The point is in India, people do not worry much about consequences for bad behaviour. Or there is no accountability for the anything. Once it is sorted things will fall in place.

India puts all the emphasis on churning out educated talent and becoming economics number one but still so igonarant to civic duty.
I went to a stunning beach in puducherry except it was completely covered in rubbish by locals I'd never seen such a beautiful beach ruined like that, i cried. And also at my hotel in another part of India was kept up several times until 3/4am by family groups who booked several rooms who are literally shouting and talking loudly and kids running around at that time like it's their own home.

I had to get up and tell them to stop and call the hotel staff and they still carried on. Too many incidents of travelling across India to tourist sites and people acting disgusting and stupid which is a big part of why India doesn't end up being respected globally tbh. Economy isn't enough to have respect if people don't become civilised.

In Mysore zoo they strictly pick all plastic items including reusable water bottle at entrance itself hence many carry personal bottles...n no snacks this helped a lot to keep the zoo very clean

Onus should be on law enforcement which is for the most part passive. Some states have a reputation for tough, no-nonsense policing and that keeps these errant tourists in check. Sikkim is a fine example.

I was assigned at an onsite project in London. During a weekend another Indian who was staying in the same apartment went for a smoke outside. He threw the cigarette butt on the footpath. Some police officer saw that and fined him 100 GBP. He was furious after coming back to the apartment while the rest of us had a good laugh.
The point is in India, people do not worry much about consequences for bad behaviour. Or there is no accountability for the anything. Once it is sorted things will fall in place.

Right now they aren't paying anything, no fines, no punishment, no shaming... and they think they can do whatever they want in a different state.

India puts all the emphasis on churning out educated talent and becoming economics number one but still so igonarant to civic duty.
I went to a stunning beach in puducherry except it was completely covered in rubbish by locals I'd never seen such a beautiful beach ruined like that, i cried. And also at my hotel in another part of India was kept up several times until 3/4am by family groups who booked several rooms who are literally shouting and talking loudly and kids running around at that time like it's their own home.

I had to get up and tell them to stop and call the hotel staff and they still carried on. Too many incidents of travelling across India to tourist sites and people acting disgusting and stupid which is a big part of why India doesn't end up being respected globally tbh. Economy isn't enough to have respect if people don't become civilised.

In Mysore zoo they strictly pick all plastic items including reusable water bottle at entrance itself hence many carry personal bottles...n no snacks this helped a lot to keep the zoo very clean

Onus should be on law enforcement which is for the most part passive. Some states have a reputation for tough, no-nonsense policing and that keeps these errant tourists in check. Sikkim is a fine example.

Instead those in authority ( ministers) need to talk about this topic and create awareness of public hygiene and behavior. While I appreciate this video, more needs to be done by our leaders.
