Why are these phenomena occurring throughout China?

My step mom came from China and felt quite isolated and inactive here. In China, she was a leader of a dancing group that danced in a park across their apartment complex. They had uniforms and fan props. Just a bunch of ladies, and some men, who wanted to do a social and physical activity.
When she got here, she couldn't get that. She tried dancing in our backyard but it wasn't enough. She moved to the school park near our home. She danced by herself, music coming from phone, for days.
Then, one after another, people joined her. We live in a very multicultural city, and ladies of VARIOUS cultural backgrounds asked to join my step mom. She did not know English, but the desire to dance, be active, and socialize was universal. Then COVID happened and ruined everything.
All this to say, this is a generally good thing. If it bothers you, either ask them to turn it down, ask them to move elsewhere that doesn't bother you, or you get over it. They are not doing it 24/7. They are not out there to be a menace. They are doing something positive for their health, mental and physical.
If you wanna deny them enjoyment of the space for your enjoyment of the space like you deserve it more, you're not "wrong," just a Karen.

Couldn't care less in China but lately in North america there's been a group of ladies that have been absolutely blasting the music. You can hear it across the entire park and streets away. It started with a small speaker. And now have a giant boom box.
It's just disrupting to everyone else. I want peace and tranquility while I stroll. Hear the birds. While I understand a little more noise isn't a big deal in a tier 1 city, in a sleepy North American suburb that kind of noise is jarring.
Nobody would appreciate me blasting rap music across the entire park. Just because they're sweet old ladies doesn't make it okay

We have elderly Chinese people gather in our local mall praticing taichi...The mall's building open at 8 o'clock but the stores don't open until 11 am.
There are at least a hundred of them there, Whats even funnier is that There are elderly white and black dudes practicing with them. It's a sight to behold.

ABChinese dude here. I think people should just live with the noise in a city. I get looks blasting traditional Chinese music like bro wtf you playing outta your ride. I get looks playing 90s gangsta ass rap. Like bro you trying to be hard? Different people will give you looks for different music. Parents are fine with me blasting Sam Hui but not Tupac. Good thing I don't care.
Fuck it as long as the cops are okay with it, I am blasting whatever the fuck I want. Country music. Ranchita. Wong fei hung or wuxia music. System of a down. Idgaf.
When I hear people blasting music, even if it is shit I don't like I am happy they are jamming out and enjoying that shit.

Well number one. Part of it is literally a nature preserve and there are city signs posted saying as much about how it's designed to be naturalized to preserve local animals and fauna. If that's your rebuttal then I counter with. You're in a park. Not a dance studio.
Secondly. An urban park with rap music blasting across a whole park is annoying and "disturbing the peace" just the same.
Don't lie to me. I know our culture. 20-50 black guys blasting rap music would not get such a hand waving attitude.

My wife tells me that the woman who brings the music charges everyone a couple of rmb for her efforts. And often a few in the group who want to bring the music and get a few rmb will fight over who gets to. Something we should emulate in other countries, along with the public exercise quipment that’s everywhere and the low retirement ages. I love how comfortable the oldies are in public spaces in China. In the West they seem much more isolated and housebound.

As long as they are not affecting other people there are more pros than cons.

Only if they can play some not so cringe music and turn the volume down and not annoy me.

1 group is ok, 2 groups is ok if they spread up, 3 group or more is a noise hellhole, with each of them blasting a different song. That is just noise pollution

Nothing as long as they do it early enough? Sometimes I see students doing the same in parks or empty basketball courts. You just see it less because they have school (and other areas to dance.)
