Vietnam is an agricultural country. The war ended in 1975, but in reality it was not until 1989 that Vietnam actually ended the war with the Khmer Rouge and China. Vietnam came out of the war with a body full of injuries, its mining infrastructure was completely flattened, then was surrounded, isolated and economically embargoed. It was not until 1994 that Vietnam was lifted from the economic embargo. In fact, Vietnam has only spent 28 years on development.

About a few weeks ago, I saw a few Vietnam electrical vehicles on display outside a Vietnamese's supermarket. These vehicles have a V logo. At that time, I didn't know they were from Vietnam after I watched a YouTube channel, I know these EV is called Vinfast. Vietnam has improved a lot; however, there are also much need to be done. I think Vietnam should try to improve transportation infrastructure like multi-lane freeway/highway where a cargo container truck can deliver goods from HaNoi to SaiGon or anywhere within the country for about 6-8 hours.

When I was young, many people told me that Vietnamese people can't really build anything good, not even a good bicycle. They are so ffing wrong. I have to admit not many countries in the world can build machinery,automobile, or large infrastructures. Vietnam has been improved a lot (impressive) and mostly due to generous spendings from foreign tourism.

Vietnam already has a national highway from north to south, so the Vietnamese government knows that. The 1,800 km long North-South Expressway is under construction. Regarding the high-speed train, at the end of this year, the government will approve the north-south high-speed train line, which when completed, will connect directly to China. Regarding aviation, many airports are being invested in, including the Long Thanh super airport that is being tested and put into operation in 2025. And many highways connecting provinces and cities. Right where I live, there are many 4-lane highways under construction. Vietnam now is no different from a giant construction site.

not too long ago Vietnamese suffered a 15 years long of embargoed from both USA and China. That means we lacked of very basic necessities that are necessary for the life of a human being during that time. It was very common for my parents' generation to eat "bo bo", foods that supposedly fed to live stocks, and only the wealthy upper class family could afford a meal with rice and some meat. I do not wish war upon any country as we Vietnamese people understand how hard it takes to recover from it.

I live in Philippines and I know vietnam is not the perfect country but I envy their development. I used to know that vietnam is below us but now its the opposite. I'm planning to move out of my country, I don't see any future living in Philippines.

I love Vietnam. One of my favorite places. But all these videos seem to show that everyone is doing well there. It’s not the case. It’s still a really poor country with poverty everywhere. Sure the country is a lot better than it was in the 1980s, but it’s not a modern powerhouse these videos make it out to be.
