This is what some smaller farmers in other countries do too. They can't compete against the larger industrial farmers on scale and quantity, so they compete and focus on quality. With some even developing their own varieties and branding.

The same thing here in Indonesia. The price of Pork is very expensive because they are importarted from EU. Local Indonesians & local Malaysians are very much similar, as they even can communicate each other using their own respective languages. Their attitude/behavior towards life, work ethic & mindset are very much similar too, not to mention Islam as main religion. All these factors make Indonesia difficult to develop & have progress. There are around 3 million Chinese Indonesians in this country who loves eating Pork, but the government & local people make it impossible to open Pig farm business. Unlike Chinese, local people's mindset are very backwards, not to mention how slow they arewhilst working. There is no equality here. There is equal treatment here between local Indonesias & Chinese Indonesians. The narrative created by government is Indonesia is a very peaceful, friendly & dull of tolerance. That is not the truth. The truth is they are very intolerant . If tourists just come to Bali & believe that Indonesia is a peaceful & friendly place, then you only see 1% of it. You haven't seen the other 99% such as Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, etc.

I did taking serious hygiene on pig farming. Giving pigs bath, clean their enclosure thoroughly, vaccinate them, weekly vet visit (vets from Department of Veterinary of Sarawak will come to visit the farm) and proper care of pigs.

The issue isn’t religion. Large pig farms near residential areas create health and environmental risks. Malaysia has experienced this before with Nipah virus due to poor farm management. Any livestock farm must follow zoning and safety laws.

@zmeel I don`t know where you hear it about residential area, the only news I hear is the relocation of existing pig farm.And the area assign to it is near garbage dumping area which will made it even worse.Not to mention chicken, pig or beef are basically monopoly and control by mafia like group.

Just read the news about the Selangor Sultan against the new approval pig farm that one you mention right? I have to say why approve near residential area of all places? That why I say it religious politic of all places the approve unconventional area just to make it an issue.It not like there no land in Malaysia.

I did taking serious hygiene on pig farming. Giving pigs bath, clean their enclosure thoroughly, vaccinate them, weekly vet visit (vets from Department of Veterinary of Sarawak will come to visit the farm) and proper care of pigs.

@zmeel I don`t know where you hear it about residential area, the only news I hear is the relocation of existing pig farm.And the area assign to it is near garbage dumping area which will made it even worse.Not to mention chicken, pig or beef are basically monopoly and control by mafia like group.
