy).
